Around the League Thread - Week 15 (no bills discussion please)

Slow it down….44 isn’t pushing 50 😆 That’s what I’m going with -
Adversity builds character. When everything has been given to you from day one, adversity will bury you. “Offensive Offside” was real insight into that weakling’s true character. Happy to see the universe balance itself finally.

Debate Over: Drake Maye can’t hold Josh Allen’s jockstrap
MasterStrategist replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maye is a solid young QB. But like others stated, he did crap in the 2nd half when it mattered. Can he continue his success into next year and forward, or become another another Mac Jones (or slightly better)? Point is, he isnt anywhere close to a top tier QB. He has a great OC and system, and he is good, but hes not proven to be a game changer/clutch QB. That takes time and he mifht prove it, but not a sure thing. Until proven otherwise, Maye is no where near Allen. -
work Christmas parties.........love em or hate em

Hate 'em. I like my co-workers, but 40 paid hours is more than enough time to spend with them each week. -

Sf 44 was moving forward before the snap on that. Hard to guard a guy with running start. -

Dawson Knox - franchise record for TD receptions by a TE

He’s become Mr. Consistent and Reliable. Remember when he couldn’t catch anything. Props to him for getting past that and never looking back. -
Dawson Knox - franchise record for TD receptions by a TE
BillsBlue replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMHO we need to extend Knox and then trade Kincaid for a high pick, Kincaid gets hurt every other time he plays and his hands are suspect, Knox turned the corner and always seems to get open at opportune times when the team needs it the most....he's clutch, Kincaid not so clutch... -
Has Josh Allen put himself back in the race for MVP this year??
ToGoGo replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Serious question, in Allen’s career has ever had a big first half in a big game and then choked in the 2nd half and we lost? We just saw that two weeks in a row with Burrow and Maye. -
I'm with you on Maye. I commented after he beat the Bills in the first game that he still has a lot to prove. But he and the Pats have feasted on weak and average teams all season. We know they can do that. Again, I really, really would not count on Miami in that spot. I hope you're right, of course, and will be rooting for it.

Man at this point I would even take just a decent WR. Like Jakobi Meyers right now would be the best WR on the team. Palmer despite his supposedly great "separation metrics" is a weekly no show. Coleman has somehow gotten worse than ever. Cooks is obviously washed. Shakir is our best overall WR but looks to me like he is still playing hurt and he is inconsistent at best getting open on downfield routes. As pessimistic as I was about the room before the season it ended up being significantly worse than even I expected. Failing to make any kind of trade at the deadline is almost unfathomable. Like you said the blocking and the TEs are very very good if not great, so that combined with Allen and Cook doing their thing might be enough. If it was like 2020 with KC and the Ravens still at their best I'd give this team no chance. With the state of the conference as it is though we are just one of many teams with a glaring weakness so maybe we can slip through.

Dawson Knox - franchise record for TD receptions by a TE
Steptide replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right now, Knox is playing better than Kincaid, so I'd stay with the hot hand and keep throwing to Knox. It probably wouldn't even effect Kincaid numbers anyway -
A lot of teams have injuries. IMO a reasonable expectation for the D is to be middle of the pack holding the opponent to 17 - 24 points per game. The Bills have focused their offensive strategy and the lions share of draft & FA capital on support of the D. Letting teams get up by multiple TD's on the first half is not acceptable. Sure they played a lot better in the 2nd half but by that point the Bills needed an almost perfect performance by the O to grab the win.
