Week 8, Bills v. Panthers, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Fr. Jerk replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall

I’d say McD doesn’t know O from his own fart. Not sure that counts. Plus Dabs might get fired and Brady looking like a used prophylactic wrapper at the moment.

Brady hasn’t been a HC. Daboll is the only branch

🤷🏻♂️ while I don’t think McD is an elite coach by any means, I think he also has an upside of breaking through and winning a Super Bowl. sure, I’d love to have several coaches that already have jobs and aren’t going anywhere…but they aren’t going anywhere. Which available HCs have that upside? Tough to tell with coordinators. If there are any, I’m willing to make the move if we don’t make the SB this year. I was willing last year and the year before. I just think that it’s certainly possible for us to be more than minimally worse with any coaches available.

Bills’ greatest needs heading into the trade deadline?
Norcalbillsfan replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd give our 1st for olave, because its hopefully a late or god willing the last pick. And a talent that olave was coming into the draft would never make it to the end of the 1st. Its a gamble because his injury history. But the talent is clearly there and he hasn't had quality QB play yet. Josh Allen is 29, its time to do another diggs type of trade. -
Game week thread - Bills at Panthers (Game week preview on pg. 18)
ganesh replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Josh goes back to playing like Josh, then we win every game irrespective of how our defense holds up.....The last games, we failed to put up 30 points and that was the difference between victory and loss. -

Welcome Back after the bye, and congratulations again to the two week's ago winner, @H2o! The Bills head to Carolina after the bye to take on the Panthers. The Panthers are on a three-game winning streak while the Bills are on a two-game skid. Will Larry Ogunjobi and Michael "Jochen" Hoecht (yeah, I know it's pronounced "Hoyt", but I like the German) provide the shot in the arm to the defense? In a word, no. The Bills offensive woes continue, especially without Palmer. The defense will continue to have a horrible third-down percentage and the pass rush will apply about as much pressure as a feather duster. I'm really down on the Bills, and until they bounce back, I'm from Missouri on this one: Beews - 24 Panthers - 31 Past Winners Week 1 - @Nineforty Week 2 - @NoHuddleKelly12 Week 3 - @Bookie Man Week 4 - @Lost and @jcamm1966 Week 5 - @RobbRiddick Week 6 - @H2o Week 7 - BYE

Will McD ever have a coaching tree?
SydneyBillsFan replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe a coaching indoor pot plant that hasn't been watered for a week. -
Can you imagine what a guru like Mcvay/reid/shanny would do with Josh? Or even just a bulldog like Campbell who would embrace him fully? would Kevin O’Connell be terrible with Josh? Sean Payton? Jim harbaugh? between this at of higher tier guys and my last list rattling off random mid tier coaches I’ve got to be close or at 15 names that would be able the win the AFCE and beat the Skylar Thompson dolphins in the wildcard? Dan Quinn showing up with kingsbury would’ve been a fine enough floor. I think demeco is fine enough even if not a favorite of mine. Mike Macdonald similarly not a guy I’m stumping for but what’s the drop off? Are we talking dropping 10 wins over 9 years and maybe miss the playoffs 1-2 times when those extra losses are clustered as the floor in this list? But also a ceiling where some have rings?

It’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation about Taron
Buffalo Ballin replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
? Thought it was known that our entire defense is over the hill. -
I agree with this so much. We have re-signed average players to big contracts. The Bills had the best chance to let Bernard and Groot play out their contract and then decide their worth. By giving them these 4-year contracts we are stuck with average play for those years and don't have a chance to look outside due to those big cap hits. We don't have all-pro's on this team and you need a few of them who are #1/#2 at their position to get us to that SB....Unfortunately, this team has none except for the reigning MVP who is also not playing well.

People who have coaching trees are innovators of the game. McD is a good leader but he hasn't changed the game in any meaningful way that others will follow.

Will McD ever have a coaching tree?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
curious why you wouldn’t consider Dabs or Brady as part of his tree? -
I sort of feel that way, but I would really like to hear from some of his supporters. I have said before, I still think talent is a bigger barrier to success right now than coaching. But if the notion that one of all time winningest HC’s will never develop a future HC is laughable, how damning is that? It feels pretty damning from leadership perspective.

I think Josh will give it here for 2 more seasons and if he does not win the SB, he is getting himself out of Buffalo to another contender (possibly in the West Coast) where he will get a chance to win the SB...sort of like Stafford.
