IF the Bills go 4-12, the Pegulas have to consider firing McDermott. This record is hard to see unless there are a lot of injuries. I'm not sure how serious to take this article. Take this line: "Just trailing McDermott were former Bills head coach and current Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone (71%) and first-year Dolphins coach Brian Flores (67%)." The Dolphins want to tank, they expect to suck; 4-12 would be disappointing because it is too good to get the #1 overall draft pick in 2020. This year is about planning for the future. Flores is safe for a couple more years.

One does have to wonder if JeffIsMagic = Zerovoltz Andy Reid will have to overcome himself in the playoffs. They might be good enough to do that.

This has homer post written all over it. I do think KC goes to the SB this year, but will not have a perfect season; they're not quite THAT good. I also do not think GB or Carolina win their divisions; Chicago wins the NFC North and NO wins the NFC South. GB will not make the playoffs, Carolina will be 50/50 to making the playoffs.

That's fine, I also have more important things to deal with. Just as long as you realize Morse retiring after another concussion is a real possibility.
-
Will you be concerned when (not if) Morse gets his next concussion and is out for six weeks? I wonder if the NFL will let him wear the red jersey for regular season games.

I get your point. To me, the difference maker is Bill Belichick. He finds weaknesses in opponents and schemes to exploit them. That is why it is hard to take the under against the Pats. I can't wait for the day when Brady is gone and they struggle to be even 9-7.

Good analysis, Gunner. The thing I differ on is that I think we can take the Ravens game in Buffalo. Yes, John Harbaugh has his teams prepared and their defense will be good, but I don't their offense will be good enough this year. We will be able to run on the Ravens, which will open up the passing game later in the game. I also think we lose a game somewhere that we should win, maybe against the Jets or Cleveland. 10-6 with a playoff birth.

People probably thought the Kiko in the Chunky Soup commercials was the real Kiko, a kind of dumb but likable guy. I didn't think he was dirty when he was in Buffalo, just a little overrated. Kiko is just a dirty player now.

Pats release long time punter Ryan Allen

Let's not go crazy about the field goal part...Gostkowski is pretty good. Let Tom punt so he can pull a hamstring. -

Least utilized guy on their team. Maybe they could get away without a punter. -
Who could we realistically trade Zay or Shady for?
Happy replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can we just stop with this. Shady and Zay are worth way more here than they would fetch in a trade with another team. -
Not surprised, but unfortunate. EJ is a very good CB when healthy, with healthy being the operative word. He will probably get another chance elsewhere, though I suspect he will never be an impact player with his recurring injuries. Too many good young CBs in Buffalo to keep a guy who would be a fixture on the IR.

10 observations Bills v. Panthers
Happy replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. I should have thought about special teams scheme. Sounds like Houshka and our punter just have some kinks to work out. -
I hope you are correct. Last year they did not exactly do this, though maybe that changes this year. McD made a comment earlier this offseason to the effect of wanting to see QB pressures. Frazier has to play a more aggressive defense than what he did last year.

I think at this point they are relying on Trent Murphy and the rookie Daryl Johnson to generate an edge rush across from Hughes. We'll see how that plays out.

Is Haushka really struggling? This is the first I heard of this and am a bit surprised. -
He'll be banned again before the season is over. Will fail a MJ test like a dummy.

I think it will be a long football season
Happy replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, we should be better than 6 wins. I'm hoping for 10-6. And I agree, this will be a long season for Green Bay; but I can't feel too sorry going from Favre to Rodgers and winning a Super Bowl during our drought, not to mention many playoff appearances. -
Be careful about relying on Trent Murphy to be, and remain, healthy. Guys on steroids tend to stay and get hurt more often. As far as DE goes, I think our best hope is that Beane nailed it with Daryl Johnson.
-
So true. Most here seem to think a big name WR is a necessity every off season. IMO, that is a nicety, not a necessity. Then some wonder why we can't get pressure on the opposing QB when the DE position is neglected. Also true. But I have seen too many calls from posters to draft a "top rated" WR with the first pick, even though it would end up being an overdraft.
