  1. It all depends where the cap sits. If the cap is under 185 million which many think it will be I think Brown is a cap casualty unless he takes a massive pay cut to get his cap number below 5 million. If the cap is over 195 million and the Bills actually have some room to work with then I think Brown can stay esp if he takes a small pay cut to lower his cap number to around 7ish million.
  2. The Bills don't have a running game because Josh was so impactful throwing the ball. I do hope that this team can find more balance when needed but don't expect this team to have a consistent ground game in 2021.
  3. It would have been a closer game but I am too sure if the Bills would have won. I think Brady would have eaten this defenses lunch. Which means Josh would have had to put up 30ish to win and against a good defense that might have been hard. Overall though the Fisher injury sealed KC's fate and that's unfortunate because I think the game would have been much more competitive had they at least had Fisher.
  4. Bring back Wallace on an affordable deal and draft a CB in round 5. I like Tre/Wallace/Johnson as the starting 3 and then you have Jackson, Gaines and another mid-round pick for depth. So many other areas of concern that I would rather not spend limited resources at a position where the team is fairly solid at.
  5. If the cap crunches to around 180ish a year (slightly higher than the 175 million floor but still putting the Bills right up against the cap the Bills might have to let Mongo and Milano walk. With cutting John Brown, Vernon Butler, Lee Smith and Quinton Jefferson and restructuring Mitch, Hughes and Addision you probably put yourself around 33 million in cap space. Enough to resign D.Williams but not much else. Hopefully the NFL comes to its senses and get the cap closer to 195 million. Just have the players keep 15% of their checks in escrow and take back whatever you need to make up for the shortfalls at the end of the season. It's what the NBA did to keep their cap the same.
  6. Honestly the turning point in the game was when Eric Fisher got hurt in the AFCCG. Outside of Mahomes Fisher might be the most important player on KC's offense. Fisher would have been or at least had a good chance to block Shaq Barrett one on one which would have helped ease the pressure massively on Mahomes and given him a shot to put up points. Mahomes is a dynamic generational QB but you can only do so much when the defense is getting pressure with the front 4 almost every snap.
  7. Have you considered that the fringe of the party is actually the significant majority of the party? Even after Jan 6th Trump still had a 78% approval rating. 64% of GOP voters said they would strongly consider joining a "Patriot Party" if Trump were to start one.
  8. I don't understand this move at all for the Rams. I think Stafford is a better QB than Goff but Goff isn't a bad QB at all and Stafford isn't dramatically better. I also keep hearing the argument that the second first round pick is compensation for taking back Goff's contract. But that makes little sense since over the course of the next two seasons the Rams see little cap relief. They are taking on 20 million in dead money from this trade and combining that with adding Stafford's 20+ million dollar cap number. So the Rams lose 7 million in cap space in 2021 and only gain 14 million in cap space in 2022. The only net gain of cap space over two years is 7 million. It seems like an awful lot of draft capital to give up for at best a moderate upgrade to the QB position. For the Lions they made the right move, those draft picks will help them secure a proper rebuild and they do right to try and get a new longer term solution at QB while Goff is a solid placeholder.
  9. It wasn't just that the game was chippy but it was more so that the game ended up being a bit undisciplined on the Bills part.
  10. 2018 had a lot of weird extremes. It does show you how good that defense was in that the team was able to scratch out 6 wins with the second worst offense in the league.
  11. Allen is a lesson in wholistic scouting. You have to examine why a player is inaccurate in college and assess if they can improve in the pros. You can't just rely on analytics and past results.
  12. I wouldn't hate Clowney on a one year mid level or lower deal. But I would prefer to try and trade for a more impactful player. But the options might be slim and Clowney on a affordable deal could make sense.
  13. The Bills rushing defense did slump in the middle of 2019 but both Star and Edumonds picked up their play. I think if Star plays like his latter half of 2019 form and Edumonds progresses a bit more I think the run defense will be strong enough.
  14. Physical tools Josh is equally as talented as Mahomes. Josh has just as strong if not stronger of an arm and both players can run. Mahomes however has a mental edge over Josh. Mahomes knows how to perfectly counter any type of defense that is thrown at him. Josh has come a long way mentally but he still has some defenses he needs to work against better. Hopefully he works on attacking zones and blitzes in the offseason. Because Josh can put it together like Mahomes.
  15. Edumonds is a solid player. When he gets good DT play in front of him he can be really impactful. But he still has flaws and I worry about his man to man coverage ability. Hoping with Star in front of him in 2021 and him having yet another year under his belt he can take a step up. He has all the physical tools to be an elite player. But he needs to improve his instincts and coverage ability.
  16. If you have listened to conservative talk radio for the past 30ish years you will know that the GOP has always been this crazy. Trump just said the quiet parts loud and the establishment cucked to him and lost control of the monster.
  17. I had kind of pegged the Jets as being able to get a pick somewhere in the late 1st to mid 2nd for Darnold. I think the Steelers make a lot of sense for Darnold. The Steelers can bring back Big Ben on a one year deal and give Darnold a one year mini-extension. The Steelers can then sit Darnold for a year behind Big Ben and rebuild him. It would make sense for both parties and give Darnold a good shot to revive his career.
  18. No evidence he isn't a culture fit yet but things can happen. Also not sure if the Jags are switching defensive schemes. If JA doesn't fit their scheme it could be a reason they seek a trade.
  19. That's the way I see it. It could be a Sammy/Darby situation where a player doesn't fit the scheme and they just try and get the best value they can.
  20. Jags Josh Allen was drafted by a previous regime and Urban could be looking to gut the roster completely and sell off parts. Not saying it is likely to happen but certainly it isn't that far fetched to think a new coach/GM might not be enamored with an old regimes draft pick who had an underwhelming second season.
  21. This is not based off any trade rumors or rumblings. I just want to get fans perspectives on creative trade ideas to get the pieces needed to get this team over the hump. One of the hardest pieces the Bills are going to have to find is a good edge rusher. And unlike when the Bills traded for Diggs this team doesn't have the cap space to take on a bigger contract or a player seeking a bigger contract before the season. If I were McBeane I would try to see if they could try and pry the "other" Josh Allen from the Jags. Perhaps pick 62 and a conditional 4th in 2022 could get it done? Why it makes sense Jags Josh Allen was the 7th overall pick in 2019, drafted two spots ahead of Ed Oliver. He had a great rookie year with 10.5 sacks. However in 2020 he had only 2.5 sacks in 8 games and got hurt. Jags Josh Allen was drafted two years ago by a regime that is no longer in charge. Coming of an injury and a down year it might be a good time for the Bills to make an offer and try and get him at lower value. A late 2nd round pick plus a future mid round selection is not an insignificant return and if the new Jags regime isn't sold on Allen then getting good draft compensation for him might not be a bad idea. It also makes sense from the Bills perspective as Jags Josh Allen is only making 6 million this season and is locked in for one more year on his rookie deal and has a 5th year option. It would be a good use of draft assets to trade for a young player with 2-3 years left on an affordable deal. Why it doesn't make sense It is hard to give up on a 24 year old who is one year removed from the Pro-Bowl on a rookie contract. If Meyer really likes him he isn't trading him for a late 2nd and a future pick. Also from the Bills perspective if the Jags are willing to give up their Josh Allen then that knee injury might be more serious or his dip in production in 2020 might be more indicative of longer term issues. Not sure what other more interesting trades that satisfy the Bills could be out there but let me know what you think of this one!
  22. He probably would have been better than Chan but the Bills issues were well beyond the coach at that point.
  23. If I were Beane I would try and trade for the Jaguars Josh Allen, maybe package pick 62 and a future conditional 4th? JA had 10.5 sacks his rookie year but only had 2.5 sacks in 8 games in 2020 and then got hurt. Maybe you get the Jags to bite getting back a late 2nd for a player drafted from a previous regime? These types of risky creative moves are what might be needed. Not sure Meyer is going to want to move off of a player so quickly but it could happen.
  24. Star comes back which I think helps the DT situation, I also like Phillips to have a big year getting another year removed from injury and in a contract year. Combining that with Ed and possibly Butler or Jefferson (I think they cut one) and I think you are solid at DT.
