Why I think Marrone should be fired...

Don't think you were arguing at all, it's a good debate. Yea, honestly I thought they would come out running and was a bit miffed. To come out running, with what happend to both teams the previous week, would be beyond obvious. If they would have connected on a few of those early passes it could have opened up the run game which would have in turn slowed the pass rush down. If there was no threat of EJ completing passes, they were going to unleash Watt all game anyways. So why not establish or figure out if you can pass early. I know they were trying to establish the run first offense but EJ needs to actually connect occasionally with receivers. That didn't happen with pressure up the middle against SD. Maybe they were just hoping if he completed some easy passes early it would go a long way for both EJ and the offense? IDK, I don't hate it, I get the play calling because it worked in a sense that guys were running wide open. -

Yea that was 6 and 9 years ago. It's irrelevent. I did just watch his last game played (Dallas vs Philly) and thought he looked decisive and comfortable and was able to find his playmakers. So there's thay. -

A tough row to hoe for Orton

Look who they played though. They played a Giants team that hadn't figured out its offense yet. They played a Jest offense with Geno at the helm and they played a struggling Packers offense. -

See I think the push up front in the run game has been piss poor all season. I've seen C. Williams and Pears wiff on more than a few run blocks. I've seen Henderson miss a couple. So is it really a strength? -

I said it earlier I think that his game plan early on in the game was to pass to open up the run. Houston was not going to lay down and just let the Bills run, with what happened against the Giants and with what the Bills have shown thus far. Couple of completed passes and maybe the game plan ends up different. -

I honestly haven't really had a problem with Hackett's game plan's this season. I didn't like the first half of this Sunday going pass heavy, but I think Houston was going to really work on their run defense after the NY game and Hackett just wanted to establish that they would throw to open up the run. Didn't work for a couple reasons, dropped balls and EJ missing wide open people. So I guess I can't fault him because the plan probably would have worked if either of those 2 things didn't happen. -
Usually, if it's a season ending type injury, the inside national guys (Schefter et al) know right after the MRI is done. That none of them have said anything, could be a good sign.

I will be attending if thats truly the case. Any other takers? I'm definitely in, although I know London decently well as my brother-in-law lives in Canary Warf.

A tough row to hoe for Orton

Can't role out the excuses for Orton when you make the switch. They are making the switch because they aren't getting results from the position. He needs to come out and execute, thats why he was paid as much as he was. 5-6 weeks is plenty of time, that's how long he would have had if he came to Training Camp. -

Biscuit, I think you are letting your emotions get the better of you here. I will admit I was a bit shocked because I thought he would give EJ another week, but the AFC East is ripe for the taking. Think of it this way, if Marrone stays with EJ and he continues to play poorly, which I'm not saying would definitely happen, Marrone would most likely lose his job anyways. And the next HC certainly isn't going to go with EJ, who isn't his guy. By putting Orton in and hopefully righting the ship he is actually giving EJ more time to develop, if thats possible. EJ was always going to be a project and if he can stay positive, maybe this could be the best thing for him. I'm a fan of the Bills first, not the players. I like EJ and was always hoping he could turn it around or improve or would be the "the guy". And I was always in the he needs time to show what he can do and give him time camp. The problem is this team is absolutely loaded with talent. The defense is playing pretty much lights out. Like I said earlier, the AFC East is there for the taking. The Bills just need competent QB play and the first 2 weeks EJ gave them that but then he he regressed against San Diego. I didn't think he could play any worse than he did in that game, but then he did just that, played even worse against Houston. Think of it this way, if Sammy Watkins dropped 8 passes against San Diego, then went out and dropped 16 against Houston, you don't think Marrone should maybe question whether Sammy is ready? -
Nope. That's a "I'm on my phone auto correct". CHOCK FULL Better?
-
Nice
-
One things for sure he'll have the most talent around him he's ever had.
-
Yea I agree. 3-1 for sure. Competent QB play easily beats the Texans yesterday. I don't think you can say that about the Chargers game.
-
It's about the situation as well. It's been far too long and the team is chock full of talent. Add to that the owner passes in the offseason, you gamble away a 2015 1st round pick and you've got a coaching staff that just can't afford to wait. If the Bills weren't getting new ownership I think they would have waited a little longer.
-
I'm kind of leaning towards yes in that it makes the Watkins trade look bad. I like Watkins, a lot and am glad the Bills grabbed him. But the Bills didn't have Orton on the roster when they selected him. They had EJ. And if there was any doubt about EJ, you don't make that trade, IMO because they had no backup plan. Why trade up for a WR when you don't have a QB you trust to get him the ball? So either he doesn't know how to evaluate the talent he has (EJ) or he makes desperate moves. Sure it looks ok now, because Orton is in Buffalo but if Orton doesn't pull the Bills together it will certainly cost the FO their jobs. Devils advocate view...

I was being a bit sarcastic but I've seen a lot of "3" jerseys in the stands.
-
Are they gonna do a EJ jersey swap for all the fans that they sold "EJ is our franchise QB" to?
-
Hence the quotes around support... But still it makes them look kind of silly.
-
I wonder how the locker room reacts. They were all out In full force today in "support" of EJ...
-
Kind of speechless. Don't really expect Orton to do much or be a saviour, but that was a lot swifter than I thought.
