  1. @buffalobills: Orton: "My role on this team is a backup. Job No. 1 is to help EJ" Orton knows his role, but keep on keepin on
  2. Bears had the # 1 defense that year (2005), allowed only 12.6 points per game.
  3. @buffalobills: Orton: "My role on this team is a backup. Job No. 1 is to help EJ" That's gonna ruin some posters wet dreams...
  4. Ohhhhhh another EJ thread.... how interesting. If I were a rich man...
  5. It's not even professionals, it's fans as well. I watch EJ and don't see what this fan see's. I feel like some of it is regurgitated drivel. Is it staring down a receiver if it's the first read and he's open? No, not in my opinion, which is what happened. I've seen him look off defenders. Also, the mechanics comment is odd, if you can't actually say specifically what the flaw is in his mechanics.
  6. I don't even think it's that, it's this undying desire to be "right" about a player. This gives a fan "street" credit, because they were accurate. Which when you think about it, and the failure rate of players in the NFL, let alone QB's, it's easier to be on the side of "EJ is not good and never will be" because history/statistics say there is a higher probability that he won't be. But in my mind, that's like I said, that's the easier road to take. Why can't these fans tell me or you or anyone who the next great QB will be? Because they don't "know", just like they don't really "know" if he will fail, they have an opinion. That being said, as a fan of the Bills, I always want a Bills player to succeed. I want EJ to succeed and still think it's possible that he will. I don't think I'll ever understand why a fan wouldn't be more open minded about players on their own team.
  7. Seriously? C'mon they DID sign Orton because Lewis and Tuel sucked, hence why Lewis isn't on the team anymore and Tuel is now on the PS. And saying EJ sucked all last season is being a bit harsh. He had some bad games and some really good games. It was all crap though, as you say.
  8. But in retrospect, they could have had players, which I listed, at positions of need. The only reason he was with the Pats* for so long was because Brady was healthy. If he saw any extended playing time at any point, his poor play would have been put on display and would have most likely got him cut earlier. To me, that means bad talent evaluation. They were just lucky Brady never got hurt.
  9. Except it's a wasted 3rd round pick. They could have had Kendrick Ellis or KJ Wright or Jordan Cameron or Cortez Allen(when they really needed a CB) or hell, Da'Norris Searcy. Point is, they wasted 3 years and got a 7th round pick out of it... That's not improvement and chances are that 7th/6th round pick will end up being nothing.
  10. Interesting. If I had to guess this was due diligence when looking for a backup QB when it was just Lewis and Tuel, but they obviously weren't willing to give up a lot and I'm sure the Pats* wanted a lot it Mallet was traded within the division.
  11. Gotcha, I wasn't sure which way you went with it. But I agree, it's impossible to know how weak or strong a schedule actually is until the games are play.
  12. Got challenged, refuse to be a part of social website's peer pressure and shaming. I will donate money to ALS, but at an amount I choose and when I want to. I can't stand how many videos I see and no one actually informs people of what ALS is and who it effects. I was riding the train the other day and I overheard some younger girls talking about it. The conversation went like this: "Are you going to do that water challenge thing" "Yea, you mean the one for paralysed people" "Yea, you dump a bucket of cold water over your head and it makes you paralysed for a second, so you feel what they feel" That pretty much sums it up. On a side note, the backstory of how this whole thing started is pretty ridiculous but if when this went main stream, the person lowered the amount to say $20, I think ALS research could have gotten a ton more money. You'd see more people donating AND wasting clean water that 780 million people still doesn't have access to.
  13. Dibs, you sure you got your numbers right? Bills opponents in 2013, and their record from the previous season (2012) going into 2013: Pats* (12-4) Jest (7-9) Dolphins (7-9) Panthers (7-9) Saints (7-9) Falcons (13-3) Buccaneers (7-9) Steelers (8-8) Ravens (10-6) Browns (5-11) Bengals (10-6) Jags (2-14) Chiefs (2-14) So it should be 13, 12, 12, 10, 10, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 5, 2, 2 (123 wins). So a the beginning of the season it looked like an easier schedule but ended up being harder with 133 total wins. If you compare last year who we played (133 wins) to this year who we are going to play (127 wins) it could be easier if we were playing last years teams, last year. But as you say you can't really assess strength of schedule til you've actually played the teams... Basically we won't really know how hard it was until the end of this season.
  14. It doesn't matter if it was one big run, it still happened. You can't just subtract it. Can we just subtract out the 2 stops for a loss than? So now it's 10 plays and 44 yards. And yes 67 yards on 13 carries is big for a team that average 73 YPG last season. You think big ole twinkle toes is happy with that?
  15. Yea, solid defense which you pointed to their pass defense problems and now that "championship" Jest run defense is getting gashed 13 carries 67 yards over 5 YPC...
  16. That wasn't a dig at Marrone, and Marrone had nothing to do with setting up the Steelers practices, that was Whaley. Fred said it would be tough, because it was like playing 3 games in a row, didn't say a word about Marrone.
  17. I'm sorry if I missed it, but where in that article does it say Johnson is "struggling"? I see: "Needs to develop chemistry..." Which makes sense in my mind, he missed OTA's there and has had what, 3 weeks of practice? I also see: "Making the transition to role player..." Any ideas where this word is used?
  18. But I read on here that the NFL will pay the $400M themselves, because they want the team somewhere else. So, JBJ can save that money, obviously.
  19. You serious? Wow. I don't even know how to respond, but I'll say this, the NFL is not going to pay for a team to move. And secondly why would the NFL care? If you weren't aware, the NFL is ALREADY making money in EVERY single TV market in the USA and in Canada.
  20. What a terribly uninformed piece of writing, so now non-binding bids are indicative of what the actual sale price will be?
