  1. The Bills won’t make this trade. Their cap is just not built for this type of deal. I would love to acquire a dynamic pass rusher but I don’t see this happening. I think the Cowboys like taking things down to the wire
  2. Glad Marv made it! Such an impressive milestone!
  3. Ankles can linger but if they are given proper time to rest (which with over a month left until the opener there’s a good a chance he gets the rest he needs). Issue with in season injuries is they tend to rush people back.
  4. KC’s gonna be elite this year barring catastrophic injury. To be the man you gotta beat the man…
  5. This team is hurting for a bye and it’s early August sigh
  6. Reminds me of that old Larry Bird story where two of his teammates try to get to practice before him and every time they beat him Larry would just show up 30 minutes earlier to the point where they show up at 530am and Larry was there.
  7. Possible but I don't see them getting more than past the wildcard round. I think more likely a repeat of last season is likely 8-9 wins and just missing the playoffs. You can't win in the playoffs more than 1 game if you have a terrible defense and offensive line. No matter how good your QB and WR's are you need to be able to at least get some stops and protect your QB and provide a ground game.
  8. I don't think the Bengals are gonna be in the post season this year let alone beat KC again. But in this unlikely hypothetical it would be hard to argue that the Bengals with two SB appearances and a 3rd deep playoff run wouldn't be more success than the Bills who have been more consistent but haven't achieved a SB run once let alone twice. But the Bengals with a bottom 5 defense and bottom 10 offensive line and suspect in other areas are gonna be in the playoffs let alone contenders...
  9. Defenses are ahead of offenses at this point and the offensive line has been banged up (Spencer Brown and Alec Anderson banged up Dawkins has had a lot of vet rest too). I would be more concerned if the defensive line was looking good... It's training camp, I wouldn't put too much into it. Landon Jackson was in my mind at best gonna take the Smoot role of a backend rotation DE. Bosa and Groot are the starters AJE is the key rotation player and Hochet/Solomon/Jackson will compete for the remaining snaps. I know we all want rookies to come in and dominate but sometimes they need to marinate for a year or two.
  10. The Bengals had a two year window where they were a contender 2021 and 2022. They made it to the Super Bowl and lost a close game in 2021 and made it back to the AFCCG in 2022 and lost a close game. Back to back seasons they haven't made the playoffs and have not been able to put a good offensive line around Burrow and watched their defense degrade into one of the worst in the league. In the Bills worst seasons with Josh they win 11 games and a playoff game victory. If I were a Bengals fan I would be very pissed if they let Burrow slip through their hands because the owner is incompetent and cheap...
  11. Tua's game is pretty good when he actually plays he reminds me of a very poor mans Drew Brees. The issue with him is mostly durability. When he plays he is arguably a top 10 QB certainly at worst not far off.
  12. I do wonder if all these mostly minor (Hairston and Anderson the only ones with the chance so far to miss multiple weeks from what I am hearing) injuries is giving the Bills recently drafted players in 2024/25 plus the UDFA's and backups the chance to really develop? If Spencer Brown is out for a week of camp or so that's more reps for Van Denmark and Grable to soak in and get reps against starters on defense they might not have gotten? As long as the starters and key role players that are out come back in the next week or so I think they will have plenty of time to shake off any rust. So maybe extra reps for others isn't a bad thing.
  13. Burrow is gonna pull a Carson Palmer and just ask out in 2-3 years. For as much as I have had my issues with Beane and at times how he has built the team the Bills aren't putting bad teams around Josh nor are they shooting themselves in the dick with cheap ownership.
  14. It's pretty obvious that the defense against KC has been the problem for the Bills 4 out of the last 5 playoff eliminations. Even in some of the Bills playoff wins (Dolphins in 2022 and Ravens in 2024) the Bills defense was shaky. I am willing to write off the 2022 Bengals loss as sort of the "Season from hell" from Buffalo tons of injuries on both sides of the ball and many other mentally exhausting things happening that season with the Demar Hamlin situation being the most notable. But the 4 KC Losses were mostly on the defense. The only playoff game where the defense "bailed out" Josh was the 2020 Divisional Round. That's it every other game the Bills defense played well (Broncos 2024, and Steelers 2023) the Bills offense put up big points too. In 12 playoff games since 2020 the Bills have only given Josh 3 good defensive performance and one "bail out" there's a reason why the Bills restocked the defense with younger talent in the draft (no WR fell that wasn't a slot and they needed the talent injection.)
  15. Ironic that one of the reasons Benford was drafted so low was because he was viewed as a zone only corner with average athleticism who only played against lower midlevel college talent. McD might have been the perfect situation for him.
  16. I don't think Hulu is part of HBO Max, as Hulu is owned by Disney? Maybe I am mistaken as there's so many streaming bundles now.
  17. They offer a student discount where you can get it for $5 a month. Probably need a university email of some sort but worth looking into if you want to legally see it as cheaply as possible.
  18. Defenses are much more geared to stop the pass nowadays but they are also a lot more flexible. Billy B in New England ran a 3-4 defense but it was always adjusted week to week depending on the offense. Some weeks they would go 2 DT's and 5 LB's other weeks they would do a flexible 4-3 hybrid defense and then other weeks they would do a pure 3-4. I think most DC's run flexible schemes and esp in the redzone/goal-line they incorporate a lot of 4-6 concepts. Could it work as a full time defense? Probably not given how it can be game planned around via spread offense. The reason it worked for the Bears so well was that in addition to their insane Hall of Fame levels of talent in the front 7 teams didn't run spread offenses that much. Wishbone? I think it could work as a package teams do. I think one scout said full backs are used so rarely that it confuses defenses sometimes and now OC's are using them a bit more. So maybe a few Wishbone flexible formations would throw a wrench into the defense now and again.
  19. As a kid I always loved the Hall of Fame game, I wasn't old enough to know that even by pre-season standards this game was worthless and it was the first chance to watch any sort of NFL football since the Pro-Bowl (which I used to love as a last chance to see NFL players for 6ish months). Now I could care less given that even by pre-season standards this game isn't worth much but I always have fond memories from when I was first becoming a fan of the NFL. If the Bills are in it I do still check it out but probably not past the 2nd quarter. Still it does feel fun to see just how close we are to the regular season it's almost August!
  20. Draining fluid if I had to guess
  21. You gotta really like a player for him to be someone you watch their ceremony for. Most of them are very similar, they thank their family, their coaches, teammates, close friends, and spouse if applicable and they give some anecdotes about their playing days and talk about what an honor it is. So unless you really really care about a player it's not that dynamic of a watch.
  22. It doesn't seem like a malicious thing just people getting bad info. Likely their source is a lower level employee getting second/third hand info if I had to guess. Just have to be aware that it isn't the most reliable source going forward.
  23. My thing with Tre is that I in a very perverse way expect him to be great and then get hurt at some point if he is logging heavy snap counts as a starter. In 2023 he was looking like his old self (playing like a Pro-Bowl/All-Pro) and then he got the major injury. I think he's gonna play 7-10 great games but will possibly get hurt again if he's logging heavy starter snaps. I think the team needs to have Hairston being able to absorb some snaps for Tre in some situations so that Tre can be at 60ish% of the defensive snaps. Just my two cents but having a healthy Hairston by the time the season starts is a massive plus.
  24. A minor setback to his development to miss the remainder of camp and all/most of pre-season. But man what a relief for this to be an overall minor injury. I am glad to hear he's OK. Give him all the time he needs, he can work on the mental aspects he needs to.
  25. Fans saying they are not the most reliable source. Never heard of them breaking news before so not sure what their track record is with that.
