  1. League needs to address this before one of the larger guys has heatstroke. Perhaps have the Dolphins on the road for the opener and night home games in September. Average daily high in Miami is 89 in September, drops to 86 in October. Skew the home schedule towards Late October on. I think Jacksonville has the same issue in September, but temps drops off more quickly in October. Most of the other hot weather cities are Domes - Atlanta, NO, Houston, Dallas, Arizona, LA.
  2. After seeing the return to action of both Tre White and Von Miller aren't we being a bit optimistic that Milano will be 100% by opening day. His injury was no minor ding.
  3. Pretty sizeable difference in $$ between low on the totem pole asst coaches and PS vet QB backups.
  4. Our WR needs are a largish Mike Evans/MVS type with 4.4 speed & great ball skills in close quarters, and a John Brown type who makes defenses respect Josh's arm. Still wondering if Isabella, who has elite [4.31] speed, can ever become that John Brown/Don Beebe guy.
  5. I've been to two playoff games, and am 0-2. 1963 vs. the Pats in the Rockpile, and at Nashvegas for "The Music City Forward Lateral". My top regular season game was watching Cookie run for 5 TD's and [at the time] a pro football record 243 yards in a mosh pit at the Rockpile, I'll have to go back and tally my other outings.
  6. On Sirius this morning, they were talking about this exact thing, that "Old school" coaches are increasingly at odds with today's players.
  7. I was at a US Open at Torrey Pines, Tiger won it in a 18 hole playoff with both a tibial injury like Milano's and a torn ACL. Had the knee rebuilt the next week. Just saying, even golf can get you hurt.
  8. If the Bengals don't tag Higgins, You can bet Callahan will be doing everything he can to get him to Tennessee. Titans have a RIDICULOUS amount of cap space available.
  9. Hate to bring this up, Cookie had a serious injury, given T. White's recovery time before reinjury, there is always a risk Milano may not be the same Cookie that was a key part of our defense, I think that means we have to do what we can to keep Dodson, or trust that Dorian Williams can augment whatever version of Milano comes back.
  10. Isn't Mike Shula supposed to be the "Josh Whisperer". Otherwise, not sure what he does on the staff.
  11. Jim Brown was called a "fullback" He was a prototype of a modern day "running back", speed, power, able to stretch the field in passing situations, not especially interested in pass protection. Cookie Gilchrist was a FULLBACK, Boobie Braxton was a FULLBACK.
  12. PFF has Diggs graded at 21, and there are no surprises among those ranked above him. Keenan Allen, Mike Evans, and D Hop are the only WR's OLDER than Diggs who are graded higher. The one thing tho, the best ability is availability, and Diggs did have the fifth most snaps in the league among wideouts.
  13. Best DT of his era, Knees gave out at the same time the Bills fell apart in the late 60's.
  14. Not sure where Marv gets 1/3 of the game. Snap counts for Teams in 2023 were about 17% - 1/6 of the game. We have Bass, Martin, Ferguson, Gilliam, Matakevich & Neal as core special teamers, Spector and Hamlin played more snaps on teams than on O or D - everyone else played meaningful snaps on either O or D.
  15. dont forget the shovel pass.
  16. Hindsight is always 20/20. I think we gave up the draft choice for Jefferson in the Diggs deal. Who would you rather have now; Jefferson or Diggs.
  17. Douglas who will be 29 next season - may have a limited shelf life as a CB1. With his size and tackling, a move to safety may be in the cards. CB and WR's are becoming younger every year.
  18. Burrow's cap hit is phased in, "Only" $29MM in 2024. They have Chase locked up on his rookie contract for just under 10 mm for 2024, 5th yr option will be pricey in 2025.
  19. LaPorta probably deserved the TE spot, he posted mad numbers for a rookie TE. Not sure why they picked 2 RB's instead of 3 WR's or 2TE's. Passing league.
  20. You have a QB whose arm talent is feared around the league, give him someone who can be a threat to take the top off of defenses. Not sure there is another Tyreek in the wings, but Josh def needs a deep threat.
  21. Agreed, and remarkably he still almost hauled it in. Unusually for a Hochuli led crew they kept their flags in their pockets for the most part - good and bad.
  22. Agreed and at least one has to have elite speed, and [hopefully] be able to catch the ball. We are playing in a conference with Tyreek, Waddle, Chase, Higgins, etc. Our QB arguably has the best arm in the league, but we don't have the weapons to use it to strike fear into DC's.
  23. Since Beane and McDermott began to control our drafts [2018] we have drafted 45 players. 21 are currently on our roster, 2 on IR, 15 on other teams rosters, and 7 are either street free agents or out of football. Notable Bills draft choices on other teams rosters include: 2018 6 187 Ray Ray McCloud - SF 2018 1 16 Tremaine Edmunds - CHI 2018 5 166 Wyatt Teller - CLE 2018 3 96 Harrison Phillips - MIN 2019 2 38 Cody Ford - CIN 2019 3 74 Devin Singletary - HOU 2020 3 86 Zack Moss - IND 2020 6 207 Isaiah Hodgins - NYG
  24. Our defense against the Chiefs was down 4 game 1 starters - Tre White, Milano, Benford, and Bernard - who all played every defensive snap in the opening game. They were replaced by Douglas, who was IMHO an upgrade, Klein who was a huge downgrade, the rest of the snaps were picked up by other folks who were roster depth on opening day, [Dane, Dodson]. Tough situation out of coaching control
  25. Tee Higgins next landing spot unless he is franchise tagged.
