How would you feel if...
Green Lightning replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew you were a FO hater....but how can you be hating on Promo? Just as a casual observer, why do you follow an enterprise that makes you constantly spit and fume? It's not good for your stomach lining. Jeezy Creezy, relax, breathe, look at the beauty of a NFL franchise and let the inner Promo in you out! -
Really? Like any decent coach would have had six straight Super Bowl wins with Indy? Polian always builds great offenses and small, fast defenses that fall short. He did that in Buffalo and again in Indy. If the Colts could get off the damn field on third down they would be champs this year.

I've been saying this for the past few months. TSW would have lit up and blasted the choice, just like they are hand wringing over Chan.

NFL Free Agent scouting reports

This Is why we drafted Moats. Davis is here to teach us the 3-4 and to school Moats in particular. -
2010 Starters - could be a lot better than expected
Green Lightning replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Said well Randy! I'm sick of such behavior on this board as well. If people don't like a player, don't sit in anonymity and insult his manhood and worth as a person. Especially when you would wet your pants if that player were face to face with you. When people post such comments it says a lot more about them than it does about the player being demonized. -
What do Brady, Aikman, Marino, et al all have in common? They all looked pretty damn ordinary when they were on their ass or pounded repeatedly. If we can't keep a QB, whoever it is, vertical. And if we can't keep the other team from running wild on a crap defense, it doesn't matter who the QB is. We have to get better around the QB regardless. So this year Buddy didn't see a franchaise QB anywhere so he wisely made us bigger and stronger in places we needed to be bigger and stronger in. We have a long way to go but he is doing this the right way. Be patient.

One more time.... They didn't like Clausen. They weren't going to pick him in the top four picks. We needed and instant starter with our second pick and Clausen would have been just another question mark at QB, to add to the three we already have. Unless Clausen could have plugged the turnstile middle of our run defense, we did the right thing by drafting a NT.

NFL.com Analyst puts Bills 2nd to last...
Green Lightning replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kirwin is King - redux. A lot of what he wrote about other teams I've seen regurgitated in many other columns by "experts" but so what? The convential wisdom is we suck and that's fine. We have to prove we are on the right track and play some good football. I like our chances of not finishing in the bottom five. -
What is right with the Buffalo Bills !!!!

Given what I've read so far, I'm positive this thread is going to suck. Go Bills. -
Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
Green Lightning replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh yeah, a fan who gets to introduce the new GM and coach and live on the sidelines during games. Kelly is far more than a fan. And despited being a HOF'er, he has to be accountable for his words. He took a shot at TE and to TE's credit, he fired back in a respectful way. Good for Trent. Like to see that feistiness on the field now. No one is comparing TE to Kelly. But Trent is our best bet to date to be our QB and I'm happy to see he has some life in him. We'll know more in a few months. -
Why won't the Bills give a #2 pick for Gaither?
Green Lightning replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What he said ^ Be patient. In Buddy we trust. -
I'm pulling for TE as well, but c'mon! Who wouidn't have confidence going againts Fitz, Brohm and a rookie 7th rounder? Is there a weaker field to compete with in the NFL today? To me, Trent can't just win the competition , he's got to dominate. If not, it's clear he's done and a career back-up.

Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
Green Lightning replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TE handled it well. JI\imbo's comments were a bit over the top, but that's Jim. TE responded with respect to Kelly but made his point. Nothing wrong with what he said. I'd like it too if he went out and lit up the offiense and this is his last shot at it. But any fair minded individual would have to say the circus that was last year's OC mess and OL disaster doesn't lend itself to boosting a shaky confidence. So ultimately, Trent does have to put up - but he shouldn't have to shut up when someone says something like Kelly said. let's hope TE reflects his coach and get tough and not reflect DJ anymore. -
I'll pop some popcorn and watch the board blow up when Darth learns that Trent is the starter.

A Few Tid Bits Of Info From Chris Brown

If Spiller makes magic with every touch of the ball, it will be in his hands early and often. He will be most of the offense. -
Help me understand something...
Green Lightning replied to PJBrown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Classic glass is half-empty argument to offset the other glass is half-full arguments. It seems to me Chan and Buddy are going to wait to see what they have once the pads are on before pulling the trigger on any trades. At this point, you have to go with what they think. So whether or not Wood is ready, or Green can be a stop-gap or back up RT, or that Bell is ready or not is just not going to be answered until the banging starts. What makes me feel better is that unlike Jauron, players better be ready to pound it out in pads. We'll know early on who is a pretender and who is a gamer. -
Levi Brown - odds stacked against him

Guess that's why you bank on your FO to judge talent. We'll see. -

"Suprise" seems to be...
Green Lightning replied to Buffalonian-at-Heart's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What don't you get about this? The FO didn't like Clausen - period. They weren't going to pick him anywhere. They wanted a starting NT and not another question mark at QB. -

Green Lightning replied to Buffalonian-at-Heart's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well that's that's a sudden burst of the obvious. You can say that about any rookie. -
This team is going to be better than most think
Green Lightning replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well at least no Kool Aid reference so I'm happy to engage. I understand how you feel. The almost-winning point goes to coaching and leadership. We had the talent to come close but fell short. Coaching and leadership are changing and we are being built with big and strong and not small and fast that fades in the 4th quarter...where we lost most of our games. I'm optimistic about what is happening. Oh, and you can get lucky everynight if you had a more stable relationship........
