Mike Priefer new ST coach for Browns
White Linen replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe you are correct. Not because they can't coach but there isn't much left to coach. Next year, I think we'll see the kickoff rules applied to punts - then it'll really be an uncoachable part of the game. "Wedge-blocking, employed on 78 percent of kickoff returns last season, was eliminated, as was the 5-yard running start previously afforded to the coverage teams. Players were re-aligned so that only three members of the return team could be more than 15 yards from the restraining line, creating a punt-like environment of running with opponents rather than at them. And officials were instructed to rule the ball dead if it bounced in the end zone, an attempt to encourage players to stand down their blocks earlier." "The memo reported that injuries on kickoffs have decreased, including zero concussions during the preseason, and noted that wedge blocks have been virtually jettisoned. Contact between blockers, meanwhile, has transferred from high-speed collisions at the back end to slower-speed interactions closer to midfield. Although there has been no final decision, it would require a significant reversal of those trends to prompt the elimination of the kickoff for next season." -
Star Lotuleilei has played like a star of late
White Linen replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read that post when it was first written. Weak attempt, IMO, at making Star seem like he was concentrated on by the Pats. He got owned one on one, was totally out of position and was not a force that needed to be double teamed. He couldn't shed a block in that game and it was down right embarrassing. I see him as an awful interior lineman and it has nothing to do with how much we're paying him. He does not take up two blockers consistently and does not create for our LB's. He does very very little well. -
Bills fire OL Coach Juan Castillo
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for this eball. This is a much better perspective than judging him on what he did this year - given the fact they didn't give him much to work with and some unfortunate stuff like Cog's and Wood. -
Are the Bills satisfied with their current RB's ??
White Linen replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think there's any scenario where we draft a RB in the second round. -
Shaq Lawson 5th year option on the table
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it hard to pick up that option for a situational defensive end whose specialty isn't pass rushing. He's in on about 44% of the defensive snaps and I think a lot of that was due to injuries. I think he's done a decent job of contributing. Now if they can work themselves out of the Murphy contract - that may be a scenario I can see them wanting a 1 year band aid. -
II think the new NFL has as many or more legitimate LDE pass rushers. There's a slight edge to the LT needing to be better because of the blind side factor but that gap has closed significantly.

7 out of 10 losses against Playoff bound opponents.
White Linen replied to ImpactCorey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not many of us thought they were a team talented enough to make the 2017 playoffs. That's good news, don't spin it. -

"Barfalo" and being proud of our history is a strange combo. -
I don't think so either.

Cincinnati Bengals: HC Marvin Lewis fired
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked that the Bengals gave him a long tenure. This firing coaches every 2-3 years is getting ridiculous. -

Tom Coughlin offended by... what, exactly?

Marrone deserves another chance to run every down with a different QB. -

It was in response to the runoff - therefor completely on point and appropriate. Raiders relocating was the topic, this was a horrible and pointless runoff here. -
A tough week for Buffalo Sports Teams
White Linen replied to Big Curt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have a young QB that is at least clearly worth building around. He's, imo, not a dud, it's just a matter of how good can he get. We have tons and I mean tons of cap space and all our best players are young. We have a forward thinking owner that is 100% willing to deploy all resources. We have several star players on the Sabres and they're maturing before our eyes and playing at an unbelievable level, surprising even the most ardent Sabres fans. We have tons and I mean tons of cap space and all our best players are young. We have 3 first round picks in the next draft or 2 in the next and 2 the year after - so we'll be able to sustain winning. Jesus' birthday is tomorrow. Tapping into the benefit of his birth, life, death and resurrection is available to anyone in a country where we can choose who we worship. -

Yeah, like the topics aren't fluid within every thread. -
Star was embarrassing today. It's easy to set up a youtube video with clips. Put yours together and I'll add to mine on Star. He's not good and it's pretty obvious.

Exactly, so just let it play out and let's see before you go complaining about the owners that saved two teams for Buffalo NY.
