I almost disagreed with you, until I stopped being lazy and read your second paragraph. It's so hard to imagine a worse scenario for Beldsoe to succeed with the moves they pulled. Drafting a solid tackle with the picks they had could have made all the difference.

Predict the Score: Titans at Bills
Homey D. Clown replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After 20 years of soul crushing, vomit inducing seasons, can you really blame anyone? If you remove the Jim Kelly seasons, this team is statistically worse than the Washington Generals. I'll accept your post as a statement of fact. -

31 - 6 Titans. It's not that they are that good, it's that the Bills are that bad. -
Hello From A Titans Fan -- Titans Come to Town
Homey D. Clown replied to KitchenerKaizer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Welcome to the forum, I live in Tennessee now as a transplant from Buffalo, so I know a bit about how your team is doing. If you're travelling to the game remember one thing.... no.... two things. 1. It's Duffs wings first, every other wing place second, THEN Anchor bar. 2. Consider this a bye week where you get a free W in the win column. Do me a huge favor though, please tell Jared and the GM to move on to discussing the Ravens, there's really no point in murdering local listener's ears on pointless strategy against this Bills team. it's simple, show up and just apply a little pressure on the offensive line and 60 minutes later leave with the W. -
While I'm not one of those fans who rooted against the Bills, I certainly didn't pick them to win. They gave me no reason, and just because they put a decent game together this week doesn't mean I'm picking them to win this week. Actually, I'm not. I actually don't think losing helps the team grow, nor do I care about picking in the draft early, so if they win, great, and I'm happy. If they lose, I'm upset, and want to see some sort of growth. For 20 years, it's been this, wash, rinse repeat story. Either win a decent amount of games or tank. 4-7 wins a year blows.

I still believe that McDermott is the best coach for this team for the foreseeable future. Now, I will admit I called for a 44 - 6 beatdown at the hands of the Vikings in another thread too. Just because we beat the Vikings doesn't mean I think this team is going to win against the packer either. Show me they can win consistently please. And no, we're all not the worst Bills fans in recent history, for 20 years I have watched this team flounder year after year with abysmal results. I have driven to buffalo for home openers, sat in the stadium for that 56 - 7 beatdown at the hands of the PayToilets, and I live 700 miles away. We're all just a little sick of the losing, and of the garbage product. I, for one, can't blame anyone.

The Bills gained an angel yesterday

I have a 14 month old daughter, and another girl on the way, to say this breaks my heart doesn't do those words justice. May God's loving grace welcome her home. -
I guess a coach can't bench a black QB anymore even if he stinks (Yes, I thought Taylor stunk)... so tired of everything being blown out of proportion. There were a lot of things Nate did very well in preseason last year that opened a lot of eyes, and it was a gamble. Same thing in preseason this year, so he went with peterman again. Sadly, the guy just crumbles under live action, but Taylor was benched because he couldn't throw for more than 179 yards a game. Maybe McDermott went with Nathan Peterman again this year because he's whiter than Allen!!

I wonder which veteran Jim Kelly had on the roster when we finally got him into a Bill uni..... Yep.... keep searching for one... -
Is anyone THAT upset being 0-2?
Homey D. Clown replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully expected a loss, having the same hope for the future too. I actually trust the process McDermott preaches even more today. I think everyone needs to take a step back and look at what happened to the offensive line in the off-season and understand that it happened so fast, and probably after a full draft strategy had already been formulated. there are so many thin spots on this team, there really weren't any opportunities to fix the O-line. I think any avid football fan knew we were in for a rough ride this year. -
How soon till Vonte can be on the Wall Of Fame?
Homey D. Clown replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see how a guy who doesn't feel like he's 100% anymore embarrasses this team in any way. -
To answer your question in your title, it's simple. Peterman looked great in both preseasons, and to be honest, Tyrod Taylor was not very good at pushing the ball don field. I don't think the guy had more than 250 yards passing last year, and if he did, it wasn't often enough. This year, Peterman looked very capable of running the offense after a strong preseason showing, easily outperforming everyone else. I don't blame McDermott for that, Peterman simply gets overwhelmed when the real game speed and defensive schemes are in front of him. Think of it this way, how good were you at your job on your second day? Game day speed is different than practice. Dumping on a QB with less than 2 full games experience seems out of line in my book. That's not a vote of confidence that he'll be any good, nor is it an indictment that he'll bomb out of the league. It's simply the bare bones truth.

You CAN"T cut Peterman. The Raiders will eventually send us a pick or 2 for him in the offseason...

Who are we competing with for the #1 overall pick?
Homey D. Clown replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're competing with the Ottawa RoughRiders for the #1 overall pick. -
I saw all I needed to see in the Cincinnati pre-season game. You extend that game out 4 quarters and it looks exactly like the Ravens beating. I had the Bill losing by a score of 40 - 7, man was I dead wrong. the gutting of the offensive line was simply not addressed, the defensive line looks weak and incapable of any pass rush, and now the secondary looks putrid. Toss onto this a WR group that couldn't start for another NFL team and you have the makings of an 0-16, or if we're lucky a 2-14 campaign. I love optimism like anyone else, but this team blows large chunks of dead camel. The sky fell 3 weeks ago.

Add JP Losman, Joe dufek, Bruce Mathison, cap'n checkdown, and the statue, drew Bledsoe, BUT only if he's throwing left-handed.

I thought there were several other threads asking this.... To answer your question though, none. Zero percent. When this team sucked, it was genuine. In fact, never have I thought this, or to even ask the question. The Bills generally keep it honest for us fans when they suck, leaving nothing to ambiguity. That's what endears us to them, their honesty.

The thread for Positive Pollyannas!
Homey D. Clown replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our offensive line was, well, offensive. It will probably get McCoy killed, Peterman killed, Allen killed, and anyone else standing behind it. The secondary looked abysmal against a decent offense in Cincinnati, and they're supposed to be the team's greatest strength. Logic says the team should blow large chunks of dead horse, so the talking heads arent'; really to blame here. On a positive note (staying true to this thread's intent) I think Nathan Peterman will perform very well, in fact, he may develop a decent NFL career, and I don't think the team is going to finish 31st in the rankings at the end of the year. -
I applaud the analysis and insight on Peterman, and I actually liked what I saw him do in preseason last year, as well as this year.... BUT This is TBD forums.... Everyone here hates Peterman, because well, you know, 5 interceptions, like once that happens, you cut him. I personally can see the comparison, but you're fishing with bait in a barrel full of dead fish.
