  1. LIke the pic: Good review from SI. "Analysis: Moats has been one of the better small school pass rushers the past two seasons and has been a disruptive force, consistently blowing up plays in the backfield. He's a pass rush specialist who will be brought onto the field in third-down situations and lined up as either a one-gap defensive end or outside linebacker for an NFL team.
  2. More on Moats: Maybe a Maybin? Biography: Two-year starter who also saw action with the first team as a sophomore. Awarded All-American and All-Conference honors as a senior, while also being named CAA Defensive Player of the Year. Finished his senior season with numbers of 90/23.5/11, leading the team in tackles. Junior numbers included 65/18.5/11.5. Positives: Explosive college defensive end expected to transition the linebacker in the NFL. Explodes off the snap with a terrific first step, fast off the edge, and shows ability in pursuit. He quickly changes direction, displays speed to the sidelines, and cuts the corner off from running backs. Breaks down well, playing with good knee bend, fast in every direction of the field, and always on balance. Keeps his feet driving up the field and works hard until whistle blows. Negatives: Undersized and handled by tight ends at the point of attack. Rarely asked to make plays moving in reverse and was able to pin back his ears and rush the quarterback in college. 3. J*sus, take a breath! You're the little cloud that cried! We could have taken those guys, we didn't want them. Time will tell but from my seat, we filled lots of holes these past few days. Quite believing Kiper and McShay....they're TV boys.
  4. Man, that's the least of our issues with media. I'm still burning over the talk-over when we made our round 2 selection. I was screaming at the TV!
  5. EasON guys like him. Big, strong and fast. We need a receiver. Another need filled.
  6. True, but it's obvious there's nothing in the draft in the past two rounds who he felt could come in and play right away. I'm just speculating that it could be Buddy-speak for bringing in someone who can play right away after the draft via trade. Or maybe move Levitre to LT and get a guard.
  7. That's correct. BTW - who's turn is it to p*ss in the cheerios this morning? The doom and gloomers are sleeping in this morning.
  8. 6'6" - 318lbs and only 29. If his injury is fully healed, he would be a stud and really give the young guys a leader. Maybe they need another running back....or a safety......
  9. Just read that as well. That and a $7.5 million contract? Pass.
  10. That leaves a hole at guard. Maybe he'd going to look at some guard depth today. Still may do as you say, reach out for a stop gap veteran.
  11. Other than the obvious cry for QB and LT, we need depth at guard, LB and receiver.
  12. Winning will sell tickets. I like what we are doing. And for the first time in a decade we have a player that is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. That will be fun to watch.
  13. Interesting quote from Nix last night: "You say well we haven't addressed the offensive line," Nix said. "But we want to take a guy we know can come in and help us. And if they can't, we're gonna go to another guy. If you take a guy who can't play then you've compounded the problem. Now you've got two who can't play." That sounds like he'd rather go get a LT than draft a project. Thoughts?
  14. Be nice to not to see our line pushed back three to four yards every damn running play. Maybe our safeties won't have to make all the tackles on running plays. We had to get big and we just did.
  15. I've been saying the same thing for the past month. People, fine if you want to bellyache and B word...that's probably your lifestyle and habit and fans like to B word. But don't make crap up to back up your BS. We had a thousand yard rusher behind a line that had rookies, free agents and sometimes acquistions picked up the damn week of the game. So B word all you want, but don't pretend to know about football than Nix - he's forgotten more than you'll ever learn.
  16. These are all valid concerns but you have to understand now that this team will not be turned around in a year. We had to get bigger and stronger on defense and we have. We have to gamble that Maybin can rush the passer as a LB. With Edwards, Stroud, Troup, Carrington, Spenser and Kyle Williams, we look to be stout against the run, for the first time in memory. Maybin, Poz, Davis, Mitchell, Nic Harris and maybe Shcbel will be good against the run and hopefully effective blitzing. Our secondary is sound. On offense. it's clear that is not going to get fixed this year. Barring trades, we may see a line of D. Bell, Levitre, Hangarnter, Wood and Green. Remember, a much weaker line last year still turned out a 1.000 yard rusher. I remain nervous about receiver, but there's only so much you can do in one draft. I like where we are going, but let's be clear, we're not there yet.
  17. You said in one line what took me about a paragraph to say. Well done!
  18. Boo Frickety Hoo. Get over yourself. You think we're going to solve this all in one year? Those great QB's you liked lasted into the 3nd and 3rd round for a reason. They're not franchise guys. We needed to get bigger and stronger on the D-line to stop the run for once. I think we did that. We need to address tackle and QB. We can't do it all in a year. As for Spiller. We finally have ONE player on the roster who opponents may actually fear. The kid is a game changer and maybe the one weapon we have that defenses have to plan against. He can run, catch, return and score from anyplace on the field. That, buddy, is a damn good draft so far. We are far behind the rest of the division, but with draft, we are turning the corner.
  19. He's spent a life in football and has a track record of choosing some pretty damn good talent. You?
  20. Oh brother, aren't you the little cloud that cried. C'mon - that crap analysis can make any defense sound like crap. We got some good players today. Freaking relax.
  21. Totally different builds. Troup can easily add some pounds and we need him only to be a two down player and have Kyle in on 3rd down. This kid outdid Suh bench pressing. He's built to plug the middle not to penetrate like KW.
  22. What did you think we would get this done in one year? Be real. We are making solid headway with solid picks who can play right away.
