Incognito as a cheap fix at Guard??
White Linen replied to gball77's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me there's no such thing as someone already having enough chances to get it right. I think a person should be forgiven as many times as they want to be. No different than I want the almighty to forgive me for as many times as I ask. He's just to forgive and I have to act in the same way, otherwise I'd be the definition of a hypocrite. I'm by no means the authority on anything but I too think the story was ridiculous but If I had to guess it was typical banter that goes on. Certainly it went too far. I'd hate for someone to intercept my texts between me and my friends - and worse I'd hate for them to think I was actually being serious. -
David Lee comments on Geno vs EJ
White Linen replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I the only one that thought Lee sounded more like a tv commentator than a QB coach? I thought him being that outspoken about Geno was a bit unprofessional. He didn't even bother to say (at least in this articles quotes), that we couldn't get Geno to be more consistent. Your QB's were terrible Lee and you were the QB coach, you need to own some of it. On another note I can't think of anything more troubling than a young QB, a rookie NFL head coach, and a rookie NFL offensive coordinator. How exactly was that supposed to go well? I'm one of the few that thinks EJ still has a good chance to work out. Especially with an experienced coordinator and staff. -

Incognito as a cheap fix at Guard??
White Linen replied to gball77's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying I believe he shouldn't get the chance to play, I don't think any team will. I guess I know as much about it that I read and was reported at the time. Why do you ask? -
Even MORE Inflation Issues for Pats*
White Linen replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly he's joking but when you are one of the best it's just not going to come off as funny. Only someone who isn't the best can joke about that - not someone who is actually in the discussion. -
His players past and present love him.

Incognito as a cheap fix at Guard??
White Linen replied to gball77's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know how he'd be after not playing for so long, but if we're honest he can definitely play football at a reasonably high level. In other words he's good enough to still be playing in the NFL. What he did was so egregious that he won't get the chance. -
Marrone hired as Jags OL coach
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's our ex head coach that quit right after our season ended. -
Why isn't Jim Schwartz hired yet?
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember Schwartz wanting to take some time off after getting fired in Detroit. The Bills lured him into taking the DC job and it could be that he's let it be known he's going to take that time off now. -
New England Patriots caught deflating game balls

They deflated the balls in the elevator and it's impossible to know what happens in elevators. -
Excellent post!

The Five Most Overrated Players In The NFL
White Linen replied to sferris's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course CJ has multiple limitations. My main concern is the offense has to limit his touches because the probability of him getting injured increases. He just cannot carry a load. In saying that if he's on your team it seems you could find ways to use him and that's what frustrated me most of the time. His homerun ability is without question and as the article suggests he's special in terms of acceleration. In summary, if he's on my team I find a way to use his explosiveness - if he's a free agent I don't touch him because I have to devote way too much time figuring out when I can and can't use him. -
What is a fair way to judge a hew hire?
White Linen replied to klos63's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a million different ways to look at this and there's so much criteria you could look at it makes my head spin. Most would agree that if you have a top QB things get expeditiously easier on coaches to win. It can make coaching mistakes easier for a team to absorb - so if you don't have a top QB those mistakes become much more difficult to overcome in a given game and season for that matter. The front office missing on draft picks, failing in free agency, getting the club in salary cap trouble all contributes to coaches ability to succeed or fail. My point is we have a capable coach. Rex has a vast amount of experience and has been around NFL football for a very long time and his knowledge is not debatable. So IMO all things need to come together. We can win even if we solve the QB situation in the short term because Rex has the ability to lead a team. If we can solve the QB situation long term we can become a perennial contending team. My message to fellow Bills fans is enjoy the opportunity to see what this fantastic coach can do. We all know everything may not come together but if a lot does we will be a team that can win. It's much harder but there's examples of teams without a top QB that make runs or even win the super bowl and that's our situation. We have an extremely talented roster that I'd argue is as loaded as any of the great teams in the NFL. I believe we have the right coach for a team without a proven QB that gives us that chance to be one of the few teams without one to succeed. -

Why what's wrong with him trying to get some traffic? He did it in a similar way a normal poster would so pretty smart and he's not doing anything out of line. -

But I don't think you're taking this into account "I would rather he being looking at the best he can not just those he know." -
NFL launches veteran FA combine
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea. It would appear that all the question marks or perceptions you have about a veteran could be answered by seeing them on the field. -
Back to the 34 ... again
White Linen replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think anyone's worried. It's just interesting to see what tweaks are made in terms of personnel. Does Kyle become a situational player or does he do exactly what he's done in the past where he is just so good at what he does you can't take him off the field. Does Mario get asked to drop back? Does a player like Spikes no longer have a role and resigning him doesn't make sense? Where exactly does Preston Brown fit in? We haven't seen Kiko in an outside role because he got hurt and his rookie year he was asked to play inside? It's just conversation man not necessarily panic. -
Rex explains why he freed Schwartz to go elsewhere
White Linen replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could you imagine the same scenario but leaving Marrone in a learch? Now we have Marrone, Hackett and some LB coach from a donkey team that Doug knows as our DC. -
Pegula's Ownership Era Off To A Great Start !!
White Linen replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree totally. If our defense were to perform like it did last year under Schwartz he'd most assuredly be up for head coaching jobs. I can't imagine being happy with Marrone as head coach without Schwartz. To me that's what most fans should focus on instead of just losing Schwartz alone. Great job by the Pegula's to take the opportunity Marrone gave them by getting a sure fire head coach. -

White Linen replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Schwartz had one more year like last year IMO he'd be up for head coaching jobs and we'd lose him anyway. I just didn't see a way Schwartz stays around for 5 years, so I'd rather have Rex Ryan than be left with Marrone as head coach without Schwartz. -

Yes and that 4th down lineman would be Hughes or if they get a 5 technique as you suggest it would effect either Kyle or Marcell. So that leaves 3 linebacker spots. My point is you would need Spikes on running downs to shed blocks and sniff out the run. I think Preston could serve in that role but I think Spikes is better suited for it with Kiko and Nigel on the either side of him. I just don't think Nigel, Brown, and Kiko would be fighting for 2 spots, they'd be playing a lot and if Spikes is retained he'd serve in the same role as last season. In otherwords I don't think Mario will be a LB he'd be identified as one of the down lineman, although I do think he may be asked in certain alignments to drop back but then Hughes would be down with 3 LB's on the field.
