The comment was "we need a pass catching tight end." But we don't have any blocking tight ends and only pass catching tight ends on our team. Who's going to block? So you think because we didn't sign Smith it's not a concern?
My point was I think we want a pass catching tight end but I think they view blocking just as important. Especially if plays like this are going to work.

There's no doubt in my mind that each player is on level ground. I think it's the Seattle approach and no matter what any preconceived thoughts are - whoever wins the job gets the job. I believe EJ will emerge and play very well for us this year.
The nice thing is you can clearly see the game plan. Run the ball - surround the QB with such exceptional talent that it's not on his shoulders to make plays where there isn't one - athletic short yardage specialists that create long plays instead of having to throw long to have a big play - take care of the ball.
Yeah and that's the ebb and flow of NFL contracts. Bottom line is the high paid talent has to play like it or the team moves on. I understand not without penalty but they're contracts probably aren't a lot different than any other teams in terms of being able to sign Clay and it substantially hurting their team long term.
I get aggravated when threads like this are started. I would bet that almost all of us are not qualified to make statements like moving a center to guard because we watch the games. Wood takes on the largest man on any given defense and we act like he should never get blown up. There's 5 offensive lineman and TE's and 3-5 defensive lineman for a reason - they're supposed to help each other, so to say guards don't help centers is just ridiculous.
According to spotrac your kind of way off for 2015. I add up 29.3 million for those 4 players. Now they have some other huge chunks taking up cap room like Ellerbe, Albert, Grimmes, and Wake this year.
Amazing how Fitz has carved out a nice little career for himself. There's been dozen's of QB's that have had more talent than him that faded away after a few years.
I agree. The entire division is elevated at the moment. I'm not sure if it's better for everyone to gun at the Patriots for the Bills to bring their divisional record down or if it's worse because it elevates more teams towards the wild card.
