Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
HappyDays replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
@VW82 I just did a quick spot check on Pro Football Reference. Every QB's on target % is higher than their completion %, as you'd expect. Every QB except for 2 that is - Allen and Tua, the only QBs that have played 3 games. It seems that PFR has charted all of the throws and completions from the TNF game but has not charted on target throws so Allen and Tua both have a 0% on target rate from that game. After week 3 finishes it will update. Also - what games have you been watching that make you think Allen hasn't been accurate? I mean did you really think Allen has been off target on half of his throws this season? Come on man. -
Exactly. This team is 3-0 with multiple injuries and suspensions on defense, yet in the last two games they’ve allowed a combined total of 430 yards. The defense was always going to start slow and get better as the season progresses.

II am only watching this game for bone head stupid sacks on Aaron Rogers

Your denial, distraction, and distortion on the subject of the Smith Mundt Modernization Act speaks volumes... Mission accomplished... -

We probably agree on a lot more than one might think. Some issues are contentious, and online the hostility can be amplified. One rule I try to remember is that online posting can bring out the worst in people. -
Yeah, people are going to argue this point, but they do look ridiculous in the stadium experience. I guess we’ll find out. They just seem excessive and unnecessary.

...sometime. Sing it, Dino!

We are 3 games in and averaging 34 points/game with a 3-0 record. Nobody is giving away a Randy Moss in his prime, and I think this is less of a problem than some people make it out to be. I’m looking forward to seeing this play out this season so we’ll have a better idea of how active we need to be in the offseason, but for now I think we’ve got our WR room set. Keep running the ball effectively and we will get our shots downfield in time.

The most disappointing part of this game was the pass rush. To anyone that’s going to blame Miami’s quick passing attack - Tua’s average time to throw was 2.74 seconds - the most since 2023. His career is 2.43 seconds. The Bills just weren’t getting home. They actually hit Tua just one time the entire game. Hoecht and Ogunjobi will help displace Javon Solomon and TJ Sanders respectively. That should be an improvement in both run and pass rush. Walker will rotate and TJ Sanders will sit the bench with Landon Jackson.

You’ve been whining a lot. Seems like you are sensitive despite your protestation. I will try to follow your lead and be more civil.

Is he back from Tatooine? 🤔

Lol Every team could use a Derrick Henry

A lot has been said about what is needed on defense. Despite all the leaks, I have actually been impressed with how well they have come through at critical times, with big plays and key stops despite having a lot of likely starters on the shelf. I think once more guys are healthy, things will get better with the existing roster, though Safety still seems dicey. It's also only been three games, not enough for me to believe hot takes like that Rousseau is no longer any good, etc. It's hard to pick on the offense at all. I think we expect them to score a TD on every drive now, but that's a lot to expect in the NFL. By more reasonable measures, they look like a well-oiled machine up and down the roster. Overall, this is a really deep team and I think realistically, it would be hard to improve on it much aside from upgrading at Safety. They are 3-0 for good reason.

His completion percentage is 69.7% but his on target rate is 51%? Help me understand that one. -
The Jets have been so terrible for so long that it’s actually depressing. They have 1 SB from 65 years ago and have been fluctuating from garbage to mediocre ever since.
-
Actually it was twice today. Seems like @JDHillfan has a certain orifice on the mind. I'm not sensitive. It doesn't mean you're getting access to any orifice. Not a chance there. I'm not some right wing woke snowflake, that's for sure.

Alf episode #68. Alf reveals himself as Gordon Shumway and eats the neighbor's cat. -
It's gonna be a little different in the new stadium with the stairs. I don't like the design, and I don't understand why they're there (maybe it's multiple egress issue?). But apparently it's not as bad in "real life" as the stadium experience made it seem.

Allen over the last 11 games (including playoffs) has 30 TDs and 1 interception. I know people know Allen is great, but this is Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Montana, Rice-level great. Has he reached his final Super Saiyan form ? The only thing he could possibly get better at are deep balls, but I think that has more to do with Brady.

As far as I could tell the down and distance was first and ten. Then we ran one PA that got snuffed and went right back to it.

You are too angry to deal with at the moment... When you calm down and regain your sense of humor, we can talk...

I still think we need to give it more time, but one of the things that needs to improve is Josh's accuracy. It felt like he's been missing a lot of throws so I double checked and sure enough his OnTrgt% is only 51% through three weeks. He's typically in the mid-high 70s. 51% would rank DFL in the league most years. Decision making is really good but accuracy is off and precision is off. Can't blame it all on receivers and coaches.

My thoughts from attending the game, in chronological order. Took my dad for his 80th. 1. Tre White got the biggest cheer out of the tunnel. And I thought he had a decent game. Got beat a couple times but so did the rest of the D. 2. Huge hit by Shaq got us all screaming. Nice to see him with such energy. 3. Kincaid block on the Shakir touchdown popped. Dude is rounding out his game. 4. Bernard interception stadium erupted! Obviously the biggest play of the game, also let all the angst the collective group was feeling out. The party was on. 5. Mr. Brightside after Elijah Moores catch and run. I don’t care if it’s cheesy, it’s so fun to scream the lyrics. The party continues! 6. McDermott’s call for a field goal was the right call even if Prater had missed. Mc D’s decision making has been good. Leaning aggressive which is right where he needs to be with this offense. Crowd was positive and happy. So many high fives all around.
