For those who have gone to the minicamps
Green Lightning replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was going to post a similiar thread for those attending practices but why start another. I'm really interested in Torrel Troup. I see us playing a hybrid 3-4 with KW at the nose but I'm really anxous to see if Troup is the real two-gapper beast we need. I didn't get a ton of info from our good TSW posters (although thanks for posting guys) so I'm reaching out here. Anyone seen him practice? -
You don't go from 0-60 overnight unless something happened that we are not privvy to. Yesterday he was welcome, today the door is shut. I suspect AS must have tried to negotiate futher or tried to trigger a side deal and the FO is telling him to screw.

TG has confidence in the Bills....
Green Lightning replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think TG has been right a lot more than he's been wrong. I think many of us share the view that we may not rack up wins this year but we will show steady improvement and build with young, talented and tough players. So Tim is just saying we are on the right path but we are not as good as the other three teams in our division. I think that is a reasonable position. I personally think we can handle Miami, but we'll see. -
You absolutely shouldn't apologize and no inference was made about you having an agenda. You wrote the story as you saw it and we're just reacting to one of the individuals quoted. So I don't apologize for dismissing Freddie but clearly, I am not saying you are trolling for negatives for any agenda. The body of your work stands for itself and is appreciated. Just sayin......

Interesting Quote from Chan...
Green Lightning replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's how you tell a football guy. Love the accents on Buddy and Chan. Reminds me of old school ball....line up and kick the crap out of the guy in front of you and good things happen. At the very least our guys won't be "small and fast" and get B'slapped all over the field in the 4th quarter anymore. -
I don't take exception to honest criticism but we're talking Smerlas here. Not honest, just relentlessly corrosive and negative for decades. Im just saying the big story would be if Smerlas had something good to say. You're correct that it's been a brutal decade to say the least. But Fred was a hater during good times. I just don't think he's credible. I don't take exception to most NFL writers who take shots at us. We have a lot to prove. I don't like ill informed pundits who just say what everyone else is saying without thinking on their own.

Excellent point. Seems hard to justify.

Jared Gaither battles health problems
Green Lightning replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm hearing them too! Anytime a guy drops 30 pounds you gotta wonder if he's "stopped" taking something and not just what's ailing him. Either way, what a nightmare it would have been if Buddy listened to all the hand wringers screaming for a Gaither trade. -
Steelers team airplane spotted in Buffalo
Green Lightning replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe we're talking trade with Pig Ben and he wants to check up the UB co-eds. -
I don't think it all three will be on the field that often. You'll see two back sets with Spiller moving and used for the short passing game, slot recievier and some running plays. Lynch and Jackson will split the heavy running load. They can use all three as a change-up or wildcat formation to keep defenses on their toes. But as you pointed out, Chan has forgotten more then most of us will ever learn about such things. I'm just excited to see what he does.

Schefter Tweet- Bills moving forward w/o Schobel
Green Lightning replied to LABills08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Already have a thread on this. -
Bills moving forward without Schobel
Green Lightning replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What the Hell does that mean? Are they cutting him loose? That's what he wants and we'll get nothing for him? Maybe it's just a message to AS to get in asap. Any of you guys know what the Hell this means? -
JW. Freddy has earned his POS ranking with many of us over the last few decades. We'll never hold him in high regard and frankly his statements about the Bills carry little weight. It's not so much the message as the messenger. I doubt it's his thinking anyway and he's not just regurgitating stuff he's heard. So when someone is quoted who has a long record of dumping on the team and never has anything good to say about them in decades, why would you be surprised he'd dump on the team now and more importanly, why should we care what he thinks...even if he has it right? It would be like interving Jerry Sullivan and being stunned that he has nothing good to say about the team. We know what to expect with both these guys. I used to call it rolodex journalism when I taught some college J classes. You know who the Yea's and Nay's are and you just fit them in when you need a yea and a nay in your story. Your work is not so structured that way but in this case, it just fit the formula. Freddie is a hater and self promoter. So anytime you use him in a story there's going to be a certain reaction from many of us. BTW - thanks for taking part in this board and putting yourself out there. I hope we can get TG back but honestly, I don't blame him for bailing.

Sunday Practice, O-line, D-line drills
Green Lightning replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take getting to the QB every third play. I've never seen a 3-4 linebacker bowl over a OT anyway. If he's a third down guy at first, and effective, so be it. We need pressure and he may be the answer. -
Well, Someone like's the Bills at least
Green Lightning replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He would have hired Chan Gailey as his OC and we'd be witth same crew now to see if they can play or pick one in next year's draft. -

Valid point especially on passing downs. I don't see many OLB's bowling over OT's. -
Jevon Snead waived by Bucs
Green Lightning replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, forgot about him. That has to be the worst example. -
I wouldn't say your not wanted here but you are a "glass is always half empty" guy. My take is that you are on the younger side and maybe have never seen a good Bills team. It is also vintage Bill's fan and Western New York thinking that nothing ever goes right. Well, that's not true and I think the team is poised for a turnaround. I like the the new FO and our new coach a lot better than "shoot from the lip" Freddy Smerlas. But your trolling can't be overly criticised until we win and show steady improvement. Then it's up to you to reflect that positive change in your thinking and writing. Just sayin'........

MPL - I thought it would be another annoying "let's sign another team's trash" thread at first but it's not the case. Some posters should get the benefit of the doubt and San Jose is clearly one of them. He's (I assume he)a solid contributor. -
Here's my Training Camp Report from 7/29/10

Thanks Mike, Really appreciated, Nice reporting. -
Another tackle possibility bites the dust.
Green Lightning replied to tennesseeboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Threads like these have been too many and there's more to come like it. Bottom line is there will be no tackle signed until Buddy and Chan size up Bell, Merideth and the rest of what we have on the roster. We're going with what we have and everyone on TSW will just have to get used to it.
