  1. Seemingly the good thing with Peterman's skill set is that he has good anticipation, throws players open, and is accurate (and he has big hands which I always think is a hilarious measurable). The con we hear about all the time is arm strength. It seems like strength is something a young athlete can improve. We hear time and time again that you either have accuracy and anticipation or you don't.
  2. sans 'Club Marv' we can assume.
  3. Doug is a very good pro scout. Not very good in front of a mic, but not everyone is...And that, unfortunately, is part of the job as a GM.
  4. Correct...
  5. At this point, if he's there at pick 195 I'd be fine with taking a flyer on him. 6th rounders rarely stick on teams and you may as well take said flyer on the QB position.
  6. They can laugh. The Chiefs did two things that are not historically smart at the same time! (1) trading up for a QB very rarely works out, and (2) they drafted a guy from an Air Raid offense. But I'm sure this time it will work.
  7. A company poised to make a huge and long term disruption in Sports is the same one that started off selling books.
  8. It's very much the same dynamic. People are cutting the cable, getting some streaming package and noticing they don't actually care much about ESPN. ~$7 of everyone's cable bill goes to ESPN - if they have the channel of course.
  9. Some of the on-air talent/hosts of shows make between $1-3.5M. I would bet Werder and Burnside made less than that. Cable cutters are killing their business just like the internet crushed newspapers. Although, this seems to be happening much faster. The question is, what will this do longterm to the sports rights. ESPN surely won't want to pay the steep fees to each league if they're underwater.
  10. The burden/stigma he will carry with him on draft day, and once he's on a team, is the air raid offense he came from. I suspect if you went back and looked at the film of Goff, RG3, Geno, Johnny Football, and even Brandon Weeden you'd also see some similar throws and reads. There are GMs that probably have very strong opinions on guys that come out of that system. Like not on the board in any round kind of opinions. No one that has come from that system has had anymore than one season of success - RG3 and, of all people, Nick Foles. The rest make the Bills QBs since 2000 look like Pro Bowlers. Can Mahomes buck the trend? Maybe. But if you were a bettor, and GMs in a way are betting on players, would you really expect that he's the one guy out of that system that will end up being a franchise or even an above average guy in the NFL? Doubtful.

  12. game. set. match. Bonus points for not citing fridge-gate, too.
  13. I tend to agree. This team cannot draft a QB at #10 and just sit him. There are other positions of need that they can draft at 10 and put him on the field right away.
  14. Maybin was so bad that he was relegated to 1:1 drills (on the side) at practice against Ed Wang. And Ed owned him.
  15. That is the definition of temporary insanity that lasts forever re: the name. Maybe SG will retire a Pat and be a hall of famer...or maybe, and probably more likely, they will cut him loose or trade him the minute he looks to be wearing down (like they have done countless times at all positions).
  16. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Dareus has zero strikes left, right? One missed or failed test will have him out for 16 games - with pay. It's virtually impossible for the Bills to get out from under his deal or trade him so that narrative needs to stop, at least for now. This year will tell us all we need to know about Dareus imo.
  17. Tyrod: 15 Fitz: 48 Losman: 31 Trent: 31 Bledsoe: 36 EJ: 28
  18. Not for nothing, but he was 3rd in the league in sacks last year...on a defense that had a hard time making sure 11 guys were on the field.
  19. If Sam Darnold (1) comes out of school after next season, and (2) is the second coming of Bom Trady, then I'd be OK with a tank.
  20. Are we really at the point where we think a player is leaving or being cut because he thanked a city after a signing event? Go home internet, you're drunk.
  21. Great pull
