  1. I'm pulling for TE as well, but c'mon! Who wouidn't have confidence going againts Fitz, Brohm and a rookie 7th rounder? Is there a weaker field to compete with in the NFL today? To me, Trent can't just win the competition , he's got to dominate. If not, it's clear he's done and a career back-up.
  2. TE handled it well. JI\imbo's comments were a bit over the top, but that's Jim. TE responded with respect to Kelly but made his point. Nothing wrong with what he said. I'd like it too if he went out and lit up the offiense and this is his last shot at it. But any fair minded individual would have to say the circus that was last year's OC mess and OL disaster doesn't lend itself to boosting a shaky confidence. So ultimately, Trent does have to put up - but he shouldn't have to shut up when someone says something like Kelly said. let's hope TE reflects his coach and get tough and not reflect DJ anymore.
  3. I'll pop some popcorn and watch the board blow up when Darth learns that Trent is the starter.
  4. If Spiller makes magic with every touch of the ball, it will be in his hands early and often. He will be most of the offense.
  5. Classic glass is half-empty argument to offset the other glass is half-full arguments. It seems to me Chan and Buddy are going to wait to see what they have once the pads are on before pulling the trigger on any trades. At this point, you have to go with what they think. So whether or not Wood is ready, or Green can be a stop-gap or back up RT, or that Bell is ready or not is just not going to be answered until the banging starts. What makes me feel better is that unlike Jauron, players better be ready to pound it out in pads. We'll know early on who is a pretender and who is a gamer.
  6. Guess that's why you bank on your FO to judge talent. We'll see.
  7. What don't you get about this? The FO didn't like Clausen - period. They weren't going to pick him anywhere. They wanted a starting NT and not another question mark at QB.
  8. Well that's that's a sudden burst of the obvious. You can say that about any rookie.
  9. Well at least no Kool Aid reference so I'm happy to engage. I understand how you feel. The almost-winning point goes to coaching and leadership. We had the talent to come close but fell short. Coaching and leadership are changing and we are being built with big and strong and not small and fast that fades in the 4th quarter...where we lost most of our games. I'm optimistic about what is happening. Oh, and you can get lucky everynight if you had a more stable relationship........
  10. Agreed. And if one of you doom and gloomers want to crap on Ice's post, please step-up your game and stop using any G'damn references to Kool Aid. Get creative with your bitching for a change!
  11. No, they needed Spiller because the Bills have not one single playmaker on their team - zero. There's not one player that an opposing DC fears on our team - no one to game plan for. This kid had some 20 touchdown runs of over 50 yards! That's 20 more than either of our guys have. For the first time in years, we have a playmaker and a gamechanger. That's why they took him.
  12. Thank God for Billsguy for helping us poor delusional sheep see clearly. Nothing's changed at all at OBD! We'll always suck and the truthsayers that are Clayton, King and Sullivan are to be to be paid homage for their wisdom. So grab a cup at the punchbowl and hoist a toast to Billsguy and ponder the question why he isn't "Jetsguy" or "Patsguy" if our team is as pathetic as he believes.
  13. Don't pass over the research areas so easily. It shows that those "jounalists" are just mouthing what the rest of their ilk is muttering. I heard the same doom and gloom when the Bills hired a "losing" coach in Marv Levy. Chan has won on every level and Buddy has a proven track record picking talent. They are the guys looking at our players and it's their plan. Clayton's not here and knows squat about building a team. He confuses activity with results. We'll see how much "better" the AFC East became with their expensive signings. And by the way, I didn't know the off season was over.
  14. I'm also having a hard time finding any holes in this statement. What could have been................
  15. I guess speed is the issue with Coleman so we'll see. I'd like to really see what Nic Harris can do. He's smaller, but not Keith Ellison small. He played with a nasty streak before getting hurt. Being a converted safety, he would be great in coverage. He's a good hitter and I hope we can give him a chance in this new scheme.
  16. Of course I have no standing to rate where a player should play, but I was surprised by the immediate assigning of Moats to the ILB spot. He seemed to have some more speed and coverage ability to at least warrant a look at OLB. Also not sure if they have him backing up Poz or looking at him at backing up (and eventually taking over for) Andra Davis at the Mike LB spot.
  17. I'm having a very difficult time finding any holes in the above argument. Maybe A. Maybin becomes the next C. Bennett, but, um....I think I"m with Dr. Fong on this.
  18. True, but that entertainment you speak of is brought about by a team winning, not by making the building process fun for fans who post opinions but don't know jack about how to build a team. Donahoe gave us lots of activity during the offseason but squat results. Nix could care less about fans like you wailing and spitting about getting this guy or that guy. Nix has forgotton more about football than you or I will learn in our lifetimes. He's building a team to entertain you by winning and not playing patty cake during the offseason to keep you interested. Sit back and enjoy the ride because you have zero input. That said, you can carry on all you want but evoking the names and arguments you originally posted will get you a thread of ridicule like this one everytime.
  19. Your post says far more about you than it does Donte Whitner. You are a perfect example of what's wrong with this board. I'm no fan of Donte, but to call him a retard......your post is pathetic, insulting and offensive. Easy to throw out such names. tough guy, when nobody knows who you are. Love to see you address Donte that way, but you'd wet yourself. Try thinking before writing. Say what you have to say, however strong and pointed, and say it like you would to that person's face.
  20. Yeah, you're right, what was I thinking? BillsFan74 is dead nuts on this! If we can only rally around getting Mike Vick, Marcus Spears and John Henderson, we'll be just fine and the FO will be brilliant and we'll have stuff to post about..........yeah! Now I see clearly.........
  21. You probably said the same thing and wrung your hands in angst and defeat when they hired that "loser" coach Marv Levy. Get a grip man and don't let Schopp, Sullivan and Peter King do your thinking for you.
  22. Hey Billsfan74. Don't confuse activity with results. Nix is building a football team, not working to keep you entertained during the off season.
