  1. This game is all sorts of weird in terms of personnel. CJ retuning kick offs, Mike Williams plays like 1 series and Aaron Williams playing with the 2nd defense. EDIT: oh and Doug Legursky starting at LG
  2. I've done AirPlay through my Apple TV the past 2 seasons, jailbreak style, but think I'm going to go to direct plugin this season. While AirPlay is the much easier option, because the iPad is streaming data and then the Apple TV is streaming data, the video tends to be behind. And I know it's stupid, but that annoys me knowing it's behind. So just going to eliminate one of the streaming options. I look forward to the next version of Apple TV not using wifi to connect via AirPlay, hopefully Bluetooth.
  3. I find that this quote is conveniently left out: "Whaley called speculation Spiller is on the trading block news to me." So he was asked, if Spiller was on the trading block.
  4. I don't mind an article or analysis that's negative after a game or pre-season game. What I don't like is the constant microscopic over-analysis of practice without any context to what the play was. Unfortunately some of us can't make it to practices and are just given reporters opinions without any background. And unfortunately some people take what is written as fact and not opinion. I'd like to be able to form my own opinion. I enjoy reading the play-by-play much better because it lets me form my own opinion of how practice went.
  5. He's a player for the Steelers.
  6. I think if someone is trying to be objective in how they are reporting, that's the way to do it. Just report the plays and let fans decide what the good and bad is, especially when it's practice.
  7. Here's a full write up, play by play, by a Steelers blogger. (Odd no one from the Buffalo blogger community does this) http://www.steelersdepot.com/2014/08/steelers-training-camp-practice-report-day-fourteen-wednesday/ Overall, looks like an up and down day. Some good, Sammy Watkins TD, finding the TE's between the seams especially a wide open Scott Chandler for a TD. And some bad, missing throws low by EJ. I really liked the recap of the OL/DL drills. Eric Wood/Cordy Glenn sound like they are in mid season form.
  8. A different take, from a Pitt reporter. Damn EJ stop staring at Sammy! Mark Kaboly @MarkKaboly_Trib · 13h Sammy Watkins beating Cortez Allen for long TD pic.twitter.com/xnXQmdTMqI https://pbs.twimg.co...A4Mo4.jpg:large
  9. Here ya go Buffalo Bills@buffalobills How much ice did it take @EWood70 and his fellow #Bills o-lineman to complete the #ALSIceBucketChallenge? A lot. https://amp.twimg.co...9f-a8be220c9331
  10. Yes, but how is Jeff Tuel doing? #TuelTime It's just overanalyzing. You also have to understand Joe B is a Seminoles fan and he has no football background. So just reports what he sees, wait that's not true, he chooses to report certain things he sees.
  11. EJ stared the ball down, then stared the receiver down, then stared down the drop. It's all connected.
  12. These practices the coaches can work on scripted plays ie 4-minute drill, 2-minute drill, red zone work. And they can work on it multiple times, more than they would in a pre-season game. In many ways they are better than a pre-season game.
  13. Brilliant article, I feel like this should be standard reading.
  14. There's video of the Bills OL doing the challenge
  15. The second statement leads me to believe they are still going to practice, it will just be closed.
  16. Seriously? You don't think hitting and going up against different players, adds very little? The Bills line up in a 4-3, the Steelers in a 3-4, surely seeing a different alignment can only help the offense. Especially a 3-4 defense run by Dick LeBeau.
  17. IMO, there is a 0% chance they move a proven LT in Cordy Glenn for a still unproven Sentreal Henderson. Henderson looked good, but he was by no means perfect or elite in his play. Glenn last year was pretty close to perfect.
  18. Toss up between: Dead Poets Society What Dreams May Come
  19. I watched the 2 quarters of the game and the Texans defense was struggling, but mostly due to the secondary. Clowney looked ok, only time he looked really bad was when he was forced to cover a TE and got beat for a would be TD, but there was a penalty away from the play, so he was saved. After the Cardinals scored they put in their 2's.
  20. I think the answer to "what about Henderson?" is that he still needs to play more snaps before it's determined what can happen to him. While he did look good against the Giants, he made a couple mistakes against the Panthers. Many a "HOF preseason player" has gone on to preform horribly in the regular season. I'd like to wait and see how he comes along.
  21. Huh? This post makes no sense. What does EJ getting hurt, have to do with a smaller QB possibly getting hurt?
  22. I'm not saying he had a whole lot of time. Just disagreeing that he went through his progressions. And yes his line was crap, so that was part of it. But he's also more comfortable taking off. Case in point in the 4th and 1, his fullback was open and he chose to run it. I'm just not sure he can handle that much running, especially if he's going to do what he did on his first 2 runs and lower his head. At some point he will get popped.
  23. You sure you were watching JFF? Because I saw him lock in on his first receiver and if it wasn't open, dump it off or run. There was no "going through his progressions". And that's not meant to be a knock on him, it's very common in rookie QBs. The question, as with all QBs coming into the league, can he learn to go through his progressions?
