Hey Colin, I enjoyed your post. Are these typos (spellcheck etc) or some new urban expressions? Is a "tub" like a haphazard pass? Is "cheeks" like saying they played like "ass" (a popular expression these days)? Thanks @colin for a chuckle amidst the gloom. -
Can everyone just take a freakin breath?

Guess what... the #1 seed is also still very in reach, too. No team in the entire NFL has less than 2 losses. The Bills have 3. Getting the #1 seed would be nice, but it's not like it's a deal-breaker for winning the Super Bowl. -
Totally agree....this is the first year since 2000 where I didn't sign up for Sunday Ticket. I spent an enjoyable day watching my grandson play travel baseball rather than stress out over what we're going to do or not do "Bills-wise". It is exhausting and with all this said I feel really bad for Josh. He deserves so much better.

I’ll never think it’s over with Allen at QB but I have no hopes for this season and I think this team needs a full reset. Too many bad contracts as much as I think McD is a good coach, I also think we need a new front office and coaching staff. It’s just getting stale. Coaches look for dawgs. McD actually coached the dawg out of Allen.

but they did turnover the ball. They turned it over because they were pressing. Both fumbles were them trying to get just a yard or two more after already having solid runs. The int was Josh pressing because there was nowhere to go. Miami also turned the ball over twice. they were pressing because they were stopped all game long. Miamis turnovers didn’t matter not because you want to call them arm punts but because they controlled the game through the entire game.

Not only that, but the Eagles play a more difficult schedule than we do. They've yet to play their 9th game. But they have 3 wins over winning teams. We have 1. The teams they've beaten have a combined win loss record of 27-27. The combined win loss record of the teams we've beaten is 21-36. But beyond all of that, you can chalk their losses up to a bad day at the office. They have a Championship Caliber roster from top to bottom. Our roster had a major glaring flaw going into the season that has performed even worse than even I expected. We're 2-3 in the last 5 games and have lost to the dredges of the league. To ignore that and the flaws of this roster and say "well we really beat up on some bad teams and the Chiefs and that's who we really are" is beyond looking at the glass half full. It's like looking at the glass as overflowing and ignoring the liquid pouring out of the massive hole in the glass.

Well, they did hit on this years draft class and FA's, also have 11 draft picks in 2026 and the most cap space. Vrabel is a great coach and McDaniels is a great OC. Vrabel got TN to the Conf Championship with the #1 seed and Derrick Henry, but couldn't seal the deal. They're not Brady/Hoodie 2.0, they haven't won anything yet.... We're not done yet either, a team like this can get in the playoffs as a WC and do some serious damage. If they win the Div then they get the Div winner schedule though, and we hopefully get an easier one.
-
Well yes but I think Cook even pressed a bit today. He hadn’t really had any big runs. He lost focus on the ball fighting for an extra couple yards on an already good run. Josh did the same on his fumble. ironic thing is that Vrabel built the team McD has been trying to since he got here.

Allen has missed open receivers his entire career. It happens a lot. It’s not a recent thing that started with this group of receivers. However this group may be making it worse. He’s bailed clean pockets as receivers were coming open only to end up in a poor situation a few times recently, -

McDermott has also proven at this point that he actually doesn't understand how to utilize Allen to his fullest potential. We have completely bought in to our 3 TE running attack and have the highest percentage of rushing plays in the NFL. This is not an offense schemed for an MVP QB. McDermott truly does not value the way we would come out in the Daboll era with 20+ passes and get the offense rolling and a big lead. He wants to eek out wins. That's the mentality when Alex Smith is your QB. It's just a complete mis-match in personnel and coaching philosophy. And we know its McDermott at this point because EVERY OC reverts to this with him if you give them enough time. He and Daboll aren't on good terms (assuredly a power struggle of some sort), he made Dorsey a scape goat, and now Brady -- who was once running an effective 4WR split shotgun offense in CAR -- is basically trying to just call Kromer's rushing attack every chance he can. People claiming for a shiny new WR or blaming only Beane don't realize this is EXACTLY what the conservative McDermott wants. He's said as much. He doesn't want us running a no huddle two minute offense because he doesn't want to gas out his defense. He doesn't want to let Josh go off his leash because he's worried about injuries. He doesn't want to have a high octane offense with deep routes because we might throw a pick. McDermott doesn't want to take risks and he has shown this in the way he's built the team. -

Apparently some Bills people have found some clips of Allen making decisions not to throw it to open-ish receivers. In all honesty I think Allen just doesn't trust what he sees and doesn't trust his players will make the play. I think its less to do with defensive trickery and more to do with his receivers rarely being open. This can create a situation where Allen sees a man running open and then doubts he's actually open due to its rarity. "I see Coleman open, he is rarely open, the Dolphins must be doing something I don't see" -
We will never get one with Beane/Mcdermott. They're not good, Beane got lucky with one pick.

I was thinking about this early. As far as how much of this is just teams adapting to what we are trying to do. It seems like the way to beat this team historically was make them nickle and dime you. Get in your two high shell. Make Allen dink and dunk, make them run. Well, that is actually what we have become as an identity now. With no downfield threat of any kind why are you going to stay in that shell? Who in gods earth wouldn’t press our WR’s right now and put another body in the box. You can’t just say “we don’t need to do something” in this league. That goes for when Dorsey refused to run and take the check down just as much as Brady/Beane refusing to develop a downfield passing game. I don’t know what is with this team and its inability to just develop both elements. The foundation has been there for years, but we just go all in on one or the other and refuse to be balanced.

There is a reason no QB and head coach have ever won a Super Bowl together if they don’t do it in the first 5 years together. Teams start to know their tendencies across the league by that point and enough teams will have game plans that one of them will always knock them out before they win it. Huge reason Bills and Ravens both need to find new coaches or QB’s. Obviously they will both choose to keep their QB’s first but if they keep the coach it will be the same old thing again and again. Both teams wasting their QB’s with head coaches who can’t take their players any farther. Have to make a change at coach if the Bills want to win it all. Won’t happen with the coach they have now. History already proves it. There have been 33 of them and they are zero for 33 so far. AI answer to what needs to be done: AI Overview If something is tried 33 different times by different people and never works, it would likely be considered a failure, a flawed process, or a systemic problem [1]. The consistent negative outcome strongly suggests that the problem lies with the method or the system itself, rather than the individuals attempting it [1]. Common terms for such a situation include: Persistent failure: The repeated inability to achieve the desired outcome [1]. Fundamental flaw: The underlying method or design is inherently incorrect [1]. Systemic issue: The problem is embedded within the process or system used [1]. Futility: The effort is pointless because it consistently yields no success [1]. Yes, a significant change should be made. The accumulated evidence (33 failed attempts) provides robust data indicating the current approach is ineffective. Continuing with the same method would likely be considered irrational or a waste of resources [1]. -
They beat us. Maybe that's not saying something.
-
This line of thinking only works if they have proven to get it done in the playoffs before. They have not. They have fallen short each and every time. Eagles and Chiefs have earned their benefit of the doubt. I’m sure you can see that.
-
In the NFL you need to re-invent yourself every season and every week. Not For Long. Other teams will know your tendencies, know your weaknesses, and exploit them. McD & Beane are putting out the same schemes and signing the same players and we get the same result.

Throw one more C in there and we are talking about something else entirely

This one is up there with 3-6, 16-42.

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
Nihilarian replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
In a word YES! Want to assign blame then look to the current offensive coordinator. Joe Brady is brilliant at run schemes and he sucks goat nads as a passing game coordinator. McD needs to find a passing game coordinator ASAP! -
I said it in another thread but this team looks like a team that has had Super Bowl or bust expectations for years and come up short. It’s like they’re swimming against the tide this year. Nothing is easy. Everything is labored. How do you manage this team if you’re McD? What do you say to them? Put this one behind us men. One week at a time. Focus on how we play not our opponent. Whatever it is at this point I imagine it’s getting to be a harder sell.
