  1. yea, I mean Big Ben was neither Brady nor manning but did do pretty well for himself I suppose, right?
  2. especially in a 17 game season, 10 picks don’t worry me. at that tier, it’s more about context. Having a red zone int returned as a pick 6 in a tight game would a totally different discussion than lobbying a deep ball vs the pats in the 2nd quarter or clustering 3 against a conference rivaL in General a pick basically every other game is pretty meh though
  3. counter: a big part of mccaffery is his role in the passing game. As a bell cow 300 carry down hill runner I’m not doing backflips for him.
  4. if you have a respectable qb, a run is conceding the down in many cases. You don’t take the ball away from a top ten guy if possible. Which leaves great backs with meh quarterbacks
  5. yea there could be a no tag clause
  6. Yea, might be the most obvious question thread we’ve ever seen
  7. that’s why you have to get them reps early and often. So they aren’t playing like rookies later
  8. I think you may feel more grounded in the conversation if you actually stepped back from wholly moley it must be a lot and realize that McD doesn’t need to know the 52nd guys allergy list personally. he has a position coach, they have player personnel staff, etc… his job isn’t to have totally and complete ownership over every detail at all times. But if you list it up and he is doing slightly more defensive work mid week, can he delegate more off the travel planning, video room accountability, S&C, or diets etc… to trusted folks? I bet a lot of those cultures and expectations have been built and his engagement could potentially be less than it was a few years ago. he lost the entire covid planning piece from his day to day task management surely there is some trade out of where he spends his hours mid week and minutes during the game but I think when you define what that looks like, it’s a little less extreme for a guy that’s already built the program
  9. I think you need to be much more specific on what you think the HC duties are and which you think could be neglected for this to be productive
  10. potentially an issue of holding back reps from the young guy, but with bated being used so many ways I’m not sure that convention is a concern
  11. I mentioned it a bit back and I do wonder how losing tremaine may impact him. perhaps absorbing more weight in the lower levels and middle as an aging guy could be a problem. More green space, more hits etc… there have been threads about concern about DD whenever there’s been a photo of him the last several months
  12. two schools of thought- save reps/risk for late in the season vs look sharper week 1 hopefully securing a bye week in the playoffs given that we have a very competitive game out of the gate, let’s hopefully walk out of week 1 with the inside track on the division. I’d hope Tomlinson has his team playing fast but clean in the preseason.
  13. correct. I could very easily see him as a PS guy even to keep in the system in case guys get nicked up. I won’t be shocked if he’s WR6 but WR3/4 still seems beyond unlikely
  14. We love our obviously fake news
  15. you do realize its probably not real, right?
  16. phew- lucky I don’t care if you hold on to incorrect facts and look like a goober. YOU may want to go find this information for yourself though.
  17. why are the ravens doing it for less than a 4(?) ish as a comp pick received after holding good depth for an affordable price all year
  18. Older, taken a beating and already showed signs of a real slow down at 8 ypc for a season. if you need 1 play from your 6th WR he wouldn’t be the worst option possible but anything sustaining an offense week the week would be bad
  19. if you are going to argue that guys with expiring contracts but are good so their teams would like to keep them are not free agents, then I will presume you will also argue that guys that are cut candidates aren’t free agents either and I can’t use guys that were free agents signed this year as an example of quality of players available which yes, would definitely limit the specific names I could point to as examples of a bridge contract.
  20. Know who else he’d love? Mike evans plus a highly drafted rookie, plus cap space leftover.
  21. I was using him as an example. Insert vet receiver cut next year in his place for the real world execution. Talking 20m now and a fast rising number at that
  22. that doesn’t mean he had a successful season that indicates that the last two years were a fluke a) I don’t think we have any indication of his finances b) plenty of guys don’t know when to hang it up
  23. the league found kirk to be worth a massive contract. It should tell you how wide the gap is between Isabella and even an average starting WR
  24. played in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 this, 2023, is the 5th season in the league Hes among the senior members of our receiving squad, minus diggs. WRs don’t get forever as there are near endless 5’10-6’2 guys that can run fast and catch well. By the time you are off the rookie contract, which he played 3.5 out of 4 years of with the cardinals, you are either in the league or out of it for the most part… and right now he’s trying to fight back in as WR7-8 signed during camp at vet minimum with zero signing bonus or guarantees the cardinals didn’t even hold him til the end of the year as there was no faith he’d be a qualifying signing for a comp pick. Which was correct.
  25. I’d venture the time to throw is him scrambling and creating instead of having creative play design and decisive targets to use ala mahomes. hopefully an extra red zone target in Kincaid, and Dorsey having a year to work on new packages helps. And he had that bad run after no interceptions in the red zone forever to start his career. Had to get him a little jittery down there last year. plus injury effecting him both running and passing potentially hopefully this improves in 23-24
