  1. I think Groy is going to the bench. The All-22 actually gave favorable grades to the O-line outside of Groy. Odds are the coaches see that the O-line play isn't as bad as the eyeball test leads you to believe.
  2. The defense needs to look more like they did in the second half of the Chargers game than they have the other 6 quarters of the season. Allen needs to make some big throws. That's about my only expectations, I think the defense will be what I look to most. Can they build on what they did in the last 2 quarters they played? Allen I expect to get crushed and make a lot of mistakes. But hopefully he makes 2-3 really good plays to keep his confidence up.
  3. The All-22 said that Groy was the biggest issue on the O-line, hopefully Bodine can help set the protections better and hold up in the middle better. The Vikings are nasty so it is going to be a long day for Allen if Bodine can't help out in that regard.
  4. Wasn't Mahomes looked at as a big armed project QB? He had a year to sit in KC and the Chiefs have a great offense around him, not shocking that Andy Reid would have a second year QB playing so well. I would have preferred Rosen at the time of the draft but I do think that Rosen's ability is good but limited to being a good but not great QB. I see Rosen's ceiling as Sam Bradford at his best. Now that's a pretty good QB but it isn't one that's going to be a top 8 QB and probably will float between 8-15 in QB rankings. I also think there were more than legit injury concerns with Rosen that could negatively impact his longevity. Allen on the other hand can be a top 5 QB if his footwork and decision making pan out. Now that's a lot to ask of a QB but Allen at least has the smarts and work ethic to make it a possibility. I also think that the college game's spread offense is making it harder to evaluate traditional QB tenancies. So often big armed QB's who need refinement will end up getting higher on the draft board. I don't think you are wrong necessarily (Although I will disagree on Trent Edwards even before the hit he wasn't lighting the world on fire and his limited arm strength was always going to cap his ability) Allen is a project but a project that has all the tools mentally in addition to the physical capabilities. I don't know why but I think Allen will pan out for the Bills. It might be a rough rookie year esp early against a lot of tough defenses but in 2019 I think we will see the potential Allen has coming more to the forefront. Allen needs to improve a lot of aspects of his game. That's to be expected from a raw QB prospect with limited offensive talent around him, nothing tragic there. The good news is a lot of those aspects will simply come with time and experience. Allen is a hard worker by all accounts and that leads me to believe that his decision making, pocket awareness, and overall running of the offense will improve with the more starts he gets. The biggest issue will be footwork, footwork is leading to his accuracy issues. Now it is possible for a QB to improve his footwork. Allen looks to have done that somewhat in the off-season. But footwork is probably one of the hardest things to change for a QB (I would saying throwing motion is the hardest) and Allen will have a lot of work to do in order to improve his footwork and thus accuracy.
  5. I had the Browns pegged as a 7 win team entering the season, after 3 weeks I still think that's where they will finish. The Browns defense is legit and Baker is an exciting rookie QB. But with Baker they will struggle as he will put up rookie type games and the team will struggle to finish games as closing out games is always the first thing young teams struggle to do. The AFC isn't stiff competition for the wildcard spots out of the East Miami might be oddly competitive but I can't see them finishing above 8 wins. In the AFC South I like the Jags to win the division and I think one of those 3 other teams will compete for a wildcard spot as I can see at least one of those 3 other teams winning 9-10 games. Out of the AFC North I think you have the strongest competition for wildcard spots. Cincy, Baltimore and the Steelers could all finish 9 wins or better. In the AFC West the Chiefs are holding it down but the Broncos and Chargers could both push 9 or more wins. Overall I think to get into a wildcard spot you will need 10 wins in the AFC and I just don't see the Browns getting there.
  6. It also depends on how Bosa and Oliver emerge as prospects. The college season is still young lots of things could happen with those prospects. But if both finish their seasons strong and remain top tier pass rushing prospects I think you have to get a good package to trade down. I agree it would be hard for a team beyond the top 10 to trade up, when the Rams traded up from pick 15 they had two second round picks and traded semantically picks 15, 47, 49, and their third rounder along with a first and third in the next years draft. I don't see many QB thirsty teams having that kind of draft capital unless there was a team willing to trade all of their picks in rounds 1-4 plus a haul in 2020. If you get offered for sake of argument picks 8, 40, and a 1st in 2020, to me that's not enough to pass on a premier pass rushing prospect. I think you need at least a fourth in 2019 and a third in 2020 added onto that package. Honestly I am not sure there is a QB in this draft that will be in demand to a Goff or RGIII level. I hope there is because it is always good to have that trade down option.
  7. If you feel Allen is a franchise QB why draft another one? Allen's trade value if he has an expected rookie season isn't going to yield pick 7 or anything even close to picks 12, 53, and 56 that were used to trade up for him. This idea that you can just draft a bunch of QB and surely one will look good is flawed. Now if you don't feel Allen is a franchise QB then you make the move to get a new one. At some point you have to put QB's in a position to be successful. Assuming you have a top 3 pick that's a tremendous asset, if you use it to draft a QB that's investing a big component of what can improve a team. Should the Titans have drafted Jared Goff the year after they draft Mariota? No the Titans took an insane offer of 2 second round picks, a third round pick, and a first and third the year after. Once again this is based off the concept of the Bills feeling like Josh Allen can be a top level QB. Yes if he looks incompetent you can reassess. But there is no sure thing in the draft and there is no certainty that your previously drafted QB will hold any significant trade value.
  8. Unfortunate for Shaq to be out, this is such a critical season for him, hopefully the week inactive heals up whatever nagging injury he has.
  9. If you feel Allen is a franchise QB after his rookie year you are best off trying to accumulate picks in a trade down or draft Bosa or Oliver as a pass rushing force on defense. I think no matter what unless Allen looks completely tragic the Bills are going to build around Allen both via free agency and the draft. As much as I like Oliver and Bosa I think the better play is to trade down for a package of picks IF it includes a top 10 selection in 2019, a 2nd round pick in 2019, a mid round pick in 2019, and a 1st and 3rd in 2020. That would set the Bills up to get 3-4 primer prospects in the 2019 draft and set the team up nicely in 2020. But if the offer is much more modest in a trade down take the stud pass rusher and figure out the rest. Odds are the Bills will have spent significantly in free agency and hopefully will have less holes to fill. Significant Pass rushers don't often become free agents so filling that need for a front line pass rusher is critical for the success of the defense. So for an extra 2nd and a future 1st I would pass and just take the pass rusher.
  10. In any college with tens of thousands of students you are going to have a good selection of hotties. As far as do warmer climate places have hotter women? Yes and no, NYC has as attractive a female population as any place in the USA. I would also put Chicago as up there. But there are also many warm weather cities like Los Angeles that have an equally insane level of attractive women. I think it is far more dependent on the metro area than anything else. But I could easily see women being more attracted to going to warm weather areas for college. I think parts of the South and Southern California in general has an insane level of attract give women.
  11. IF it was an actual rule instead of a suggested guideline players would get fined. The NFL and other sports leagues fine players for uniform violations if this was actually something they could penalize players for they would do it. The person you are arguing with does not seem to comprehend this.
  12. Seems like what is impressive about Allen is the ease to which he can throw a bullet of a pass. He can put a lot of zip on a ball without having to throw his whole body into it. Then when he throws his body into it he can launch it seemingly 70 plus yards. Dude is still raw but if he can continue to work on his footwork he can go places (I believe that his decision making will only improve with time.)
  13. In a sense that the Bills could be a team with a year two QB that makes a big win now push I could see the Bills going on an off-season spending spree to surround Allen with talent. I see at least 1 big O-line free agent and 1 big skill position free agent being added to the offense. The Bears added one of the top WR's on the market in Allen Rob, a significant complementary piece in Tyler Gabrielle, and one of the most in demand after TE's on the market in Burton. To top it off they also added in a early second round WR in Miller. That's in addition to adding Roquan Smith and Mack to the defense. The Bills have to spend big in 2019 to radically improve the offense around Allen. The whole plan was to have a rookie QB on a cheap contract and have the cap space to spend around that.
  14. Whaley did draft Miller who put in 2 really solid years at RG before last year when he fell apart in 2017. Mills hasn't been a stud but he is a good run blocker and Whaley picked him up off the Lions practice squad. The O-lines under Whaley were generally pretty good, now that's not all on him, as you said InCog was a Rex decision and he inherited Wood and Glenn. But he managed to find some pieces around those 3 esp with Miller those first two years.
  15. David Amerson would be a nice player to kick the tires on considering how depleted the roster is at CB. Amerson was a second rounder from the Redskins in 2013, he was a bust there after 3 seasons he got cut, he was picked up by the Raiders in 2015 and turned in a great season. He signed a big contract in 2016 and produced well for them starting on that 2016 12-4 Raiders team. He got hurt in 2017 and was released probably not worth his big salary and easy to be cut on the third year of a big deal. He signed with the Chiefs but was cut before the season started. If he fits the scheme and the contract makes sense I would really not mind bringing him in.
  16. Sammy only missed one game last year and he didn't put up eye popping numbers despite being on a very good offense with an emerging young QB. I think Sammy is a good player maybe even a very good player but I don't see him being a top 5 WR in the league even if he stays healthy. I see him as DeSean Jackson type player, which is a big play WR but one that isn't an elite all around player.
  17. Main issue yes but not the only issue. The team as a whole played better when Mayfield came in.
  18. The difference is the Browns have a #1 draft pick QB on the bench whereas morons here were calling for !@#$ing Nate Peterman to start over him because he looked better in pre-season last year.
  19. Tyrod isn't the only issue with their offense at the moment but a big move like that might just be a big enough change to awaken their offense. It would liven up the game for sure.
  20. Honestly, I still miss him, Allen would benefit from not being rushed in. What's done is done they did get a good return for him at the very least.
  21. They might pull Tyrod. I don't think the offense's ineptitude is completely on him but the offense might need a spark and Mayfield coming in might be just what they need.
  22. Neither one excites me too much, I actually wouldn't mind signing Kapernick but the process probably wouldn't want all the controversy and distraction that would come with it. I don't know what even decent veteran backup QB is out there. I wouldn't mind trading a 6th in 2019 for a halfway decent veteran QB just as a backup to Allen. But I am not sure what team has a spare vet QB.
  23. 225 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT's, with a 55% completion percentage.
  24. Actually, Kelsey at one point signed a deal worth 7 million a year (I have no clue why this team kept handing him deals way above market value) Murphy's current deal is just over 7 million but considering Murphy's deal as a percentage of the cap compared to Kelsey's Murphy is paid considerably less. I thought Murphy's deal was a bit of an overpay but if he can be a reliable supplemental pass rusher in a rotation it will be a productive deal.
  25. In a year where you are trying to build for the future I would rather take my chances on younger players than a vet who hasn't impressed much. I honestly liked the Newhouse acquisition as a cheap swing tackle but it might be time to cut the team's losses.
