It's hard to raise a daughter in the NFL.

Beat me to it! But all three? Couldn't just Lynch be in the deal? We need to save the other two to trade for a pro bowl LT!
-
Trying to get this straight. SF drafted to upgrade but we drafted on need and the inference is that this nuance in how we drafted somehow means SF is smart and Buffalo is lame? Even for a troll this is just fricken' stupid post.

From the short camp time I've seen of Stupar, he mows down defense when blocking and catches everything in reach. All around player. Nelson looks like a receiver in person and blocks like one. Could be Chan's way of sending a message that TE's gotta block.

Chargers now on their 5th starting LT...
Green Lightning replied to KollegeStudnet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? When many on the TSW have solved both issues already. Trade our 3rd string RB for their pro bowl LT! Now that this nonsense has been offered, please spare us that gem of a post in this thread. Also, does anyone think for a minute the Chargers won't settle this contract by opening day of the season???? -
Wawrow: Whitner rejuvinated by the 3-4
Green Lightning replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice piece John. Contract year or not, I'm anxious to see what he does in this defense. I always thought he was a bit undersized for SS given the task of covering TE's. But there are other SS's about his size that are effective. Let's see and approach it with an open mind. It's a new regime, new defense and new era. I think most deserve the benefit of the doubt. -
That's a lot of DB's but that's a hard area to cut. I don't mind multiple threads like this as one dedicated one gets too cumbersome to follow. Your list is reasonable, but I don't think Kelsay survives if Ellis keeps playing like he has. He's got more speed than Kelsay by a long shot. I'm checking practice out on Wednesday. As for other "here's my roster" lists that follow this, guess away but PLEASE don't say Marshawn is not on the final roster because we traded him for a starting LT. That will instantly dissolve any facade that you know what you are talking about.

Yup. You nailed it. -
why I am not so worried about LT situation
Green Lightning replied to PJBrown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who's doing that? The guy is just saying here's what we got and make the best of it. It's okay to think positive. Bottom line is we are not going to rebuild in a year. Too many holes. Chan and Buddy are building they way they want to and that doesn't include a huge upgrade in OT this year. You look at that and say Christmas is ruined and all is lost. Some of us look at it and say maybe Chan can come up with plans to minimize that deficiency and still be a viable offense. It's not pollyanna to think that possilbe. I have reservations but I'm not going to spend every post p*ssing and moaning about it. -
Who agrees with the statement by Peter King?

Umm, Hamden = Warner - a chance? Don't think so. -
Wow - Bengals O-Line looks bad

Ratliff looking good. Guess 300 lb NT's can be effective. -

We're talking football - not life and death. The post is saying think positive because that's what we got. Green, Meredeth and Bell - that's how we're going to roll Bro so deal with it. It's football - relax. -
Lynch Should be Traded for an OT

I'll stand down! Git'er done Buddy! I didn't see your post until after my rant. Solid post! -
Lynch Should be Traded for an OT

I cannot bear to read one more thread that begins trade X for a premier starting left tackle. Really? If our players all suck why would anyone give us a premier left tackle for one of our players? Trade our 3rd string back for a pro bowl tackle. Good idea! Jesus why the Hell has nobody on this entire TSW board thought of that!!!!! -
TG was treated horribly by a few choice a-holes and we all lost a great resource. TG wasn't thinned skinned and gave as good as he got like JW does (thank God he still posts) but TSW abused TG. I hope he returns and I hope Lori returns with him.

Below is a post from Thoner7 who gave a great report on camp yesterday. I asked him about Troup and Carrinton. He said Carrington is looking like the real deal. Here's his response: "Troup worked primarily with and against the 2econd teamers, but it was evident he was a good anchor there. He is a fireblug no doubt about it. Kyle Williams added a little bit of a gut and is very good so I dont see him getting benched for Troup. I think we have 2 very good NTs to work with. I think it was a big endorsement of Carrington to leave him at RDE in the 40 front when the team went nickle. I dont think the coaching staff would do that if he couldnt rush the passer. We are gonna need those 2 guys moving forward thats for sure - and if Stroud wears down over the season like he has the past few we could see a lot of both."

I'll refrain. Very concerned about KW. Any early diagnosis? -
Buffalo rumblings studs and duds
Green Lightning replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We seem to be all agreeing the guy is a stud and all the hand wringing because we didn't pick the better known NT's seems to have quietly gone away. I still stand by the notion that one week into training camp is not a time to put brackets around a player and say he's at or near the top of his game. Better conditioning and strength coaches, better technique coaches, experience and more knowlege of the 3-4 is going to make this guy better. But it's a small point. I don't think the writer was disparaging Troup, I just thought it an odd comment. One thing I'm happy to see is that Buddy Nix knows talent and if he wants it, he goes and gets it no matter what others may think. The guy's got stones. -

I agree. The "ceiling" remark was odd though. What the Hell is the ceiling for a NT? If it takes two OL to block you play in and play out and you can collapse the pocket, make tackles and play three downs a series, you're a Pro-Bowl NT. -
Golf clap!!!! Great moment in filmdom.

Is CJ's tweet a hint that his contract is done?
Green Lightning replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said the same thing in another thread. This is a huge swing in dollars under the slotting system between #8 and #10. RB's have a short shelf life and tend to want a longer term contract with lots of guaranteed jack up front. The FO is wise to bargain tough here. -
Wonder what the odds are on that?

I'm a bit dumbfounded......I'm agreeing with mpl. I think this is a TSW first! Hey Mpl....what's up with this? To those who still question the QB logic, point number two in the list above holds true. No rookie after pick #1 was better than any guy on our roster now. Next year that maybe a different story.
