  1. Nobody, it's over. I mean, he torched Arizona (20th in D) for 2 catches and 23 yards. The Bills have no chance.
  2. Since when does wet weather favor a running team? Propensity for fumbles increases in wet weather, and running backs are in bigger "scrums" than receivers (typically).
  3. Blue on blue White on white Blue on white White on blue Red on red Where are the other three?
  4. Oh I did not remember this at all, but it's beautiful. Peyton screwed the Jets!
  5. I'll ignore the lazy "it was only the Jets" responses and say that a leader is a leader -- they don't pick and choose when to lead. Maybe it just suddenly hit Jerry that he wasn't going to let the defense sulk because he knows his days as an impact player at DE are numbered and this team gives him the best opportunity he's ever had to chase a championship. Whatever the case, I'll take another three and a half months of 4th quarter Jerry.
  6. Despite the Bills’ struggles I was surprised to see the line at only -3.5 this morning...opened at -3 so there is a bit of sharp money coming in on Buffalo. Man, there is SO much respect for Belichick. People really think he’ll turn that chicken poop roster into chicken salad.
  7. I hear ya, James, and I'm typically on board with that sentiment. That said, not taking advantage of the opportunity this week presents would, for multiple reasons, be extremely disappointing and remove much (if not most) of the optimism surrounding McD/Beane and what we thought the Bills were becoming. Yes, it's only one game, but it's an awful big one for the Bills' fan base.
  8. I don't have any hard data to back up this "gut feeling" but I believe that some kickers take a bit of time to settle in to playing in the NFL. I feel like I recall stories of rookie kickers struggling but going on to have really good careers. Anyway, Bass is 6/8 from 40+ which I think anyone would accept. The problem is the 3/6 from 30-39, but if you add the 33-yard PATs he's 21/25 (84%). I'm chalking this up to Bass and Bojo becoming more and more comfortable with each other. Do we really think they don't look at the film of each snap/hold/kick and address any "laces out" issues? Yes, I will be holding my breath if Bass lines up for a 35-yard FG to tie or win a ballgame this season, but I still have confidence he could turn out to be a very good long-term kicker for the Bills.
  9. Oh, ok. I guess I was looking at the question being one of a guy who was never considered accurate before he got to the NFL and then changed that narrative. And Alex Smith wasn't that guy either.
  10. Brees was over 61% in college in the Big 10 (hardly a pass-happy conference back then) with nearly 1700 attempts. I don't think he was ever considered inaccurate.
  11. Reminds me of Marv's famous quote, which was something along the lines of "if you play to the whims of the fans, you'll soon be sitting with them."
  12. There are no excuses if the Bills win. Beating the Pats*** in a game that matters to Buffalo is all that matters.
  13. I took a week off of following the Bills last week. Wasn’t interested in the negativity I knew was abounding here and elsewhere and had nothing to look forward to about yesterday’s game. As long as they didn’t get further injured and Allen didn’t regress the sole purpose was just to get a W. It turns out the defense had a nice little revival and our kicker got a lot of practice. Job done. This week’s game vs. NE*** is a referendum on McD’s tenure as Bills coach. The Bills are much more talented and the Pats*** are an absolute mess. After giving KC all they could handle they’ve dropped two straight in miserable fashion. There is absolutely no excuse for this Bills team to lose to the Pats*** next week — not when they have the opportunity right in front of them to grab further control of the division (4-0), break the psychological chain of NE*** dominance, and bury the Pats*** into a 2-5 hole. This is it. Period.
  14. Haven’t read an article about the Bills this week, haven’t been on the board...just a feeling of dread after two huge letdown games and seeing all of the injuries pile up. Perfect storm this weekend to fall flat against a truly horrific Jets team and remind us we’re Bills fans. This week is a true test of the culture and mental fortitude McD has tried to instill. Anything less than a double-digit win will be a huge failure. For the first time in forever I’m going to miss at least the beginning of an early season Bills game to go golfing. If I finish my round and the Bills are trailing or it’s a tight game I don’t think I’ll watch. I simply don’t need that sort of depression in my life. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Less than two weeks ago I thought the team had turned the corner and was about to become one of the league “giants.” Now I don’t know if they’ll win another game. Of course, logic is telling me I’m overreacting and even good teams have bad weeks — look at SF getting blown out by the Fish and then dominating the Rams. But it’s the Bills, and they played SO badly in Tennessee and last Monday. Whatever. Go Bills.
  15. "This NFL-N Tom Pelissaro guy" is as connected as anyone and not a "clickbait" artist. No reason to discredit the report whatsoever. I mean, the inactives come out in 45 minutes!
  16. Umm, it's less than 3 hours to game time. You think Andy Reid just scrapped his game plan?
  17. I wasn't aware that knee injuries impacted field awareness. You learn something new every day I guess!
  18. Not only did they lose to the Broncos, Drew Lock tried to singlehandedly give them the game.
  19. Yes — I also caught the 16/35, 160 yd 0 TD 2 pick performance that would have had folks losing their freaking mind in here if the QB was Josh Allen. Rodgers is an all-time QB but his “my bad years are other guys’ career years” comments last week were bush league. Karma.
  20. This team loves to play the underdog. Missing three starters on D? They’ll probably have their best game of the season.
  21. I wish there was a pregame thread in which to discuss this.
  22. It's a hint. Don't get your panties in a wad.
  23. I'd say signs point to Tre not playing.
  24. I believe it has everything to do with the desire of the player. Those who want to put in the effort will see the results. Josh has dedicated himself to becoming the best quarterback he can be.
  25. Been fighting that battle for years on this board. NO. SUCH. THING.
