It's a tough position for the Bills. His name was put up there prior to everything that transpired. He wasn't convicted so what would the Bills do "well we know he did it so we're taking his name down". I think the organization is as embarrassed by his name being up there as we are. I think the best thing to do is just leave him off any recognition of past players in the new stadium and they can come up with a PC reason to not include him.

Polian's Advice to the Pegulas
White Linen replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When he said that I believe he had already been coaching for 12-13 years. IMO more power in personal decisions is earned and doesn't usually come after a 6-10 year one and then quit the next year because you weren't listened to. If this is true Marrone has serious psychological issues. -
Brady to the Bills ????? Possibility?
White Linen replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while. There is no New England system, dynasty, whatever without Tom Brady. He is the majority reason for their success. -
Head Coach Candidate: Bill Cowher

Ingenuity and innovative are such over hyped terms. Winning in the NFL is more simple than that. The best QB's in the game give their team a chance to win a championship. Then it's about the simple yet complex things like execution, dedication, hard work, commitment and those are the things excellent coaches get out of their players. They have a great relationship with their excellent QB and everyone falls in line and they win games. -
LAMP: When I'm Wrong, I Say I'm Wrong.

Why does either quitting or coming back warrant an announcement? Just do what you have to do and realize it doesn't effect or matter to anyone but yourself. You post this as if everyone should remember that you left after the Raiders game. -
Marrone was upset at the Buffalo Media
White Linen replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I get your point but your kind of backhanding WGR too. Not sure if you've had the opportunity to listen to much local coverage outside of Buffalo but if you haven't you should. Buffalo does a darn good job. I live in Charlotte and listening to this local media about the Panthers is pathetic. I literally cannot listen to it anymore and I used to most mornings. I found the coverage today especially by Sal and then by Simon to be excellent and level headed. -
Mort: Polian tells Pegula he will remain at ESPN

Oh cry me a river. Good grief we're back to this again? Get over yourself. Would you take a great paying job with the Bills? -
Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich
White Linen replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's more than just the comeback it's that a lot of people in the area know him and what he's all about. To me being a head coach in the NFL is about management and communication. I happen to think Reich excels in those areas and based on reports that's how he's described. Look man the game is complex and simple at the same time. To me it boils down to a few things and the most important is QB, we most likely are going to need to have one play better than any expectations - and then it comes down to a coach that can keep things managed well on and off the field with great communication skills. To me Reich is at least worth a look because he played QB and it would stand to reason he would be qualified to help one develop and everyone speaks volumes of how he communicates and gets his point across. -
Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich
White Linen replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily but I think it's just as much of a roll of the dice as an experienced head coach. Obviously if it was someone like Gruden or Cowher that certainly changes because I guess we'd categorize them as experienced with huge success. But to just say I'd rather have someone that was a head coach in general over someone like Reich my answer would be not necessarily and it's still a roll of the dice. -
Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich

I understand what you're saying and there's certainly an argument for wanting experience, but every coach has to start with little experience even as a head coach and there's many examples. To say Reich is unqualified isn't IMO accurate. When you've played and been around the league in a coaching capacity your qualified. So to me a discussion can be had about experience vs someone getting an opportunity, but there's as many examples of experienced guys not working out as new one's not working out. -
Who will Pollian get for QB ?
White Linen replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reports are that Polian will be taking over Nix's role but of course we won't know until January apparently because of commitments he has. Whaley made it clear in the season ending press conference that he's in charge of the 53 and the coach is in charge of the 46. To me that translates to the GM makes the decisions on what players are acquired and let go. I don't think it will be the coach or OC's decision although I'm sure questions will be asked of whoever that will be. I do however believe that if Polian is confirmed and Whaley stays as GM that Polian will be heavily involved in the player acquisition decisions. I know he hasn't been making GM decisions for years and years but he has at least been commentating on what teams should do as part of his role with ESPN, so clearly he has been staying current with players. I believe he'll have some insight on who we should go after. My guess is that it will be a young player that has been in the league but isn't playing. I hope its someone like Zac Dysert or Osweiler. -
The only thing that's going to factor into Hughes resigning is if the moneys right. If they can't get a long term deal done I believe they will franchise him with the purpose of working on a long term deal. I remember Polian saying beyond quarterback the next most important position and the the next most worthy of spending money on is someone that puts pressure on the QB. It was an awesome segment between him and Parcells on ESPN and it was excellent.

I think it's either Schwartz or Reich.

Erin Andrews date or Bills home playoff game?
White Linen replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A date? Whatever! I'm married but even if I was single it would take a bit more than that. Any playoff game. -
what are chances Hughes gives Bills hometown discount ??
White Linen replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about it actually getting asked but it exists. Sometimes you have to leave your current employer to get paid what you're worth, but sometimes you stay because there's other things you like more than the pay, or you're just comfortable. -
Which shouldn't be too hard to do and then we won't have to rally around EJ.
