Yea, it’s tough. There are a lot of guys that can get some highlights in camp at wr that aren’t elite nfl guys. They are all top tier college pass catchers and obviously there is amazing competency in playing catch at that tier of talent. doing it on Sunday in January in double coverage at playoff intensity is much different I think sherfield will be a good contributor but I’m not expecting him to substantially change the quality of player he has been.

Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
NoSaint replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
yea, I mean if it’s the Tom Brady week one acl I’m fine with you being our qb and putting Tim graham at center If he gets put in concussion protocol for one drive in the Super Bowl I hope we find away to secure Patrick mahomes as our backup. it’s all relative, right? -
FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
NoSaint replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
I am not opposed to athletes having opinions but this is one where they’ve made it easy to not feel terribly sympathetic and at times crossed into actively unlikable representatives of their country. the level of investment is high, their quality of life is still excellent. They are entertainers compensated based on the revenues their show brings in. They need to find ways to grow their pie, and not eat off someone else’s plate more than anything else. That’s not to say it’s perfect as is, but the gap between their current status and a relatively fair arrangement is much smaller than several of their stars portray. -
OT: High school football officiating shortage
NoSaint replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
yup. You’d have to be a masochist, not a sports enthusiast, to sign up for the job. low pay, weekday games can conflict with standard work schedules by the time you bake in commutes and prep… even if you are excellent you are shredded by folks that barely understand the rules. sign me up for literally anything else. -
the bills played nickel defense on 91% of defensive snaps in 2020. declaring 3 lbs were starters may not be that meaningful.

the Instagram video probably paid for the entire simulator set up. so I think it’s that he’s making the most of his opportunities and you don’t understand his opportunities as far as the different wiring
-
there’s also a reality that it could be messaging to light a fire in camp, not a real demotion consideration but who knows

that would be quite the long shot though to the topic of phillips… good energy. Feels like a solid “glue” guy for the units attitude. That said, without a solid MLB behind him, his freelancing and pass rushing May either be reigned in or be more likely to be exploited. He’s one I’m curious to see this year. I like him but we might not be protecting his weaknesses to allow him to play to his strength… but we will see how we scheme that up

we have missed the boat on a world class WNBA franchise. I am not sure that will be received how he expects.
-
there’s no question that he’s the best with the ball in his hands so the only way he’s not RB1 is if he’s awful without it. That said, it’s obviously some committee

when we aren’t a blue collar running team why is it thought that we need a workhorse back?
-
Honestly, when we talk where the team got better/worse — james cook is one of my excitements the only thing to grapple with is how limited the run game should be with a franchise qb. I think the kids got real explosive potential though. He pops.

I mean early playoff loss in his post implies pretty good but flawed not “one of the worst teams in the league”

What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)

counter- talents of damars level are not difficult to acquire so you kind of go with the best player today, knowing there are plenty of long term options at the level of the one you move on from. -
What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)

I do think the bills PR team might could possibly be floating the story out through back channels to soften the blow should it happen seeing it in a few places this week leaves me curious, though it could be organic -
he still has Rodgers who will treat him like a kid brother and do whatever he wants with the offense you have to believe Rodgers just wants a guy that can let him freelance while kind of steering the guys around him back into line a little.

What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)
NoSaint replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
honestly, I think it’s a good race between the two and lean towards Marlowe on the 53, with Damar on the PS I think all damar can ask for is a fair evaluation where he’s not penalized for the injury but likewise shouldn’t be specially rewarded. He’s either 4th or 5th on the chart and we will see how it shakes out. -
Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
NoSaint replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
well, that’s the thing with comparing this years full strength and full of optimism roster with last years already depleted and beat up one. Of course it looks better to say Hyde is healthy but Hyde was healthy last off-season too, right? Someone, and likely someone decent will be hurt at some point. Our WR depth got marginally better harty/sherfield vs mckenzie/crowder but we still have a question mark at WR2 kincaid could be an answer but TE tends to have some ramp up associated. I expect him better than TE2 last year but not penciling in a pro bowl either. MLB is drastically worse. Does that hamper assignments around it? Can Milano roam less, do the safeties get sucked in more (and take more hits), do the lineman have to be more cautious? miller is a huge wildcard - does he come back seamless or is it more like tre did? Is Torrance a fit in our scheme? Hard to think the line slips either way but lots of guys bust and we think of them at their best in august. I do think the teams slightly better, as long as Miller comes back as strong as he was pre injury but I suspect that gaps much smaller than threads like this portray and if Miller struggles that’ll be a big concern. -
yea, it’s a little worrisome that we are walking in hoping the WR2 makes a break through, someone steps into a WR3 role and a rookie tight end doesn’t play like a rookie tight end are we better than last year? Sure. The problem is we weren’t good enough at the top of the chart and our biggest hole was a second weapon…. unfortunately most of what we added aspires to be a third option. We are still missing an assertive answer to who is target two. Knocking everyone down a peg on the depth chart wouldve done wonders for their ability to fully fill their expected roles instead of collaboratively trying to reduce gaps between each others skill sets. If you are a vet that makes the week 1 roster your salary is guaranteed. If you are signed after, it is not.

Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
NoSaint replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
this actually might be your ex wife, eh?!? -
It’s by salary he signs for, so likely a 3-4 as long as we lose more qualifying guys than we sign

Jonathan Taylor: Communications with Colts FO Non-Existent
NoSaint replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall
it literally said it was from a team source -
Sure, but expected is a loaded word. We can hope for anything, and our expectations don’t have to be based on any foundation Im hoping he’s healthy and steps up but until he shows the big jump we are just hoping.

it could be years and who declares it resolved? Should the bills hold his rights today and through his civil trial?
