UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?
Joe Ferguson forever replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
he's both. his tariffs are idiotic. The bombing was a huge risk which may or may not have achieved his objectives. The spending bill is horrible adding trillions to the deficit and seriously damaging health care for the poor and rural hospitals. He's made them a cash cow for the rich. The manner he's instituting his deportation program is evil and relatively ineffective in the big picture. His cabinet picks were largely ridiculous especially Kennedy. We now know what he meant by that statement. It was a command to hold their fire til the time he commanded. They understood and obeyed. He's aligned with the white supremacist pigs. They are aligned with him. He proved that with the pardons. His congress scum go to their rallies and meet with them. He meets with them (Fuentes). But most of all, he's amoral. That may help him succeed but I think the costs outweigh the benefits especially in regards to the morals of his decent followers and the national ethos. The nation is losing decency by the minute. -
It's pretty nice when your team is so stacked, they can use draft picks on highly specific needs........like in this case, 3rd TE in Goal Line situations. Maybe they also hope he can develop enough to take the TE2 position when Knox's contract runs out, or becomes too much for the strained salary cap to handle.

The funny thing about national injunctions is that Dems in 2022 and 2023 including Harris and some of the justices found it important to reduce or ban national injunctions when Texas judges were doing the same thing against Biden. In all fairness, I am sure than many conservatives were fine with the process back then. Realistically, we can all admit that if the Supreme court had made this ruling two years ago, that the party reactions would have been opposite. With that in mind, I think that it is a fair ruling and would have also thought it back then. The ruling went beyond partisan. This loophole was always there, but was now being weaponized. This was a power that was starting to be abused by both sides over the last few years and was way getting out of hand in this term. It would have only gotten worse for Trump and even more so for the next President, regardless of party. The ability to start the process of a class action ruling gives state judges the power to fight what they perceive as unfair, but requires a little more support so that it is not the same few extreme people (for either party) having the power to slow the progress of a President down at will and using it frivolously. The decision yesterday was good for the country as a whole and gets rid of an disproportionate power balance while replacing it with a more reasonable solution.

there is two points here that need to separated- one is that district court judges can not make injunctions for the whole country, that is basically what was decided by the SC yesterday. Two is if what Biden did in regards to immigration was at all constitutional then what Trump is doing is fully constitutional. Your point about slowing societal change rings very hollow when liberals had no issues with Biden importing people without any background checks

Im more interested to see if he can be a special teams ace like Reggie Gilliam.

Dawkins and Torrence "snuck" into the new stadium.

It was impetuous whoever wrote an article, or posted they snuck into the building. It was clear this was planned. The team wants to keep the fans excited about its construction. It makes complete sense. I’m sure we will all enjoy the new stadium. -

Maybe. Maybe they were determined to make it work until they got the offer for the second and couldn’t pass it up. we don’t know. what we do know is factually 100% not true is that we entered the 2024 offseason over the cap because of the Diggs trade. -
Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?
FireChans replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s kinda my point. It’s “common knowledge” because we all kinda thought it happened. But none of us really had any info about it. Your “evidence” boils down to @HappyDays being curious. This is probably some sociological phenomenon where if something is repeated enough, it becomes factual. It’s not shocking you don’t have a link Carolina complained. Because I don’t think it happened. -
Seems like they knew they were determined to send Diggs packing -- maybe even working on possible trades -- when they signed both Samuel and Hollins. In what universe does proactively dealing with a disruptive player constitute "revisionist history"?

You said we were over the cap BECAUSE of the Diggs trade which was of course easily proven false. But really it ties into this narrative that 2024 was this year where we couldn’t add talent. Which is just not true. Samuel was the 4th highest paid WR that period. Good for one of the 30ish highest paid WRs in the NFL at the time by AAV. What REALLY happened is that he was basically a disaster of a signing and was 178th in yards. We made a similar valued signing in 2025 with the addition of Josh Palmer. So if Curtis Samuel was the “consolation prize” because of the Diggs trade (which he wasn’t of course) or because the cap situation was just “so bad” then 1 year later in apparently MUCH better cap shape, we signed….. basically the same value player…..again. -

If we really and truly have the fifth best D line in football this year, we win the Super Bowl. End of discussion. I have my doubts.

During the Obama and Biden times, conservatives repeatedly used lower court rulings to constrain their orders. That is a good thing and in keeping with conservative principles in that it forces slower societal change through laws developed in the legislative branch. Through this process, the 49% of Americans who supported the losing side of the presidential election felt that they still had some say, through the courts, in the future of the nation. Now we have a SC which is repeatedly increasing the power of the presidency through their decisions. Trump will use these powers to the max. And these new powers will be used by all who come after him, including those with liberal views. This is not a good thing for society in that it allows for more radical change in either direction, depending on the whims of one individual. The other 49% will feel powerless and become increasingly hateful, all of which is bad for America, making us more divided and less United.
