  1. To be fair, kicker is the only spot I’m advocating. I’d hope someone could pooch a few 30 yard punts without returns. I don’t think anyone else is reliably putting it through the uprights from 40+ though. A backup long snapper can be kept at the opposite side of the room in OL meetings and get a ton of meaningful reps during the season
  2. right, but in a normal year there’s no waiting period for signings, and while it’s not ideal to be forced to scheme around a guy being out - this is definitely a uniquely large drop off in what could be key moments. running extra nickel packages because a lb is out isn’t quite the same as having a lb handling all kicking duties
  3. even if they are excellent about it - there is risk. wife (or gf) gets sick at the grocery store and we have a linebacker kicking in the super bowl? Don’t like it.
  4. Id be fascinated to see results of 2 polls: the nfl plays favorites and isn’t fair to teams like the bills? the nfl should do away with its consistent policies and make each case a judgment call? i suspect there would be a strange overlap
  5. and when you are down two and 30 yards out? I think it’s a no brainer to have one due to the week long holding pattern on new signings what about outside exposure?
  6. again, consistent policies applied in these examples. outbreak putting players at risk, try to postpone. Outbreak contained, play as scheduled. not allowing a team to sign a coach has always been a rule. If the broncos wanted a 5th in house qb they could’ve had one. Or followed restrictions with their existing 4 that would’ve prevented this.
  7. no one forced the broncos to play by your standard. They could have forfeited.
  8. he didn’t do well when passing either. a good qb would have produced plenty
  9. that 6-3 one? Derek Anderson did his part with like 20 yards but Trent Edwards was triple digits.
  10. what players would go to court with what claim?
  11. they were subject to a 6 figure fine also.
  12. in theory it wouldn’t happen to the bills who are following a better protocol. Be mad at the team not the league.
  13. broncos would’ve loved it. other than more fun to watch, what’s your reason to move it?
  14. If you don’t think letting taysom pass the ball accomplishes that, you have your answer on whether they think he’s the guy.
  15. Soooooo tentative. I get taking no risks in a game like this but at some point got to pull the trigger. its not like Denver is going to start racking up touchdowns and the leads wide enough to actually test taysom a bit without consequences.
  16. why would Denver push the ball there?
  17. you knew he’d be asked to do very little but... this game might not cross 100 total combined passing yards 😂
  18. Taysom just doubled his passing yards on that completion - 4/7 with 6 yards now
  19. That screen was text book on the late decision making. Those red flags will likely continue. he is fun to watch against a struggling team and backed by that defense... but boy would it go south in a shootout. If that’s an attack, pillow fights must be terrifying. saying that he wasn’t asked to do a lot and it was low pressure isn’t an attack. It’s just context.
  20. feel bad for this Hinton kid in Denver. no one expects him to be good but this game is going to chew him up and spit him out and it’s going to be tough to overcome the “who? Oh that guy that got embarrassed at qb?” even if it’s subconsciously.
  21. I’ll take playing kc as late as possible.
  22. you have to think it’ll be a low scoring game with both teams minimizing possessions. To win by 3 scoring possessions (if not more if the gap is fgs instead of tds) would be a lot. Should be a solid win but not sure it’ll be that good without a reliable offense if their own. Will be a lot of milking the clock
  23. it’s tough to dole out historically bad punishments for transgressions like this - especially on first offenses (or when the natural consequence seems to be a loss and being a laughingstock like Denver)
  24. so many times I’ve posted it but... there’s a difference between an outbreak of positive tests and contact protocol. 7 positive tests is way different than 1 guy being around 6 people, as an example.
  25. im guessing some have been following much closer than me... but if one low level coach wasn’t always carrying his tracker (but not egregious enough that protocols had to have caught it) and didn’t report symptoms- I’m still not on the race to forfeit. if he was constantly rolling through the building mask free and many others were and it was obvious and blatant - I get on the forfeit train much quicker
