He wouldn't take anyone's role because we don't have anyone in that role. He would however effect how we play and hence playing time. He would essentially move Kyle and Dareus to end with either Mario or Hughes with a hand in the dirt or both to LB. When Mario and Hughes are used as down lineman or the threat of it Kyle Williams comes out. I think Kyle would be effected most in terms of playing time.

I like Mercedes Lewis, Hali if Hughes can't get done and Beason as a nice locker room guy/excellent back up.

CJ isn't even close to Charles. CJ has as much talent as Jamaal and in his prime Chris Johnson but lacks the overall toughness in his running. Those two small backs do what's necessary inside to take advantage of what they do at the second level. CJ gets hurt when contact is made, when he contacts the ground, and even when he doesn't make contact with anything. I think what I hope CJ could be and what he is are two totally different things.

Bowe is seriously not good. He's a non athletic big man, with not enough speed to separate from DB's, and awful hands.

And how does that make you a bust then? So you have to pick one - give him time to get healthy and prove himself - or you don't think he'll have the chance to because of injuries. Neither is a bust situation.

I met Spikes about a Month ago and he genuinely sounded like he wanted to be back and play for Rex.

I'm thinking there's 3 LB spots between them. I think Mario will be one of the 3 down lineman. It appears we may be closing in on signing Hughes. No matter what I still think there's always room for a run stuffing LB to play in either scheme.

What does Mario get out of agreeing to that?

I can't express how happy I am that we have Rex as our coach. I thought I'd mostly enjoy the attention and maybe even a bit of the "circus" excitement he'd bring. But now I'm realizing what a grounded and principled person he is.

Hmm and no mention of it costing too much to get him? That's because it's worth it to end up with a player to build around like him.

I honestly really like most of them. I get the traditional thing too though. I think ours would need the base color white, then I'd be cool with it.

Don't get me wrong I really like Hughes but if we bring in Revis the pass rush would flourish without him. I would be an advocate for franchise tagging Hughes with the intention of only keeping him for one more year, so that all that money could go to Dareus.

I think it's more about the initial thought you get in your mind about McCown being the starting QB. I'm not saying he will be and I understand he hasn't signed yet - and even if he is it's not that he is the only one we can bring in/sign. Nevertheless that initial thought that automatically pops into your head is frightening.

I don't think there's the interest by the Jets for Spiller people think. Chris Johnson is 29 and proof that being that small is very difficult to last. CJ has already had a significant injury prone past and couldn't sniff Johnson's jock.
