Drew Bledsoe Comments on Buffalo
Armchair GM replied to Nix Buddy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has nothing to do with what we think of the loser...it's about class, character and integrity. -
That's just wrong bro...not even close to being funny...I'd expect more from such a veteran poster. Really? Personally, I find it hard to believe that a guy that has put up the #'s that 8 5 has in his career has no idea what he's doing on the field...
-
Ditto...how long do we keep him around? The guy just simply can't stay healthy.
-
Brilliance!! 1000% agree. With that being said, we blew the trade negotiations...seriously, a fourth!? Sorry, still heated. Anyway, I said this in another post, while using much less words...Lee doesn't fit this offense, and totally fits Baltimore's. I know it's only 1 game, and everyone if favoring *NE to go to the Bowl, but I say watch out for Baltimore!

Jerry Sullivan says: This Roster is a crumbling
Armchair GM replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all...please shoot me!! This regurgitated turd of an article has gotten soooooo old! If I actually cared to take the time, I bet I could find 10 more, written by this shmuck, which follows it verbatim...with the exception of inserting a different name here and there. God, at first glance, you would think he was new to Buffalo! Anyway, and I can't believe I'm about to say this, but this is no stretch of the truth...he may be a little off here and there, but is generally on the money. #1 - This isn't a "crumbling monument," it was a pile of rubble when the latest of regimes came through the turn style. Last year, they cleared the lot, so to speak, and got rid of some boulders. #2 - I completely disagree that the franchise is still on the slide! Clearing the lot, a mentioned in #1, was the first step to rebuilding. The second step, after they had an idea of what pieces of the foundation were missing, is to fill in the holes & cracks. IMHO, a great defense is the foundation to any successful NFL franchise, any good team for that matter! So far so good, but we have a whole season to go b4 we can say it's stable. #3 - If they follow suit and address the O next year we'll have the frame work for a sturdy first level. Again, another year is needed to work out the kinks, and to settle in. That, my friends, is how a rebuilding franchise operates...some may flip flop 2&3, but that's a matter of preference. The statement that we are lacking players in the prime of their careers is also false. We may be lacking franchise veterans, as he pointed out with only 4 guys with > 30 games in a Bills uni, but I don't care that Merrimen hasn't played a snap yet, he's still a vet and at the age, for his position, of a player in his prime. Injuries, and personal issues aside, he's young enough to play catch up while currently being one of the best on the field. And what about Barnett, Morrison, Edwards, Johnson, Davis, Florence & Scott? And that's just the D. I'm not claiming that any of them are elite players, but they ARE, in fact, at the point of their careers where they should be playing their best football. The offensive side is a bit more difficult, but as I mentioned b4, it hasn't been focused on as of yet. Though young and green with Fitz, McIntyre, Jackson & Parrish, we have a solid core of leadership. On to Lee Evans...I love Lee, but I see him exactly as he is...one dimensional! Even that corpse, Jauron, tried to get ore out of him with crossing patterns and underneath routes. Fact of the matter is, his skill set will not be utilized in this offense. I think they did him a favor! I’m not saying he's not good, he is at what he does, and he's in a system now that he'll find much more success. Baltimore has the best "in traffic" receiver in the NFL with Boldin...now they have a deep threat and defenses won't be able to double team either of them because of the match up problems a 1 & 2 like that present. Admittedly, I don't like Sully, but this isn't a bash session...I'm simply stating what he so willingly neglects to mention about the positive direction the Bills are finally headed in. Flame away!! -
really? these guys are competing at the highest level of thier profession, and if you don't think they go into a season believing that they are going to win, you're nuts. by no means is this an insult to players, but it's an ego thing. they believe they are the best at what they do and they believe they will win every game. where do you think the "I guarantee we make the playoff's" stements come from. these guys are a different breed & they ALL think this way.
-
Sure do...i think it was against the Chiefs too.
-
PASS...content, actually excited, about our LB's. Got a couple good vets and a ouple young up & commers with tremendous upside.

Bills Talking Contract Extension with Parrish
Armchair GM replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because, in limitted action last year, Scoe proved that he's more of a well rounder WR. He's faster than Evans = deep threat, and he can catch the ball in space and make plays...this equates to a better WR, IMHO. -

If this holds true, garbage posts like this wouldn't make it out of the gate. First of all, this is the NFL, not pop warner, so even entertaining the idea of such a gimmic is rediculous. Seriously, what would be the point? The OP stated his opinion as to whether or not Jasper even makes the team...what would this accomplish? Secondly, why wouldn't he make the roster? Most teams in a 3-4 are 3 deep at every position on the line. Williams and Troup, to an extent, are exceptions to the rule that the primary objective of a NT, on running and passing downs, is to eat up blockers to free up the LB's to make plays. From what I've seen, Jasper does that, and does it well as he's doubled on pretty much every snap. I would rather Jasper be on the roster than Heard, regardless of skill level, for developmental reasons alone. Be it from the Bills or another NFL team, this will not be the last we hear of Jasper...billieve that!

Look what coaching can do

AWESOME...new nickname for Jimmi Spags ----> Captain Caveman! I expect to hear this chant when the Jests come to the Ralph this year...you'll never see as many grown men piss themselves in one place ever again. -
Listen, the FO @ OBD can only do so much being partially handcuffed. If you want to see a change in the culture of an organization, it will have to start @ the top and trickle down as it does with any successful organization. The Sabres, and Buffalo, got lucky with Pegula. He's a guy that is more enthusiastic about the actual game than the $$ he can make off of it. I'm no Ralph basher, but the only way this organizations culture changes for the better is when new ownership takes hold of the reigns. Hopefully, it'll stay right here and we will get what we deserve as a loyal fan base...an organization with a winning culture that will produce a winning product. OR...we can hold out hope that Ralph has a moment of clarity in that he realizes he can't take all his $$ with him to the afterlife, his kids want nothing to do with the team after his departure and he says F*$@ it and goes for a SB ring before he expires...
-
I am inclined to agree...I can't find the article, so no link, but Chan and Buddy have said that they will play their base on both sides of the ball in Pre Season so as to evaluate their players'physical ability to actually play in this league. Seems to be a logical process in rebuilding a team to me.

Graham seems to think that the #1 RB Job is Spiller's to lose, not Fred's...? Boom goes the dynamite

" 'They' put me in the right situation"
Armchair GM replied to FightinIrishBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good point, but we're dealing with principles here...i'm going to make it my mission to make a story out of this -
2 points: 1 - Last year was the first year of installing an offense... 2 - Pre-season play calling is very vanilla so as to rate the players on physicality & ability to compete @ this level. Keeping it simple eliminates mental errors. Basically, i'm saying your evaluation is premature and a bit ignorant (not in an insulting way, just uninformed as of yet). Bottom line...the OLine will be a thorn in our side this year unless they really pull it together and gel as a cohesive unit.

Bro, you watch wayyyy too much t.v. Aparently you don't know better Jimmi. It's time for your meds now, nighty night!
