TNF: Jets @ Browns (TT vs Darnold)
billsfan89 replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference is the Browns have a #1 draft pick QB on the bench whereas morons here were calling for !@#$ing Nate Peterman to start over him because he looked better in pre-season last year. -

Tyrod isn't the only issue with their offense at the moment but a big move like that might just be a big enough change to awaken their offense. It would liven up the game for sure. -

Honestly, I still miss him, Allen would benefit from not being rushed in. What's done is done they did get a good return for him at the very least. -

They might pull Tyrod. I don't think the offense's ineptitude is completely on him but the offense might need a spark and Mayfield coming in might be just what they need. -
Make run at Matt Moore or Landry Jones?
billsfan89 replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Neither one excites me too much, I actually wouldn't mind signing Kapernick but the process probably wouldn't want all the controversy and distraction that would come with it. I don't know what even decent veteran backup QB is out there. I wouldn't mind trading a 6th in 2019 for a halfway decent veteran QB just as a backup to Allen. But I am not sure what team has a spare vet QB. -
Predict Josh Allen's stats v the Vikings
billsfan89 replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
225 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT's, with a 55% completion percentage. -
Actually, Kelsey at one point signed a deal worth 7 million a year (I have no clue why this team kept handing him deals way above market value) Murphy's current deal is just over 7 million but considering Murphy's deal as a percentage of the cap compared to Kelsey's Murphy is paid considerably less. I thought Murphy's deal was a bit of an overpay but if he can be a reliable supplemental pass rusher in a rotation it will be a productive deal.

Report: Bills Will Work Out OT Matt Tobin
billsfan89 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a year where you are trying to build for the future I would rather take my chances on younger players than a vet who hasn't impressed much. I honestly liked the Newhouse acquisition as a cheap swing tackle but it might be time to cut the team's losses. -
Whaley was good at pro-personnel decisions. But he was also were pretty bad at drafting. I also think that Whaley was also not good with managing the cap. He wasn't tragic at it but Whaley's big spending pretty much capped out the team for several seasons afterwards. I think Whaley was more mediocrity waiting to happen as you can't build a sustained winner without good to great drafting. You can plug holes and fill in some spots with free agents and trades but you build the base with the draft and although the jury is still out on the 2017 and 2018 draft classes for the Bills I do like the 2017 class (White and Dawkins could be real building blocks, Milano a late round pick is a solid starter, and Zay still has time to turn it around) more than I liked any of Whaley's drafts.

I meant Boettger, I would cut Newhouse as well but I fear this staff will favor the vet and try to sneak Boettger to the PS. -
Are you !@#$ing serious with this question? This has to be trolling. Now it could be that the McBeane experiment fails. But after a playoff appearance and what looks to be a rebuilding year in 2018 it is hardly enough to say they are doing a bad job, esp if you factor in that they have used 2017 (Despite the playoff appearance) and 2018 to put themselves in position to build a team around a young affordable QB in 2019. I will grant you this if they wiff on their 2019 cap space and draft classes and Allen is a bust then McBeane will have failed and will be as craptacular as anyone except maybe Marv and Jauron (At least McBeane will have the playoff appearance.) But there is no way you can look at McBeane and think they are worse than some of the bad regimes that preceded them at worst they get an incomplete grade.

21 starts in 74 career games, was an undrafted free agent for the Eagles for a few years before bouncing around the last 2 years. Not a bad kick the tires depth move. Although I don't know where he fits on the roster. They have Groy, Newhouse, Teller and Bollinger as backups, unless they cut Bollinger or Newhouse (which is possible) there does seem to be much room for him on the roster. -
Predict the score: Bills at Vikings
billsfan89 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
31-10 Minny. I think this game is a close 14-10 game at the half but the Vikings pile up the points in the second half as the defense breaks and the offense turns the ball over. -
The Deep State War Heats Up
billsfan89 replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I would dispute him being a billionaire many times over, most of his wealth comes from his personal evaluation of his Trump brand. Setting that aside, (And there no doubt that Trump is wealthy very wealthy just the extent can be disputed) if there is a global powerful elite why not just ruin Trump and his family with bankruptcies and hardships. Trump has ties to the mafia, everyone in the tristate area knows someone with a shady Trump story. Surly the Deep State could do better than they have. With the resources of literally the world at your back I can think of thousands of ways to take care of someone causing trouble. I some plebe on a message board can think of 3,000 different ways they could have taken care of Trump by now. Yet the real global elite can't get the job done? I think it is more likely that you are being hustled by Trump apologists masking incompetence as conspiracy. The deep state is alleged by many to be some sort of global group that secretly controls the world. If they had managed to control the world I think they could have the guy from the Apprentice taken care of. Could it be that there are elements within the US government that don't like Trump and are working against him? Yeah I think that could be, but that's far removed from a NWO style regime working against saint Trump. -
Anyone ever go through a divorce with a child?
billsfan89 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am just telling you what I have heard from some pretty credible people, at that age it isn't nearly as life jarring an event but still be sure to see your child often obviously. I am no expert myself but that's what I heard from pretty credible people. As for the jealousy side, you should feel OK to be a little jealous but eventually, things will settle down and you both will be OK with it. Just avoid sleeping with friends or people she knows. There will be some friction even couples who are together fight over how to raise a child. So it is natural that split up people will too. Just don't let it get personal or uncivil and keep it away from your child as much as possible. My parents are still together but they did fight a normal amount of the time and I would classify them as having a healthy relationship. Overall I am confident you will be OK and your kid will be OK based off of what I read. -

Wouldn't they have the resources to take care of anything? Suddenly they became unable to control the guy from the Apprentice? I think if they offered Trump 50 billion dollars to !@#$ off he would take the buyout. You could say they aren't all powerful but you can't have them be all-powerful and incompetent. -

For a deep state conspiracy against Trump to make sense you would have to believe that the deep state is both all powerful and incompetent. -
Anyone ever go through a divorce with a child?
billsfan89 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
3 is a very young age where children haven't fully developed a sense of home. So the split will not be very traumatizing for the child. At least that's what people who do child psychology have told friends/coworkers of mine who had little kids and they went through a divorce. The big challenges will come once the both of you start to live your own lives and you try to co-parent. For one it could be difficult for her to see you with other women or you to see her with other men. That can cause bitterness and resentment. Secondly, issues with how she raises the child and how you raise the child could be a big source of tension. Now it is better for a child to have divorced parents than living with parents who are in a toxic relationship. So don't feel like you are immediately doing the wrong thing if your relationship was just not functioning properly. But just be prepared for these challenges to arise. As another poster said do not bad mouth the mother in front of or even anywhere near the child. Don't look back in anger. Be a credible dude and a good father. There might be some bumps in the road but if you do those two things you and your child will be fine. -
Alabama would beat the Buffalo Bills, 'analysts' say
billsfan89 replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
12 Alabama players were drafted last year let's go ahead and assume this year it is 14 just for sake of argument. How many of those 14 players will be good NFL players? Probably at least 6-7 will be outright busts, maybe you get 8 that will be good NFL players. Then out of those 8 that aren't busts how many are going to be impactful in their rookie years? Maybe 3-4. So right now on Alabama, you have 3-4 NFL caliber guys right off the bat. The rest of the roster wouldn't be able to compete with NFL players. The Bills would completely destroy Alabam. -
Alabama would beat the Buffalo Bills, 'analysts' say
billsfan89 replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is absolutely ridiculous. Every year there is a fan/pundit debate over wither the best college football team could beat the worst NFL team. The NFL team would crush any college team no questions asked. NFL Teams are composed of essentially multiple years of the best college football players in the country all in their physical primes. On Alabama how many players on the roster right now will end up being drafted into the NFL? Then how many of those players will have great rookie years? The number is probably a handful of Alabama players could come in and have success at an NFL level right away. So where does that leave the rest of the roster? You have a bunch of players who won't be able to compete with guys at an NFL level. !@#$ off with these silly questions every year. -
Would you draft Oliver or Bosa?
billsfan89 replied to Skins Malone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there wasn't a trade down offer for a QB I would take either honestly Bosa but that's dependent on a lot of things that have yet to play out. But ideally I would love to see a trade down to a QB thirsty team if the Bills have a top pick. Preferably I would love to see the Bills get a top 10 pick while still netting a 2nd round pick in 2019, a 4th round pick in 2019 and a 1st and 3rd in 2020. That might seem like a lot but if rookie QB's are gold then the Bills can and should get a haul of picks. Drafting in the top 10 they could still land an impact player but adding an early 2nd and early 4th in 2019 would allow the Bills to address additional needs. The extra 1st and 3rd in 2020 sets up a second great draft while Allen would still be young and cheap. -
SI - Josh Allen, Thrown to the Wolves
billsfan89 replied to TheElectricCompany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My concerns with playing Allen behind a bad supporting cast is that his footwork development could be negatively impacted. But the Bills simply do not have a choice now and playing will help Allen improve in processing and decision making. I don't think you need to put every QB in a Mahomes like situation (Sits for a year and inherits a lot of offensive talent) but with a rookie QB you do need to have a plan to improve the talent around him? With Couch and Carr who were brutalized in their rookie years those franchises were expansion teams who were in need of 2-3 off-seasons worth of talent upgrades to get competitive. By the time those teams started to accrue talent those QB's went through 3 brutal seasons. With Goff his team was pretty bad his rookie year but they had a windfall of cap space to try and build a team around him, the signed a lot of offensive talent and traded for Sammy, they also had a good core defense. Within a year they had Goff with the tools he needed. The Bills will have the cap space to go out and make the big moves necessary, the Bills might even have a top pick to trade down and accrue more picks which could be a windfall of talent. So long term having a rough rookie year isn't a death sentence. -
He can clearly play in the NFL but beyond being a good run defender along the edge (Which has limited value) he hasn't show much and he has durability issues. Yet he is still young and not far removed from being a high draft pick. This season needs to play out before we know exactly just what kind of future this kid has. He doesn't need to be a pro-bowl player to have a long term future as a significant piece of the puzzle but he has to flash his ability more and stay healthy. Also his 2019 salary is guaranteed he will definitely get rotational snaps in 2019 but I think he still has time to pan out he just needs to stay healthy. Then again he could just be a JAG even if healthy. Still I think you have to see where he is at after this season.
