Report: Jerry Jeudy arrested UPDATE: Charges Dropped
NoSaint replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, if you get in a fight with your wife and take/break her phone… it’s not a beat down but it’s also a pretty jerk move that could leave them trapped/helpless/vulnerable. we will see the story but there may be a learning opportunity for him at the end that we shouldn’t mock or excuse or ignore -
It’s also not like we’ve had some super intense camp. he finished the season strong and he’s not taking the off-season for granted is the extent of any optimism and I don’t doubt some coaches or teammates said that Rousseau already has - but a matter of holding it
-
agreed we can’t assume how those three will slot out- all I was saying is there’s a chance he could be behind the others even in a good off-season. Great problem to have but would again just tie to keeping reasonable expectations that he could be playing well and still challenged with limited reps. I think someone could be frustrated in an AJE or shaq thread if I slotted then 5th for discussion sake too. Someone we want to cheer for will be inactive if everyone is healthy.
-
this is a 3 year with voidable 4th to put dead money into a year he wouldn’t even be on the team. not saying it’s bad but it’s not a 3 year you bail on in 2 with no dead
-
I wasn’t making a grand proclamation or anything. just pointing out it may be a real possibility even with a strong off-season and a step or two forward. I’d venture you referencing him “falling to 5th” is probably not much different than what I put honestly- if not a bigger jump - as frankly his job is to climb out of 5th this off-season. he was behind AJE last year, so unless you are saying he’s passed him on the depth chart that leaves him DE4 at best, with shaq being a bit of a wild card returning.
-
If all are healthy… and shaq can return to any semblance of past form back in this scheme - there’s a real chance boogie is DE5 and doesn’t dress until injury strikes.
-
ha! It’s just one of my gripes. It’s like going straight to bringing up nazis in a political debate. It just derails the actual point you are trying to make 9 times out of 10 and somehow seems to still be a go to in every discussion. but yea, that 32 GMs let him slide is an indication of what they thought of his athleticism. Obviously not a blanket statement you can make about the 200 players drafted after the first round but we have context here and it is relevant as a data point in this players discussion
-
There’s also a reality that with miller rousseau shaq AJE daquan Oliver settle phillips That Boogie may be fighting for game day active roles still.
-
A) you way overanalyzed a somewhat flippant offhand comment. B) he is at an absolutely elite and often overdrafted position. Only QB tends to run up the board more than pass rusher because they are both huge impacts on a game and rare body types. Boogie slid not because he was injured, or arrested or… it was because of his physical skill set. He is more Andy dalton than josh Allen in that regard. c) don’t take it personally but I think anyone that points at Tom Brady in a draft discussion should be suspended for a year. Obviously there are exceptions. I bet someone found a winning lottery ticket on the ground before too - some poor guy has been struck by lightning twice- it does nothing to further the discussion. When a guy at the second most important position falls to day two because of his measurables - it’s fair to mention that GMs see him as limited physically. That doesn’t mean it would be impossible to succeed but in discussing a guy who was a healthy scratch many games, it’s another data point in a small sample of data we have to discuss his future potential. could he be a 12 sack a year pro bowler? Sure. Is he more likely a hard working, good teammate that does the dirty work while the 12 sack guy across from him gets the pro bowl nods? Yea. obada was terrible. That he kept him off the field is also a concern. I think he will step up a bunch but also think managing expectations for him will be major for how this board perceives him the next three years.
-
exactly this for me and that would sound like glass half full or half empty depending who you ask. I could see him being a good “glue guy” in the defense that holds the framework together while others get to be the showy impact players. You need both.
-
his draft slot doesn’t indicate elite talent either… I think the key to the optimism is managing what that expectation is. Viable rotational guy could be optimism after being inactive, right? It’s a tricky word for the purpose of discussion here

Giants prepared to release CB Bradberry (now released)

you might be a bit dramatic. also you are likely fooling yourself if you don’t think some extra chips are on the table this year. And that’s a good thing to do. -
like not being able to run your backup offense or defense through an effective practice
-
that they are using a liability loophole to circumvent workmans companies limitations. I don’t know this states rules but say a couple hundred grand cap based on the guys salary - but by backsliding it they are still effectively going after the shop as the shop indemnified the guy but now it’s not subject to the comp caps (is the theory at play)
-
to be fair, you don’t seem to understand the underlying legal claim either.
-
but the scope of the penalty is grossly out of balance.
-
see and I’d argue his investment in IDL indicates he sees value inside. unless I guess he chalks it up to josh being able to escape DT rushes
-
do you feel that obligation to every stranger on every topic?

“why do we think we are we supposed to respond”

It’s a third round pick. how many of those are stealing jobs? Dudes likely to be a journeyman backup who they will at some point prey can take them to 3-4 wins when tannehill is out for a stretch. He doesn’t get to act like it’s a first round pick to replace him.

Angry texts sent to Beane after Shakir pick

bellichek is one of the premiere proponents of the plateau method. Essentially trade back as long as you can while there are multiple guys in the same tier then go get the last one. We’ve talked about it for years with the patriots (going on decades almost). The blessing of late being that they aren’t rating guys particularly well. “oh man - we wanted him too!” I mean, I don’t think it was anything shocking -
flip side to that argument if all of them (plus another) flop is that we may have either missed something others saw or… the quote was simply saying if he went with another young guy and none were impact players people might wonder if it’s a weakness in our front office. Quite a few steps to get there but if we got there it’d be fair questioning at least.
-
its not but using a 1 and two 2s to is like investing the value of a pick in the teens. Having 3 guys the hope would be 1 breaks out to be a solid starter. If we added another pass rusher in the first this year it would be a viable question to ask if we aren’t evaluating the talent well if none of them broke out.
