  1. I can certainly understand anyone's trepidation with Cutler. He's loaded with talent but is clearly not right in the head. He's the type of guy when the going gets tough he gets going. However we're already in that situation, where we don't have a QB that can win the game, but we have a defense that doesn't often put the QB in that situation. So if we had someone that could put up points and allow our defense to play with a lead it could work. I doubt there's much we can do beyond Cutler that makes sense and I see it has a huge long shot that we get that done. So my hope is EJ becomes the guy which is something most people have completely given up on, but I'm holding onto hope.
  2. But that's just it he's not 5-9 with us, but he is with them and they are a terrible team. You don't understand at all why folks would think Cutler is an upgrade over Orton - just comparing the two QB's?
  3. Maybe I can make it simpler for you. Do we win more games with Cutler or do they win more games with Orton, right now?
  4. I totally understand what you're saying but I think we can agree our team is ready to win now. Our options our likely to be very limited to upgrade the QB position. I think most would agree that it's the QB position that's keeping us from being a playoff team (which of course we're still not out of), but i'm sure you understand what I mean. I'm not in love with Cutler but given our limited options unfortunately we have to explore this. How would you feel about Orton and EJ fighting for the job next year?
  5. Incest is something unspeakable and hurtful to many people. I'd prefer if you would refrain from saying it.
  6. That's not my point. It's if you end up with a good player like Watkins it's worth giving up two first round picks regardless of what others have done at his position. Proof of this is if you could guarantee a player like Watkins I would trade two for one every other year.
  7. Because defense and a QB that just plays good wins championships. Right now we don't have a good player at that position.
  8. I know it's easy to compare Watkins to some of the other WR's picked later and compare their success and convince ourselves about what we should have done. But we all know it's nearly impossible to forecast these scenarios. To me I would trade 2 first round picks for 1 every other year if it meant that one player worked out. I believe Watkins has performed to that level for me to be 100% ok with having him.
  9. I thought Brandon sounded like a real like an amateur hot head today on Howard Simon's show.
  10. Hard to say if he was a miss at this point because its so early. Lets give the benefit of the doubt to the young man. It's not the easiest task to ask a 21 year old to step right into the NFL and be ready. Even second rounders often need time to develop.
  11. Yes he has and I've also been a big supporter. In my view after Quarterback - its the most difficult position on the field. Obviously being in the trenches is more physically demanding but pound for pound corner is a brutal position.
  12. All you hear is to go when you turn 50 but so many reports of issues are folks in their 40's. Clearly some of the reasons to go prior to 50 is seeing a symptom - like Christie, but it seems necessary to me to go earlier. I just turned 40 and I think I'm going to get checked.
  13. He can't at the moment. Oh nevermind he got it.
  14. Excellent point. Case in point Seattle last year. They just rough housed every time they played so it just got accepted as good football by the refs. Like you said if you play well in that gray area consistently you get away with it.
  15. I think we're so spoiled by Glenn and how quietly he's become one of the best tackles in the game - that when he slips a bit we act like somethings wrong with him. Philosophies change with new coaches and they effect every player.
  16. I don't think it's nice to hear an opponent say this. I'd rather they say the Bills players we're great today and kicked our butt.
  17. "Everybody knows a woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood."
  18. Anyone would look bad protecting Kyle Orton. To say Wood shouldn't be in the NFL is ridiculous.
  19. Pretty sure everyone so far except the OP has - fools?
  20. I could understand if he just lost the game or had just got done playing and was getting mobbed. They blew the team out and just came off a very nice victory. He was a backup and wasn't approached by many although some because he was thought of as the future. The smug way he wouldn't even acknowledge me - when this time on the field is clearly an opportunity for fans to interact with the players was ridiculous. I mean look I'm 40 years old I could give a crap that some kid doesn't care to acknowledge me, but it would have taken the same amount of effort to say, thanks I appreciate it.
  21. I went to a Clemson game while he was there. After the game fans are allowed to just walk the field freely so I approached Chad. Wearing a Bills hat and pointing to it I said "hey man I grew up watching your Uncle and I hope to see you do well and follow your career. Buffalo fans are rooting for you." He was a miserable jerk.
  22. "But we’re going up there to make a difference. We’re not going up there to stand in the owner’s box and look important. That’s not the gig.” Wow! For a city that definitely doesn't rely on it, Buffalo got lucky with this man.
  23. I didn't know you had to mail anything in after 5,000 posts. Well I'm staying short of that then.
  24. The most frustrating thing for me is no matter our record the QB situation is still not figured out. If we went 8-8 or 9-7 and it was clearer that EJ was the answer - IMO it would be a hugely successful season. To me going 10-6 with Orton means little.
