  1. Not panicking yet but wow, that was pathetic. I expected better. Every phase of the game was plain awful. I'm a big supporter of new regime but this was a terrible start.
  2. Wow. Brutal. By any measure that was just awful. Not going to panic because we can't possibly suck that badly on offense defense and special teams game after game. Horrible pass defense by linebackers and corners. Reggie Corner was pathetic. Trent....he really has a collapsing window to show us something. Trying to keep from making this too big a deal but man, I'm disappointed.
  3. C'mon MPL, you don't have a positive bone in your body. Some folks just are born with the world view that everything just sucks and some things suck more than others.....and that happens to be you. If they found a cure for cancer tomorrow you'd say why'd it take so fricken' long and what about AIDS???? I'm okay with your daily downward spiral posts, it but please don't tell us that your posts are strategic to "balance the board" ....really now. You're a naysayer and that's how you are so don't apologize for it...celebrate your dourness and worry about what happens if the Bills start winning. I can imagine it now....they won by only 10 freakin' points because the line sucks......... Just sayin'.
  4. Maybe Schopp and the lapdog can do a fruit draft during the game. They are pathetic. They hate the Bills and I really think are not so hot on sports anymore. Time to move on boys and either go to Fox as political screamers or to a morning zoo radio format. What we need is a sports station that talks sports.....at least during football season!
  5. Or not pass the ball unless we can run it.....works both ways
  6. It's hard to be a DB in the NFL
  7. I'm feeling good about the D line. Not real comfortable with our LB corp. ILB's look okay but the OLB's are shaky at best.
  8. Great list and with that many greats (some I forgot about) I can't quibble with the positions of any of them. Andre was a great receiver. Tough over the middle and great run after catch. Great size and quickness and as the article says, was very good for a long time. It's an honor for Andre to be included in the same list with those names. Thanks for posting that.
  9. It's easy to put modern players ahead of the old timers, but if you think Butkis wasn't the best you probably never saw him play. His intensity and power and focus on destroying anyone in his way was what a linebacker was all about. He defined the position and there was nobody tougher, better or more durable in his era. Like LT, when he was on the field, the offence took note of where he was and feared to go there.
  10. Okay, got it. Now I'm focused on beating the Vikes for our man Buddy. I did think your thoughts on national media bashing to be spot on.
  11. And you think from what we knew during the draft that Clausen was head shoulders better than TE or Brohm and warranted a high pick? Really? Just because we have QB issues doesn't mean you burn a high pick on a guy that has as many holes in his game as the guys we have - who were both bright young prospects two and five years ago.
  12. Well done! Look folks, sports media are going to gang up on us and say we suck until we no longer suck. Look past the inaccuracies and the stupid things they say and just remember....win and it stops. So as Marv used to say (and I like it better than than the baby reference) Don't tell me how rough the waters are, just bring the boat home.
  13. Disparaging remarks on Nix aside, this about sums it up. Take it to the bank that most sports "journalists" do little if any homework and just ape what the conventional wisdom is....and the CW is that we have sucked for years and why expect anything else. Just win and that changes. Even then, the sports media will not correctily identify why we are winning and will be just as innaccurate. They can't help it, they're lame and we just have to suffer them. Bottom line, win.
  14. I watched him in practice and he didn't look like he was in a high chair compared to the other three. He's got a live arm and showed some touch as well. I actually thought he made ball delivery decisions faster than TE and Brohm, but that may be becuase he's not going through the full progression. I really look forward to seeing him in game conditions. I would not be stunned if he emerged this year.
  15. This hit the spot! Thanks Lori.
  16. I just hope we don't lose the two healthy starting O-linemen we have left. Is the game being carried by anyone?
  17. Gaither is a mess right now. If all else were equal, why woudl they trade a elite LT for a third string corner?
  18. I expect little tomorrow. We can only muster two starting players on the O-Line, so the QB that does best tomorrow is the one that can survive. I really didn't fear having a young O-Line and OT's going into the year. But when 3/5ths of your line cannot practice hard or play, C'mon. This is an issue as our depth is non existant. I'd feel better if the young guys could have practiced hard and played. They need the time desperately and it's not happening.
  19. Watched him last night. Works hard and does get some separation. Not overly gifted physically and I guess the only way to find out is to play him. My gut says he's a number 3 reciever on other teams, but the list is long of players I've misjudged.
  20. Or at least Green. I have little fear of LT. Valid point however. Sanchez doesn't have to be great if your line and running game is dictating the game. I think that's the formula Chan is trying to instill here for this season.
  21. Whatever, Same rehash all nat'l pubs are writing. I don't take offense. They have to fill a lot of space and don't have the time or inclination to see for themselves and regurgitate conventional wisdom. Still we have a lot to prove and until we do this is what we'll hear. The argument that we cannot field more than two starters on the O-line for the first pre season game is valid and all of us shouldl be concerned. D Bell is green enough without taking part in TC. So I get it. I think we'll surprise some people but until this team reflects the toughness of the Coarch and GM and starts to find some success on the field, we'l hear more of this. So just let it roll over you and let's focus on improving.
  22. Just got back. I agree for the most part. All the QB's had zip on the ball. Fitzy fired a laser in the endzone. D looked half speed tonight. Maybin didn't get close all night. Ellis looks like he's ready to push Kelsay. A couple of whopper punts from Moorman.
  23. Well I read the whole thread and I can honestly say I don't get the OP's point - hence a pointless thread. Of course the HC is going to have his coach's back when asked in an interview! He didn't call a press conference - he was asked. What the Hell?
  24. Hey, It's hard to gameplan in the NFL.
  25. Exactly right and what Chan should and I think, will do.
