I mean, thats way better than what theyve had for the last 15 years or so. And I think a lot of Bills fans would have taken that during the heart of the drought. None of those QBs are long term options, but if they got one and managed to sneak into a Wildcard spot just once, it would certainly rejuvenate the fan base. And then you tank when that guys contract is up and hope to nail a QB with an early pick. But I dont even see any of that happening as long as Woody and Brick are in charge.

He literally was better late in his time in Chicago than Darnold was late in his time with the Jets. Fields went for a similar package to Baker (the best of all of them). The difference is, the Steelers didn’t play him so they avoided it becoming a 4th. Randy Moss was once traded for a 4th. Trade compensation doesn’t mean much to me. Player A: 13-25 record, 225 total YPG, 59.8 completion %, 50 total TDs, 46 turnovers Player B: 10-28 record, 235 total YPG, 60.3 completion %, 54 total TDs, 41 turnovers In case you didn’t guess, player A is Darnold in NY and player B is Fields in Chicago. To say, “there are levels to this” is just wrong. They were pretty similar, with a slight edge to Fields. That holds especially true if you look at the most recent season for each in NY & Chicago.

Not only is he not “buried deep on the roster” but - barring injury - he’ll have the highest snap percentage in the WR room. Coleman is the closest thing the Bills have to a legit X. Nobody else on the roster can really fill that role. Hell, I’m not sure it’s a good spot for Coleman either, but he’s what we’ve got and they’re going to play him there at a high rate. All these posters coming in (after a day or two of non-padded practice) saying that the best 3 WRs are Palmer, Moore and Shakir and they are the ones who should play think this is fantasy football. That’s a Z, a Z/slot hybrid and a slot. The only one of those guys who can possibly move to the X is Palmer and moving him there would diminish his contributions. I don’t think many posters realize the massive difference in having to line up ON the LoS and getting to line up a couple of yards behind it.

It's tough. I think the NBA does a pretty good job with this stuff, but the season is so much longer. On the other hand the NFL looks like Steve Buschemi in 30 Rock. They league can and should do more, but you can very quickly let it get out of hand and dominate 17 games.

I'm way more concerned with Vrabel out-coaching us and pulling a fast one on McD to squeak out a last minute FG and win by 1-2points than I am worried about their talent on the field. But to that point, our guys better be ready to play when we face NE because Vrabel will have his guys ready for a physical game.

I thought Walker is more of who compliments Oliver - able to plug-in running hole if Oliver is gambling to penetrate fast or tying up multiple blocking to provide more 1-on-1 opportunity for Oliver.
