  1. You mean it wouldn't be as good of a hypothetical as asking Bills fans who the better QB is?
  2. No you're wanting to look at the totality of the situation and not the simple fact Cutler is better than Orton. You are denying it and then wanting to bring up contract information, which is valid but has nothing to do with comparing only the QB's skills.
  3. So in a poll given to NFL wide receivers they overwhelmingly say I want Orton throwing to me over Cutler?
  4. So Orton is the clear better QB over Cutler because you said so? What do you think an outside poll of non Bills and Bears fans would say? What do you think most commentators and/or experts would say? You feel most would say the Bills downgraded at QB for trading for Jay Cutler - if it were to happen? Howard Simon is on the radio right now saying Cutler is a clear upgrade of Orton.
  5. The stupid Bills. When will they ever learn how to put together a roster?
  6. The truth of the matter is we fans really don't have enough information to evaluate Marrone. Even if we we're privy to being at every practice and hear every word he says - that information is still subjective in terms of effect. IMO because we don't know much - he has to be judged on the only provable thing, wins and loses.
  7. With respect I don't think many are falling in love. I personally just recognize that we have to get a better at the position and the options are extremely limited. We can't go young and we can't go with Orton. So because of the crux we're in it's either someone like Cutler or EJ has to be the guy.
  8. To me his confidence was shot. I don't think the coaches did him any favors in that regard either. He looked lost, the offense was so vanilla so clearly the coaches didn't have confidence in him, and oh by the way don't you dare run - ever.
  9. I can certainly understand anyone's trepidation with Cutler. He's loaded with talent but is clearly not right in the head. He's the type of guy when the going gets tough he gets going. However we're already in that situation, where we don't have a QB that can win the game, but we have a defense that doesn't often put the QB in that situation. So if we had someone that could put up points and allow our defense to play with a lead it could work. I doubt there's much we can do beyond Cutler that makes sense and I see it has a huge long shot that we get that done. So my hope is EJ becomes the guy which is something most people have completely given up on, but I'm holding onto hope.
  10. But that's just it he's not 5-9 with us, but he is with them and they are a terrible team. You don't understand at all why folks would think Cutler is an upgrade over Orton - just comparing the two QB's?
  11. Maybe I can make it simpler for you. Do we win more games with Cutler or do they win more games with Orton, right now?
  12. I totally understand what you're saying but I think we can agree our team is ready to win now. Our options our likely to be very limited to upgrade the QB position. I think most would agree that it's the QB position that's keeping us from being a playoff team (which of course we're still not out of), but i'm sure you understand what I mean. I'm not in love with Cutler but given our limited options unfortunately we have to explore this. How would you feel about Orton and EJ fighting for the job next year?
  13. Incest is something unspeakable and hurtful to many people. I'd prefer if you would refrain from saying it.
  14. That's not my point. It's if you end up with a good player like Watkins it's worth giving up two first round picks regardless of what others have done at his position. Proof of this is if you could guarantee a player like Watkins I would trade two for one every other year.
  15. Because defense and a QB that just plays good wins championships. Right now we don't have a good player at that position.
  16. I know it's easy to compare Watkins to some of the other WR's picked later and compare their success and convince ourselves about what we should have done. But we all know it's nearly impossible to forecast these scenarios. To me I would trade 2 first round picks for 1 every other year if it meant that one player worked out. I believe Watkins has performed to that level for me to be 100% ok with having him.
  17. I thought Brandon sounded like a real like an amateur hot head today on Howard Simon's show.
  18. Hard to say if he was a miss at this point because its so early. Lets give the benefit of the doubt to the young man. It's not the easiest task to ask a 21 year old to step right into the NFL and be ready. Even second rounders often need time to develop.
  19. Yes he has and I've also been a big supporter. In my view after Quarterback - its the most difficult position on the field. Obviously being in the trenches is more physically demanding but pound for pound corner is a brutal position.
  20. All you hear is to go when you turn 50 but so many reports of issues are folks in their 40's. Clearly some of the reasons to go prior to 50 is seeing a symptom - like Christie, but it seems necessary to me to go earlier. I just turned 40 and I think I'm going to get checked.
  21. He can't at the moment. Oh nevermind he got it.
  22. Excellent point. Case in point Seattle last year. They just rough housed every time they played so it just got accepted as good football by the refs. Like you said if you play well in that gray area consistently you get away with it.
  23. I think we're so spoiled by Glenn and how quietly he's become one of the best tackles in the game - that when he slips a bit we act like somethings wrong with him. Philosophies change with new coaches and they effect every player.
  24. I don't think it's nice to hear an opponent say this. I'd rather they say the Bills players we're great today and kicked our butt.
