People probably just need a better understanding of what type of speech is covered by the existing 1st Amendment. Its doesn't cover defamation, obscenity or political lies. It also doesnt cover your right to continued employment if you exercise your freedom of speech while at work or outside of work as a representative of your employer. There are already limitations in the existing amendment. The problem is loud and ignorant people dont understand them.
