I hate this time in the NFL calendar. It’s slow, repetitive and painful, the same sort of crap every year.

It is still heartbreaking to think he is gone. He was among the best of what Buffalo has given to the world.

The coaches are trying to motivate Flacco. If he sees his competition maybe he will play better. /s

My wife who is usually a very good judge of this stuff says she saw signs of him being “disconnected” or “dark” in the episodes aired so far this season. I remain stunned that he went out in the way that he did. At the same time, it’s paradoxically not unexpected. The guy had demons and I think he sought to overcome them through work.

No kidding your wife does not pay. She still owes me!

I hope to live through at least one more dot com era where you could throw a dart blindfolded at ticker symbols, hit one, invest in it and make money. Some of them you could make inexplicable money. Market bubbles are a truly wonderful thing in hindsight.

My vote would be to please get rid of the train horn. I hate at the stadium and on TV.

The good old days were those that existed in a time when adults did not act like spoiled two-year old children on a message board. Other than that, they are those days where we are best able to revise our recollection of history while being dismissive and critical of the current generation. BTW current generation consists of whatever age group us old farts wishes to put down.

The issue is that the Bills have been at best a middling team for nearly two decades. You can throw on top of that that the QB position is in heavy transition with three completely unproven players, an o-line that is now in the midst of a major shuffle and a coach that still has not proven himself over time. The mix of these factors would weigh heavily on the side of a poor season for the Bills when viewed from the outside. The Bills best hope is that they have a very solid D and they get at least average production out of the offense. If so we are probably looking at another 8-8 type season. Anything better than this will largely rest on getting one or two breaks and getting better than average production out of the QB position.

This would suggest that his addiction just shifted focus. Keep in mind he also gleefully smoked weed on the show when he could.

I was absolutely stunned as the guy seemed to be living his own dream life. I guess the reality was that he was struggling with his own demons. May he RIP.
