  1. Right, the O-line has 2 rookies on it, do you really think it was going to get better? It will get better in the long run, but putting 2 rookies in there isn't going to just magically make it better. Woods is now getting more looks with Orton under center. He has as many yards with Orton in 2 games as he did with EJ in 4. EJ, regressed no doubt. But I think that's on him. FJ is on pace for 1200+ yards from scrimmage. He had around 1100 last year. Not everyone has taken steps back. And it more than arguable that EJ lead to some of those players taking steps back
  2. Something has to be schemed to open the middle, for only one RB on the team. A running back so dynamic and special he's the only one who can't figure out how to run the ball up the middle.
  3. Gurantee they don't view him as a #1 and thus won't offer enough for him.
  4. I would say his bouncing it outside, just from observation, doesn't work at all for him, ever. He runs laterally instead of cutting it up back inside. For example: https://vine.co/v/OKUu0DaiEWY If he cuts that back inside, he gets 3 maybe 4 yards. What's he keep doing? Running laterally. Is it not possible that defenses, knowing bouncing outside doesn't work for him, want him to be forced to the outside, where CB's and Safeties (who are faster than LB's) can track him down. And he is horrible after contact, so all the CB or Safety has to do is tie him up.
  5. Could he be effective? I don't think he see's the holes in the middle or doesn't trust his blockers so he bounces it outside. If it's called up the middle, he needs to run up the middle. If the calls up the middle, to keep the defense honest, and he keeps bouncing it outside then how are sweeps going to work? And what does that say when this "dynamic" player can only run one type of run or play?
  6. No offense to you, because you didn't write the piece, but this 'bloggers' solution is to run sweeps? Ok, and that'll work for a total of 2 weeks tops and then defenses will figure out thats all their doing with Spiller. So then what? Spiller has to be able to run inside to establish the outside runs. Keep defenses honest. In fact, I'd argue that defense know Spiller can't run inside and therefore hope that he kicks it out, which doesn't and hasn't worked. I just don't buy that Spiller can't be an at least somewhat effective inside runner when guys like McCoy and Charles.
  7. I think a tiny bit is on Hackett and I think he's slowly realizing it. You can't have Spiller in on 1st down, he just hurts the offense way too much by not gaining yardage. Then it becomes 2nd/3rd and long. And that's not to say the plays called are aren't right, because they are, there are holes for him to run through, he just refuses to run through them or doesn't see the hole.
  8. No offense, but this post is a bit ridiculous. Your counter-argument is that because CJ Spiller had 1.5 good seasons out of 5 that it must be the OC/Offenses problem? If Spiller was absolutely dominant for 4 of those seasons and then this year it nose dived, as it has, then maybe you have an argument. There is another player I'm thinking of that had 1 really good season, Josh Freeman, whats he doing now? What about Chris Johnson, what happened to him? I suppose it's all those other OC's fault right? Or maybe Spiller just isn't playing very good. Lets look for some proof of that: Example 1 (from 2012) Look a hole right up the middle! Nahhhhhhh I'll bounce it outside instead. There are a bunch of these types of runs, shall I go on? Then there's this year: https://vine.co/v/OKUBHbhFmY3 https://vine.co/v/OKUu0DaiEWY https://vine.co/v/OqB9YQxv31M Look, the holes and the yards to be gained are there. So the play calls are right. You can't argue that fact. Maybe you are right though, maybe they aren't using him correctly. Maybe he should be on the field less. You bring up Jamaal Charles, Shady McCoy, etc. but the problem is, they run up the middle! They run between the tackles. Chip Kelly has McCoy run up the middle, hell he ran for 18 yards up the middle Sunday night This team needs consistent running on 1st down and Spiller just can not deliver that. That then sets up the team for 2nd/3rd and long. The runs need to be positive yards, not negative. If you feel so strongly that Nate Hackett is making the wrong play calls, where's the proof?
  9. Win what? Your upset because the Bills have a good run defense.
  10. You're right, they should just lay down and let teams run all over them, that'll solve the problem. A lot of things have to go right to beat HoF QB's, that's just the way it is. Certainly, the Bills offense has to do it's part. But it can't hurt to shut down 1 part of the opposing offense. If the Bills were being run all over, it would only IMPROVE the performance of Brady, Manning, Rogers etc. So i'm not quite sure what you are arguing.
  11. Apparently Duke Williams is slower than an injury-hobled-slow-footed TE.
  12. Gotta agree with this. And consider the next couple of teams coming up aren't exactly "strong" at the QB position, this can only help. The Vikings and Jest want to run to help out their young QB's, this plays right into the Bills gameplan.
  13. I have no idea what a solution would be but maybe thats what it is too many rules, too many situations.
  14. I'm not sure how much that would have contributed to a win, but I said in the thread about this topic, a more interesting debate would be to sit someone like Gragg or Smith for Williams. In terms of a passing attack Williams > Gragg, but I believe Gragg plays on ST.
  15. The Bills sat Robert Woods yesterday? Hmm thats weird because I could have sworn I saw someone with a Robert Woods jersey.
  16. It did go against the Bills. I have never used the excuse that the Bills lost because of the Zebras. And I thought it was a catch and a fumble.
  17. I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous post. Bad calls are just a part of football and fans should except that? I'd probably agree with you but even the bad calls aren't consistent. Consistency is the biggest problem Let me put it in other terms: Each Umpire in a Baseball game has their own strike zone. They are fairly, if not very, consistent with where they call a ball and where they will call a strike, throughout the course of the game. They are asked to make a judgement call on something traveling 90+ mph in less then a second. It's a bang, bang type play. Yet, in a football game the same official is not consistent with their pass interference calls, holding calls, and so on. That's a problem and it's ruining the game, IMO. I think all people are asking for is being consistent and when a former ref(who even commented on it during the game) says they aren't being consistent, that says it all.
  18. I think the officiating league wide is horrible and inconsistent. That's a problem, plain and simple. Hell a former employee(referee) said as much during the broadcast for christ sakes and said they are shown videos of what should consistently be called and yet they still don't make the right call (this is the Gronk catch/fumble, so not a Bills call). If you look, a lot of people are saying that in this thread it's not just that it's the Bills games. It makes games LEAGUE WIDE unwatchable. I think it's a bit disingenuous to lump people who are upset with officiating into some sort of uneducated group. I'm fairly well educated in many sports and having played many sports understand the rules. I'm not saying the officiating had anything to do with the Bills losing or winning, I have never used that excuse. The refs are screwing up the enjoyment of the game.
  19. To be honest, I don't want another complete coaching turnover. There are a lot of good coaches on the team right now and I just can't see them staying on with another coach. Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but a new coach will want to pick his guys. The Bills could plunge back into the Chan/Jauron defenses.
  20. This is what I took away. They were absolutely game/drive/play killers. -3 yesterday, didn't get a TO from the Pats*. The penalties in the Secondary were the most destructive. And I think all of this caused them to go away from the running game. The Bills can't make mistakes like that and expect to win games against good teams.
  21. Jesus, they beat a Steelers team, a division rival, who gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, yes that team, their only win. The Browns just about beat the Steelers the first time around. The other 2 wins came against New Orleans, who looks horrible this season and came in the last seconds and Tennessee, who had a melt down. They've also giving up a ton of points. One week does not a Super Bowl champ make. Step away from the keyboard.
  22. He was playing there in practice this week. Chris Brown @ChrisBrownBills I'd expect to see Corey Graham in at safety to help fill Aaron Williams void. Got snaps there this week with Aaron limited. #Bills
  23. It's not Hogan over Williams though. Hogan plays ST, Williams does not. It's Ladler over Williams. I know you have a beef with Hogan, but thats the way it is. And let's not forget Williams has been pretty quiet all season.
