I can't see Beane shipping a 1 to anyone for any player at this point.
Clowney is somewhat intriguing and has played in all of his games the past two years. He is trending to be a double digit sack guy who tends to cause and/or recover fumbles - meaning he is around the ball. I would not be on board with shipping a 1, but would be on board with getting him if he continues to trend up. He just turned 26.
Who knows how much $$ he's after too. Not a huge thing today, but eventually Beane will need to pay his picks.
Print news biz has been off a cliff for a long time, the fact he is leaving TV for digital-only should be an indicator local TV is next to get crushed.
I wouldn't be shocked if Daboll puts Allen in position to make many more high-percentage check down throws with Cole in the mix to balance homerun shots.
100% re: timing. Not only is Allen going to just miss some of these from time to time, he also had a revolving door of WRs and I don't think they really ever got into a rhythm. These are throws Brady can make with his eyes closed to Edelman. Hopefully Cole gives Allen some level of competence with these routes this year.
With Foster and Brown stretching the field on outside, it seems very likely there will be soft areas behind the LB's were Cole and Jones can eat!
smoke screen aside, this year's josh may best fit into a 3-4 scheme. So I can sorta see it but just get QW, NYJ? We can all just hope 3 QBs go in top 10.
"Bills GM Brandon Beane has not tipped his hand and has continually said that Buffalo will take the best player available. That could lead Buffalo in multiple directions, but Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller is hearing that the Bills are targeting Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver with their No. 9 pick."
READ: Beane hasn't said anything, but "I'm hearing..."
Riiiight.
"Just" get a bunch of starters that contribute right away while on rookie deals. Don't reach.
Maybe try to get back into the 4th round and shed some of the 5-7th round picks that likely won't make team if Beane just drafts all 10 spots.
FWIW, and I am not sure if this is even tracked across the NFL, the Bills are only going to have three roadtrip flights at or around 3 hours (Miami, Dallas, Nashville). Not to mention just two games in the central time zone.
That is not bad at all.
Top 10 Oline picks have some of the highest hit rates (aka not busts) versus most every other position. This can be an 8-year guy that you just don't have to worry about. WR's are much more risky historically. We already have risk at the QB position, I would not double down on that with a risky WR.
