  1. Maybe none. I voted Belichick, but without one, the other wouldn't be anywhere near as successful. The Pats got the right combination between the two, whether luck or very keen insight...not sure which. If you're not cheating, you're not trying...
  2. Tomlin won once, the 2008 Steelers beat the Cardinals. Cowher's 2005 Steeler team beat the Seahawks. Cowher retired in January, 2007.
  3. Here is a link to the live leaderboard: http://www.scoring.r2it.com/golf/acc/Leaderboard.aspx Kyle didn't have the best round 1, but round 2 looks better. Romo is still the guy to beat, currently the leader and defending champion.
  4. In fairness to McDermott, McVay had most of the pieces in place when he became the Rams HC. He did bring an innovative offensive approach that took advantage of Goff's strengths and allowed them to excel. McDermott on the other hand wanted a major renovation of the team he inherited, including finding the most critical piece - QB. I agree with you that at this point, McDermott is still potential and this year should say a lot about what to expect in the following two years.
  5. 18 games will not fly with the Player's Association. If the two parties settle on an 18 week season, with 2 bye-weeks, I can see that happening.
  6. Happy Birthday, Shady. That snow game against the Colts is exactly why I would want an stadium sans roof.
  7. Creamy peanut butter. This should probably be in Off The Wall, though.
  8. Very true. Nothing would make me happier than watching them go down and all of NE cry in their chowdah.
  9. This year? Doubt it. I think in the 2020 season we have a better shot.
  10. This guy. He built a team of them, or so he says...
  11. Apparently Richard Seymour is a pretty good poker player. He made a good run at the 2019 World Series of Poker, but was eliminated on Wednesday. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ex-patriots-star-makes-an-impressive-and-deep-run-at-2019-world-series-of-poker-but-is-eliminated/ "Although Seymour was happy with his decisions, he'll likely be regretting at least one of them. At one point on Wednesday, Seymour got dealt pocket 10s on a hand where he was going up against an opponent who had 6-5 offsuit. The percentages were in Seymour's favor, but he decided to fold after his opponent went all-in following the flop."
  12. Agree, especially in Elway's younger years. Later in his career he slid more.
  13. That is interesting. Who is valued more in that safety tandem, Poyer or Hyde? At this juncture, my guess would be Hyde.
  14. What a dump. Who would want to live there? Maybe I'll offer $49 as a symbolic gesture. Looks move in ready.
  15. They'll try and re-sign as many of the guys they drafted as possible, as well as FA's they picked up in the recent past. I doubt Beane will want a large player turnover and will try to limit that, especially with "their guys." Players like Tre White, Poyer, Hyde, and Milano I expect to be re-signed. Then there are guys on the bubble such as Dion Dawkins and Shaq Lawson, where this is a "prove it" year. If those players show improvement and look to be trending up, they will should be kept. If not, they are expendable. In general, Beane said he wants to build primarily through the draft, so it makes sense to keep as many of the guys he drafted as he can for long term veteran status.
  16. Right. I have not heard of anyone going over the American side, though I'm not sure I'd want to. That would be a mess.
  17. https://www.foxnews.com/world/man-survives-niagara-falls-plunge The man -- who Niagara Parks Police say appeared to be "in crisis" before jumping into the river on the Canadian side -- was observed going over the Horseshoe Falls around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. He then fell around 167 feet before hitting the water below. His plunge Tuesday comes 59 years to the day that 7-year-old Roger Woodward went over the falls with a life jacket, and also survived.
  18. From what I gather, Pollard wasn't the best locker room guy who wasn't the best influence on younger guys. After the 2012 season, John Harbaugh released Pollard and it was not for lack of talent.
  19. Feel bad for this young man. He was hoping to make the team after being a seventh round draft pick and cut from Carolina. Doubt he'll be able to have full use of his arm, let alone play again, if they can re-attach the arm. I'm surprised an EMT has the pain numbing drugs and equipment to remove an arm on site.
  20. Is that even possible? I thought once a limb was removed, it is gone for good.
  21. Of the five listed, the Bears are probably not too far off. But the others, no way. He was an ex-Pats assistant coach, that's why. Anyone coming from the Patriots gets the benefit of the doubt, then they flame out.
  22. I understand he is popular with a specific demographic. The biggest problem I see is that Nike is so big, it has multiple demographics which may take exception to pulling a shoe because it has a Betsy Ross flag on it. What if Nike becomes unpopular (for some reason) with a demographic? If it loses others because of this instance, Nike could end up losing a lot of business, sponsors, etc and be replaced by New Balance, Adidas, Under Armor and the like...no shortage of competitors. Nike will not go under, but it will have a PR problem that will take a while to resolve and business to win back. For example, Michael Jordan did not disparage political affiliations he did not agree with because he said those folks need to buy shoes, too. The Air Jordan was successful and not polarizing...it simply targeted basketball players. Brands of any product are wise to avoid targeting one primary group of people, and especially activists, since it is just not good business. Focus on sports only.
  23. It's dumbfounding why Nike listens to Kapernick, who is an extremely polarizing figure that will never play football again. And the few seasons he played, he had marginal success. Nike is a huge international name, but pulling a shoe because Kaperdick cried is not a winning strategy.
