  1. I love those old NFL Films videos. Plus hearing Ed Sabol narrate it takes one back in time. Pretty cool.
  2. Further, McD recently said he likes to see pressure on opposing QBs. If that is the case, he has to be disappointed in last year's defense from a pass rush perspective. It is possible he wasn't expecting a lot last year with injuries to Trent Murphy and Matt Milano later in the season, as well as having a very young rookie MLB. Going forward, I would take his comments to mean the pass rush will be dialed up, or at least I hope so. It seems that they're putting a lot of their eggs in the Trent Murphy basket, which is risky, IMO.
  3. Wow. Not good. Get rid of this guy immediate if the story checks out. Guy has emotional issues and he can't handle his liquor...threw up on her carpet. Side question: why keep $10,000 in a safe? Wouldn't a bank account be a better option? The money part could have been avoided.
  4. yeah, I was just thinking about that. Perhaps something Tahme should consider...more quality time with the family.
  5. I don't have a problem with what Brady said or him skipping voluntary workouts. He doesn't need to be there. If teams want ALL players there, then take the 'voluntary' out of it.
  6. I'm sure in his mind these women were fine, upstanding young ladies and not gold diggers ?
  7. 6-5, 260. Sounds like the next Gronk. We should be so lucky.
  8. Yes, the SB count is off by 1; should be XXVI
  9. Not exactly a new nickname...
  10. They just need someone else with a complicated last name to compliment Star.
  11. I think I misunderstood your initial post. Agree, the other owners would not want to share their suite and ticket sales revenue, nor should they. I was thinking TV revenue for some reason. That should continue to be shared, regardless of the argument that, say the Cowboys, bring in more viewers than the Bills.
  12. I think d-bag owners such as Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder, Robert Kraft will want to change this at the next CBA. There may still be revenue sharing, but I would guess the argument they'll make is that larger market teams bring in more revenue, so they should keep more of that revenue. It is the history of now, never mind how these small market teams were integral in making the NFL what it is now. That is lost on, and ignored, by many of today's owners. They completely discount the potential that maybe fans want to see tradition that made the NFL great, maintained.
  13. Both of these clowns...a 1-2 combination
  14. The bolded is possible, but probably only for the short term. A new stadium will not guarantee new longer term fans; winning will do that. As far as tailgating, I could see how both the Pegulas and the NFL would be concerned about things such as jumping on tables of fire. I don't think tailgating would be gone, rather it would be scaled down. I've been to multiple Ravens games (their stadium is about 20 years old) and there is tailgating allowed, but no dizzy bat races or table jumping, etc. It also helps that there are many restaurants and bars within walking distance from the Ravens stadium, which would support a new stadium being built in downtown Buffalo argument that would help the local establishments.
  15. Interesting thoughts regarding Tim Hortons, bus parking, etc examples. Very practical. I guess I was thinking along the lines of a "Jerry World" which would not be practical. My concern with a new stadium would be PSLs that a good number of current season ticket holders would not want to pay, corporate/luxury boxes that would go unfilled since there is not the corporate base in WNY as say Washington or Dallas, as well as potentially higher food and drink prices, etc. Larger metro areas can support this, but WNY can not. Perhaps Terry's comment to the effect of a new stadium not being a palace, but rather a "Buffalo style" stadium would set expectations. If the Pegulas and OBD are thinking along the lines of what you listed, then maybe a new stadium is a possibility. I'd imagine funding for it will be a bit of a battle with the state and local governments (taxpayers) since there is a smaller tax base now than say 30 years ago. I would also guess that what the county can do with the old Ralph could play into this, as well. If it has the potential to sit largely vacant, I can't imagine the county would want to invest too much into a new stadium. Either way, taking any kind of action, whether major renovations to New Era field or a completely new stadium, will not happen until after the CBA in 2020, which has the potential to be a mess.
  16. Out of curiosity, what are some of these bazillion other revenue opportunities that you speak of? Let us say for argument's sake that the Bills built a new open-air stadium (for apples to apples comparison) downtown, how would this help maximize the revenue...are new sponsors just going to flock to a new stadium? Just because there is a new stadium, does not mean there is a new, vibrant economy to support the higher costs, or help "maximize revenue." I cannot understand why some of these owners (who Goodell is a proxy for) do not get this simple concept.
  17. Agree. I don't understand the Bills need a new stadium argument. Higher ticket prices, PSLs people will not want to pay, corporate/luxury boxes that will go unfilled. I'm not sure the economy in western NY can support this. Goodell, and the 31 other owners, need to understand that not every city is NYC, LA, Dallas, etc. But they keep hammering at new stadiums year after year.
  18. Coaches: Rex and Rob Ryan Players: Aaron Maybin and Nate Peterman
  19. Phew...Just got through Rachel Bush's Hot Shots gallery. What was the question, again?
  20. Probably the truth. I doubt a first year HC in Freddie Kitchens keeps that team on the same page. I really didn't think it was possible for a Rolls Royce to be ugly; I guess you learn something new all the time.
  21. This^^^ @Ice bowl 67 let it go. There are a lot of posters on this board, and guess what...you are going to run into a few you that you will not get along with.
  22. RIP. Football legend. Not sure what else to say...
  23. But would Josh Allen want this?
  24. Great post. Love the optimism. Beane (really like the job he's doing) got the groceries, it is now up to McD and his staff to cook the meal. Do I expect a SB this year? No way. I do expect improvement, which includes not getting outclassed in any game this season; a playoff spot would be the cherry on top. If there is one area I'm worried about right now, it is the defensive line. I know we just picked up Ed Oliver, but I think it will take some time for him to be as dominant as it is expected he will end up being. So to tie this in to your post, I think it is a combination of points 1 and 2; McD and Leslie Frazier will need to show improvement in this area - both in run stopping and rushing the passer. If this can't be done, there may need to be a change (further improvement) in the defensive coaching staff in the form of the DC.
  25. Probably not the best litmus test. The Redskins have a way of picking up greats in the sunset of their careers and expect the guys to be in their prime - Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Donovan McNabb, Albert Haynesworth. There is probably more, but those came to mind.
