Guess the Bills 1st play from scrimmage tonight
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Swing pass to B. Brown. 12 yards. -
Peaky Blinders is my current addiction. Season 2 just finished.
-
With a thread like this, I'm reminded of the Kirk Cousins threads and what people thought Washington would get for him after a couple games... This is a bit premature.
-
Maybe, but who knows. He missed a jump ball earlier in the season in the end zone. I mean some of those throws weren't close.
-
Mike Williams can make all the plays he wants. Orton has to throw him an accurate ball. It's been pointed out a few times. Recievers were open. Orton missed them. Having Mike Williams active doesn't necessarily fix that.

Buffalo at KC 25: Most Criminal Play Calling this season
Wayne Cubed replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chandler is going to be wide open, Orton rushed it. -
Not to nit pick because I mostly agree with what you are saying, but Chandler was going to be wide open, literally. Look: It's a really nice play, guys focused completely on Sammy. The protection was great. The Chiefs player is moving laterally and I don't think it's possible that he can then turn in time and catch up. Orton rushed the throw and overthrew it.
-
I'll add a little to that. They were having success between the 20's. That doesn't necessarily mean they were/would have had success inside of the 20. KC, still the only team to not give up a running TD.

I know people want to bash Marrone/Hackett for the Mike Williams situation but couldn't it be Whaley who has a say as well. Hear me out: Now, it could ultimately be Marrone's fault for starting this situation but Williams was first deactivated for the Pats* game. I can somewhat understand why he was, Aaron Williams was hurt and they were short on Safeties. I'm sure they wanted to reduce Duke and Searcys special team contribution. Mike Williams doesn't play special teams, so I get the decision. They then probably went to Mike, explained why they were making him inactive, hoping he would be a team player, etc. He says ok, even tweets out that he's ok with it. Then his agent call's Whaley demanding a trade. In my mind an agent wouldn't be that rogue and just do this on his own, so Mike had some say in it. I'm sure this whole demanding a trade didn't sit well with Whaley. Hell, it created all sorts of media hype and "bad" press. Whaley doesn't strike me as a guy who would tolerate his players making any sort of demands. So all of this puts Mike Williams in the dog house. For both Marrone and Whaley and they figure he isn't a team player and probably won't be around next year, so why not give reps to the guys who will be. It's the only thing I can figure.

Bills part of the 15 international series
Wayne Cubed replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some decent advise in there. I've already looked at flights having traveled to and from the UK many times. I've seen the flights to London direct for around $650 from NYC. That's not bad at all and will probable come down a bit because airlines have no idea of demand. You could probably get a cheap Southwest of JetBlue flight from Rochester or Buffalo and be all in for $750 pp flight wise. As far as tickets go, I'll be purchasing when they first come out. Generally I think the ticket prices are cheaper because ticket prices for English football or Rugby are no where as high as the NFL, so they hover around those prices. -

Premier Inn is a good idea if anyone is looking for cheap hotels, although the ones in London are a bit more expensive then the other ones nationally, but I've stayed a couple times at the one near Kings Cross station (central London) for about £80($120) a night, which for central London isn't bad. Plus it's a fairly short train ride to Wembley from Euston station, which is walking distance from Kings Cross. EDIT: Btw just had a look at flights with Norwegian Air. Long story shot but they have the new Boeing 787 planes and get better "mileage." Looks like round trip next year, all in, would be about $650 to London-Gatwick from NYC. -

I will be attending... -
I know previous years are completely different, from coaching staff to players but the Bills have played the Chiefs now 7 years in a row. In the previous 6 years the Bills are 4-2 against them including blow outs of 54-31, 41-7 and 35-17. The 2 losses were 10-13 at Arrowhead and last years debacle which should have been a win if not for Jeff Tuel and TJ Graham.

Alex Smith has 11 TD's this year. I think what fact you are looking for is: Kansas City is the only team to not have a WR catch a TD pass.

Sammy Watkins Rookie of the Month for October
Wayne Cubed replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a telling stat when comparing the 2, seeing as their total yards almost identical. Yards after catch: Sammy Watkins - 212 yards Kelvin Benjamin - 79 yards -
And there was a good reason for the Bills not to risk throwing more, like risking Kyle Orton getting sacked multiple times. He dropped back only 17 times in the game and was sacked 4 times. Hell on the first series he was hit twice and sacked. Maybe, NH thought to himself "We can win this without trying to severely injure Kyle Orton".

Is it laughable because it doesn't match your opinion. The Bills ran a version of run, run, pass on 1st, 2nd, 3rd down 7 times in the Jest game. The Chargers ran a version of run, run, pass on 1st, 2nd, 3rd down.... wait for it.... 7 times in the Bills game. The Chargers also ran a run, run, run 2 times. I'd call that pretty predictable. And Rivers only went deep once, which was incomplete. He threw short on every single pass in the 2nd half except that one deep one. Oh and the Chargers also didn't pick up a first down the entire 4th quarter with 4 possesions. The Bills had 5 possessions in the 4th quarter and were only down 10 pts. Why didn't the Chargers step on their throat? Why did they do the predictable run, run, pass? Perception isn't reality sometimes, no? http://espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=400554195&period=3

You should have probably looked at the stats for plays on first down before starting this thread: Total first down plays: 204 Run plays: 103 Pass plays: 101 It's 50/50... And before the Jest game was leaning more toward passing. Not exactly the run, run, pass game you are proclaiming it to be. Also the Bills are averaging 4.8 YPC on 1st down. So that's working. 2nd down is where you may have your gripe.
-
Over the past 4 games the Bills are averaging .75 points per game less and yet are 3-1 whereas the Chargers are 2-2.
-
How are the Bills predictable, as you say, if they are 50/50 on first down pass or first down run? Being 50/50 on first down play calls in my mind is the definition of being UN predictable. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/play_finder.cgi?request=1&match=summary_all&year_min=2014&year_max=2014&team_id=buf&opp_id=&game_type=R&playoff_round=&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&week_num_min=0&week_num_max=99&tr_gtlt=lt&ytg_gtlt=gt&yds_to_go=&yg_gtlt=gt&yards=&is_first_down=-1&fp_gtlt=gt&fp_tm_opp=team&fp_ydline=&type=PASS&type=RUSH&is_turnover=-1&is_scoring=-1&no_play=0&game_day_of_week=&game_result=&order_by=yards&down=1 It's right there. 101 pass plays. 104 runs plays. They are averaging 5.42 YPC and 6.0 YPA.
-
I remember the threads quite well and they were a lot of "We are passing too much."
-
We have? How is that possible when the previous 3 games the Bills passed 43, 38 and 43 times. They have run 19, 23 and 20 times in each of those games.
