The bottom line is the Bills are winning and are sitting at 4 and 0 on top of the AFC and there is room for optimism that they have not peaked and there is certainly room for growth. There have been some frustrating inconsistencies and missed opportunities to take control of some games that have you on the edge of your seat as a fan just begging them to put that team away. The defense did keep the Saints bottled up and off the score sheet during that 2nd qtr. offensive lull so there have been some flashes. Shaq Thompson has looked solid at LB. Special Teams felt like they struggled a bit with penalties, poor punts, and poor punt returns/field position which made it seem like the field was tilted our way for a long stretch and we were playing too much in the shadow of our own EZ. We are usually pretty solid when it comes to managing and flipping field position in our favor. I think OBD may be considering Codrington as a replaceable piece, but I have to admit that I like having him as a returner. I feel like he has really settled that role that had been a bit of an adventure in seasons past, but certainly a luxury if that is all he does on the team. I have heard speculation that they are looking ahead at freeing up spots, and perhaps they are also giving some visibility to Curtis Samuel to boost trade value? Teams realize that the Bills were struggling getting set on D and as predicted the Saints went with quick snaps and no huddles to take advantage of that and it worked a few times, and we saw McDermott having to burn a few timeouts to get things settled. It seemed like his adjustments were effective so that is good. On at least one occasion I think McD had a good point that the Refs were not allowing the defense the time to match an offensive substitution. This reinforces my general impression that we had the "F" grade officials for this game. Per NFL Rules: if the offense substitutes one or more players, the defense is allowed a reasonable opportunity to substitute as well. Referee responsibility: The officials — particularly the umpire — will stand over the ball to prevent a quick snap until the defense has had a fair chance to respond. I think this was what had McDermott hopping mad is that they were not waiting for the Bills defensive substitutions and preventing the quick snap. "No huddle" or "tempo" offenses: If the offense does not substitute, they can snap the ball quickly, and the defense must be ready without delay.

I am 100% confident that it was my fault we were in a slump in the 2nd. I took off my Kyle Williams jersey in the 2nd because I was so hot at the game. Once I realized they were in a slump and the only thing that changed was lack of KW jersey, I immediately put it back on and that was when Bishop had his pick and they cruised the rest of the game. I don't know if the issue was crowd noise as much as the Saints coaches saw on film, the Bills are maybe slow to line up after plays. It also seemed like the Bills pass rush pushed forward well, but repeatedly left the middle wide open for Rattler to escape. Could again be their coaches saw this on film and knew they'd often be facing two rookie DT's so took advantage of it. Supposedly Moore was this offensive genius, maybe he is and figured all this out. Saw a stats today too that the Bills went from giving up 8.9 yards per pay in Q1 to 3.9 the last 3 quarters, so maybe they did figure things out. But do agree the coaches need to figure this out if that is what's going on.

A snarky question from a reporter isn't a reason to be physically imposing to a female to the extent that I don't find her question, or the tone in which it was asked even worth mentioning. This is a Ben Johnson problem. Full stop. There's no excuse for it.

Ironically, these two plays created 10 points for our offense and helped seal the victories in both.

To the bolded, I'm pretty sure the Bills are doing a lot of self-scouting and testing of various strategies, tactics and personnel. I believe that's why the margins of victory have been what they've been the last two weeks... because the team recognizes that this part of the schedule gives them a little leeway to test out different approaches and players.

I mean Tua just put up 315 yards the week before against the Pats and then had 146 against us and averaged 1.4 yards in the air per completion and at one point midway thru the 3rd quarter was averaging -0.5 yards in the air per completion. Rattler had over 200 yards passing in every other game this year and put up 126 yards against us. Fields just came off putting up 218 yards against the Steelers with a 72% completion rate and had 27 yards against us with a 27% completion rate. Seems a little odd all these players have better games against other teams since our D sucks so badly. Also seems odd that since our D sucks so badly it's averaged allowing 16.5 PPG and 243 YPG over the last 3 weeks without any of the opponents ever reaching 300 yards of offense even when accounting for the poor run D. I mean that's baseline average in the NFL these days, really not even...around 320-330 is average. Seem like you might be overreacting to how "bad" the D has been because you don't watch other games which means you have no perspective of what is normal and what isn't around the NFL. Is there room for improvement? Sure. Are they some sort of "worst in the NFL D" like many here think? Not even close.

So the Bills are affecting the QB and making him move off his spot, just not getting the sacks. I would be very hard to put Bishop in the trash can as it would be well overflowing by all the other players the fans wanted in there, starting with Spenser Brown, Coleman as you mention, Knox, Bass, and many others I can't even recall. Who should we sit instead of Jackson? The team is only going to make 4 DE's active, the only one you could possibly argue to sit would be Solomon and to me it's not at all surprising the a 5th rounder with a full year of experience under his belt can beat out a 3rd round rookie. They've also talked about how playing DE is much harder to learn everything you need to know that DT. I saw posts on some thread questioning why draft him if he's not going to play. That answer is simple, at the end of this year both Bosa and Epenesa are free agents and even at DT Jones is likely gone along with Phillips and IMO unless Oliver either has a massive year or agrees to a pay cut he could also be gone as he has a very high cap number. And while he had a great game 1, it's hard to have a massive year when not playing so that could work against him too. Jackson very likely was drafted to replace Epenesa next season, maybe they will re-sign Bosa depending how his year goes and how much he wants, but next years D-line could look much different.
