Are Fan Expectations Too High for Keon Coleman?
NewEra replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
No- What I’m saying is- wait and see. Listing other players accomplishments or failures as proof that a player will have success or not proves nothing. Keons success (or lack thereof) will be determined by Keon. Not by players of the past. He can become a star. He can flop and be out of the league by the time his rookie contract is up….but that’s on him. Not examples of the past -

That is not what I took from that at all, but then, I don’t have an agenda here. -
Right now I think he's in the Andrew Luck territory. Looks like he will be a sure fire HoFer. As long as he stays healthy and doesn't suddenly retire. Luck couldn't stay healthy and retired...and I think missed out on what would have been a HoF ending to his career. I don't see that happening to Josh As long as he plays and produces over the next 6-7 seasons he will be in there, Super Bowl or not.

So, what you are saying is that the lofty goal of around 500 yards as a rookie is basically meaningless. We agree. -
The funny thing to me is that if we did not have Josh Allen there would have been a fairly high percentage of posters that would have wailed and cried for Buffalo to sign Rodgers. Many of those are also the same ones laughing that the Steelers signed him.

I see us sweeping the Jets. I don't think either game will be close either. I can see 2 tough games with the Dolphins as they have been playing us close the last few years. In theory, we could drop one to them or we could sweep them. It's their Super Bowl every time we play. The Patriots are a bit tougher bro predict. New coach, new roster. One thing I know is that the idiot Vrabel always seems to coach well against the Bills, his teams are ready to play. I think we drop one to them in their building. It will be close. I see us beating them in our house...and easily.

Davante Adams had 38 catches for 446 and 3 TDs. Antonio brown 16-167-1 Chris Godwin 33-535-1 Reggie Wayne -34 575- 3 steve smith- 29-414-0 Tyreek Hill 61-593-6 isaax Bruce, Terrell Owens and Emmanuel sanders all failed to reach 525 yards. There are a lot of examples for both sides of the argument. Some of us ignore the fact that one (or several) persons success or failures doesn’t dictate another’s future. -
The one that started zombifying movie fans? …..maybe not, but one of the best and original.

5-1 lose to the Jets week 18 with one seed locked up

I have a feeling that the Bills drop a division game this year. It’s just a feeling. Maybe they split with Miami. The Jets game at the end of the year might mean nothing. If it means nothing I don’t care about the outcome. I don’t see a lot of losses on the Bills schedule and I’m thinking 14-3 or 13-4. I’m guessing one of those losses is a divisional loss. The other 2 or 3 will come from (Ravens, Bengals, Eagles, Chiefs, Bucs, Falcons, or meaningless Jets).

Don't think NE will sweep us. They have a new-look team so I'm reserving judgement and saying they theoretically could.

Another player who went to the NY Jets only to see his career die a slow death.

That’s cool, hometown boy makes good. Trying to tread lightly here, but the country exposed itself with the efforts/success to keep Adam Lambert from rightfully winning. Kid was a treat to watch, again, best performer on that show imo. Got to add, he did his best, just couldn’t buy into him fronting Queen. Glad the kid cashed in on his talent, though.

5 time first team defense. 4 time 2nd team defense. 4 time all star. 4 time nba champion. 1x defensive player of the year. 6’7 with the ability to defend centers and every other position Tremendous facilitator. He WILL be in the Hall of Fame. There’s snow doubt in my mind. Did I say there would be? No. Put words in my mouth. You said NEVER. I said you have no clue what you’re talking about. So you don’t like that teams realized that it was much more difficult to defend a team that has 4 3 pointer shooters on the court at the same times. Spread the d out, penetrate, kick and rotate the ball til it gets an open shot. I get it. It’s not for everyone. I hate the flopping as much as anyone. It sucks. Yes- it’s a different game now. That has nothing to do with the added skill and athleticism of the players. The skill and athleticism is at an all time high. Old school fundamentals have been replaced with new fundamentals to match the new game that’s being played. If you can’t play D nowadays, you can’t play. Defense is being played…. Teams are a lot more difficult to defend due to the rules changing and the evolution of the 3 point shot. OKC plays great defense and they may win the title with one super star and 1 star (yes, Jalin Williams is a star in the making and he also plays great D) because of how they play team defense. you don’t like it. Totally acceptable. I don’t like it as much as I used to either, but I can still watch the game (I watch nba, college, BIG3 and G-league) and see how the skill level is much greater now than it was in the 80’s. These kids play WAY more ball nowadays and have much higher levels of training and coaching available to them. And it shows. -

Yep. There are tons of examples, but they will ignore them. Why? Because Coleman is a Bills player. And as a Bills fan, we tend to dismiss the negatives and look for the positives. If Coleman was on the Dolphins or Chiefs, he would be called a bum around here.
