We are more likely to do this than make the playoffs...even though Whaley thinks 'we're close.'

I personally put the odd of Gilmore leaving at 70%. Even if they figure out a way to keep him, probably looking at two young safeties.

He shouldn't be declared a saint yet. In order to officially become one, you need to perform two, verified miracles. Gotta get Jax to 9-7, and then he can be formally known as a saint.

Then he lost Josh Norman and had to play young guys in the secondary. Exactly what he'll have to do here.

Aside from the new development in the hiring 'process,' I think the issue Whaley is going to end up getting the boot for is his choice of words at the presser. No, it's not about being 'privy,' but saying - twice - that he thinks the Bills are close. If he has the Pegulas sold on that idea, then it could be Doug's last year at OBD. You have a new coach to hire, a few key pieces about to test free agency, a possible retirement or two and a question mark at the most important position on the team...and you're close? This recipe seems more like 3-13 than 11-5.

High likelihood I won't be physically able to get myself to watch until seeing/hearing reviews here. Even then not sure :/

If nothing else they are making it easier on the Pegulas. No playoffs and everyone will be shown the door in the offseason. I also wonder what Russ Brandon will be doing in about 10 days from now.

Slightly agree. If you're a fracking billionaire that just laid down serious coin on anything, much less an NFL franchise, you hire your own people. Further, and because of the lessons learned with the Sabres, you do it right away. Clean house. I don't think parting ways with Marrone/Hackett will have any real material affect on this team next year. The players are all professionals and have to learn new schemes all the time. And from all accounts Hackett's offense isn't exactly rocket science. If, and only if, they make the playoffs then I'll change my tune.
