  1. I think the responses you’ve received have something to do with you saying you are sure he’s been humbled, etc… as opposed to simply “hope he’s doing better these days.” And this being a board that for nearly a decade folks have lectured that the bills should give him a shot and his last time messing up was obviously isolated and his last time… for no apparent reason.
  2. At some point it will stop being we should sign him to the PS and hopefully from there it’s just an occasional page and a half about whatever local charitable event he pops up at and not 10 pages for an embarrassing event.
  3. I’ll chalk it up as you will never have an opinion about behavior or outcomes because anyone could’ve drastically changed since their most recent of many mistakes… if the last name Kelly is involved. obviously we all know people can change and evolve. Now ask yourself why you are so invested in everyone loudly agreeing with that point for Chad here?
  4. a vendetta? You don’t have to white knight for the guy. He’s acted like a jerk and some guys are calling out that he has acted like a jerk. You don’t get to simply not make the news for a very short stretch and have that reputation disappear. If he’s truly past it, he will eventually earn having his name associated with the new things he achieves. Unfortunately, world class entitlement is the extent of his resume so far.
  5. there’s also the reality that it may have been a great game between middle of the pack teams. CFB often has week 1 wake up calls where teams don’t carry year to year as expected. while they were “runner up” getting smashed in the championship game, they may not really be a top team this year
  6. meh. Counter, there are plenty of 50 year old jerks and many of this start by being 16 year old ones, 20 year old ones and 25 year old ones. And he’s been on the exceptional side of the spectrum, not simply a run of the mill arrogant teen. I’ll always hope for fewer jerks in the world, and reclamation projects are great… but once you are out where he has been it’s the exception to become an amazing person. That doesn’t mean I think he’s a comic book villain 24/7/365 but I don’t feel the need to stump for every stranger. Even if he has a famous name. And I think there’s a hell of a lot more excuses for his name around here than guys actively trying to bury him.
  7. plus guys that hold out often have soft tissue injuries when they return because they are going from gym workouts to game speed instantly
  8. I’m just not sure what they envisioned for boogie when they took him. Was it actually dramatically different than we saw? I’m sure a little more upside but they couldn’t have expected him to be a breakout star or anything. Just a rotational piece. and if that’s the case there’s a lot of questions about why make the pick in the first place if a guy off the street like shaq is fine in that role. Go ahead and dedicate the valuable pick elsewhere
  9. Doesnt an injury settlement fully block his return to Buffalo this year?
  10. I don’t even think I’d say above average. This isn’t some fringe top 10 mlb right now.
  11. I don’t think that is even a commitment. My point was how far from a commitment 12 carries per game really is, and how easily he could get there in a 17 game season if healthy.
  12. he’s been signed to the practice squad so I’m not sure they are seeing a clear solution so much as another lottery ticket
  13. easily, if you are a mature adult. someone has to be older than me to provide insights into a task we both know a lot about? Webb can still see things in mechanics, on film with both the offense and defensive looks.
  14. I wouldn’t be shocked to see cook at 1000 yards rushing and 3-400 receiving in fact, if healthy we are are only talking a 12 carry 2-3 catch per game workload to get there
  15. yea, I am not sure what Dorsey’s arc will end up being. Having such a talented qb hides a lot of flaws and gives some extra rope. we will see what he does with it. while I like consistency of the in house hire, you also have to wonder a little if that’s truly the best available guy. I have both concerns about a few red flags admittedly but also high hopes
  16. he may be. I wasn’t arguing he was or wasn’t with that statement. Simply that he works a ton doesn’t mean he’s actually succeeding. The OP spent a lot of words on saying more hours means he can’t be questioned. If you want to shift the topic to measuring successes, do you think there are more than 2 other people in the league that could get more success from this group? I’d say absolutely. Which means 3rd ranked is somewhere in the passable but not elite output category.
  17. Any qb more athletic than Brady (ie nearly all) without a ring (ie nearly all) isn’t putting in the work? yea, there are a few motivations you could have and troll is probably the most generous while if it’s truly a serious discussion I feel bad about the actual underlying issues.
  18. honestly, a large volume of work does not mean he is creating the proper output
  19. as an active coach it could be a little different handing former players large sums of cash
  20. meh. I think most should reasonably take it with a grain of salt. It’s not like he’s been harping or was dumb over the top. he acknowledged he wants the guy back and to win rings with him.
  21. yup. You have to thread the needle of not being a pushover but not embarrassing anyone publicly either.
  22. Like the legion of boom, do it til it’s called and then keep doing it until they show they are willing to call it multiple times. it’s a fine line before you end up catching extra judgement calls against you because you are disliked. look how the nfl treated the saints after Sean Payton repeatedly called them out. Highest differential in the league on PI and holding calls called for vs against for several years. Just drastically out of line.
  23. but it is broke and we have to fix it- at least with regards to who is going to call plays. beyomd Milano, even a poyer or Hyde could contribute as guys that are experienced, don’t come off the field and read the whole offense anyway. MLB would be ideal but suddenly we may be cycling through several at varying levels of nfl and bills playbook experience. I think it’s at least a fair an interesting question in the offseason
  24. the third is an absolute mess for most. it’s either huge upside guys with massive red flags, good character guys that don’t actually have the skill or average dudes at below premium positions knox, singletary and Harrison is a pretty decent group in there. that he’s missing that badly in the second is a relatively big deal though. That’s a spot he should pull a few average starters and an occasional big impact player with some busts mixed in. 3rd and later is a crapshoot.
