But is Hollins that big of a difference? Palmer worse? And how did Allen go 23-26 against KC? Bad receiving corps seems to be the meme, but does it withstand scrutiny?

Until the Bills get a new FO (GM/HC) then you are probably right. -
I really dislike what they are as a team. Soft, lifeless, no fire whatsoever. It is obvious that they desperately need a complete culture change at this point along with a revamped roster. They had theor chance and blew it. Time to give someone else a chance in the probably three-year window where Allen is still an elite QB.

Yes, there are other bad coaches in the nfl. So what? You're agreeing McD is no better than any of them? Overlooking the Dolphins shouldnt even be part of our discussion as it should never, NEVER happen. -
It's bad coaching but it's also fragile players. Are we going to be able to field 11 on D next week?
-
Fans could not wait to see Gabe Davis gone when he left for the Jags and now I’m supposed to believe he is the savior coming off an ACL injury. We have better receiving options on the team but don’t use them properly and JA is not playing well. They have focused so much energy on the run game that the passing attack seems to exist only when we are desperate and playing from behind. The passing game looks like they don’t practice it very much because that is probably the case. Samuel, Moore, Palmer are all on pace to have career or near career lows. This is not a coincidence as our focus is almost entirely on the RBs and TEs

Barring a miracle, we're not winning the division with the schedule the Pats have left. -
IMO, yes hollins was a big loss. I also think they used Shakir a little more in the middle of the field.

I'm the Division Manager, so I'm stuck having to listen to all of the presentations. Unfortunately there is too much happening. We took over an underperforming group and we have to radically re-organize them. To give you an idea as to how bad it is, their performance level is similar to that of Kevyn Adams of the Sabres. Nothing like that, but most people don't realize that their camera is pointed at them all of the time, so we get some wonderful visuals of people nose-picking, stuffing their face with food and drink, staring at their phones, etc. -

No worries. The Jets will do us a favor and beat NE this Thursday night. -
I call it the rock paper scissors element of football. We were scissors going deep all the time, so teams played rock w two high shells, now we went paper last year (and we really went paper with ten slots and no x wrs) and now teams are going scissors on us (press, crowd box, blitz) and we don't have an answer. Part of it is the talent we have (no Palmer or better to break the crowd) and even more of it is philosophy and preparation. Vs KC and even Baltimore we went in the bag and pulled out different plays and looks on o and d. We had change ups but on o vs KC we were mainly establishing the run and playing match up games off of that. Vs Baltimore once they cracked us open on d we went way more aggressive on o and hit some deep stuff outside, it stressed them and lead to a win. Even in d vs bmore we changed it up late and got stops and a turnover. Both teams on the field yesterday had a bunch of injuries to their better players. The difference is one team just fired the gm, had a bit of extra rest, and the coach was coaching for his life vs a team that always pants him. The other team spent their energy vs their Boogeyman team in an emotional win, and figured this was a game to feature different players, didn't have an answer to Miami's run d, and just sort of played random Madden offensive formations to try out their new material. We are mentally the opposite of Baltimore. They out size speed and talent other teams and front run with the best of them. They fade when the other team can take the shots and their QB falters when the light gets brighter, but piles up stats when he's given room to run. We play more smoke and mirrors and crumble with just weak plays and bad execution. We tend to play better vs better opponents and Allen gets inspired when things are scarier on the bigger stage. I think it's a bit of humble arrogance. Bean showed it when he attacked a radio guy over his total failure at the wr position. Our coaches show it by simply not bothering with a plan b, or the ability to make adjustments on the fly. Yesterday was the first opening drive we punted on this season, we had 6 TDS and a turnover going into this game, and stick azz Miami got us to punt. We went down the field in the second half opening drive in a sclerotic force of will by Allen who pressed the issue too much and threw a horrible int to end it. We can show out on scripted stuff, but we fade when the other team has an answer and we just don't seem to be able to change it up, it's like we show up with a limited play book every week. I've seen this movie way too many times. MCD and his teams have an absolute get trucked stinker one or two times every year. It's always us in desperation forcing the issue on o, and the d letting the other team truck us with explosive run after explosive run. Same script every time. We lack some talent but this team wins or loses with the coaching. It's just that simple.

The crowning irony is not that for all his extraordinary skills, Allen isn't particularly good at what McDermott wants, a pocket quarterback who is reliable, accurate, and doesn't take off running (because injuries). So, unbelievably, McDermott is probably frustrated he's been dealt a unicorn who can lift the world on his shoulders. He doesn't want that, and he's been trying for years to change him into an ordinary quarterback so he can win with field goals and a stout defense. As others have said, it's an appalling, disgusting waste of talent, the equivalent of confining Secretariat to a kiddy ride at the State Fair. Ultimately, what might suck the most is that McDermott and Beane are going nowhere, since Allen is good enough to carry this team to the playoffs every year even deprived of professional receivers. This farce is going to play out until Allen is 33 or 34, when he finally will be traded to a team he promptly takes to a Super Bowl or two. Frankly, I don't think there's any hope, since it would take an epiphany from Pegula, Beane, and/or McDermott, none of whom have shown evinced any evidence--beyond talk--that they understand what they have in Allen. The only outside chance is that McDermott fires Brady and hires someone he thinks will be a yes-man but who is actually a rebel who gets instant results and so can't be fired. McDermott will have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to the Super Bowl. There, as in the 13-second game, Allen WILL deliver, and McDermott WILL play not to lose--and lose. Tell me I'm wrong. I very much want to be. -
This is it. The Bills seem to be the only team in the league that doesn’t care about speed at WR. Palmer was their answer but he has a history of injuries and it’s continuing here. Without talent at the outside receiver position, they are so limited in how they can move the ball. They depend on Kincaid for receptions. When he went down, they have nothing. Samuel, Shakir, Coleman, Moore, Shavers, Hawes & Knox don’t threaten anyone. They have become one dimensional on running the ball with Cook. Teams stack the box, stop Cook and one else can get open. Without talent, you need great scheme, but Brady isn’t providing that either.
-
I genuinely believe that's the only way he knows to scheme guys open.
-
I get the number thing again with wr but I refuse to believe Coleman and Samuel can not run slants, skinny posts and dig routes, not to mention whip/arrow routes. they should be throwing a skinny post or deep cross once a game to Samuel with his speed. Samuel is not a little guy. Coleman is perfectly built to run slants. I just don’t understand why they do not attempt these more traditional things. Especially a game like yesterday where the dolphins were 4-3 looks to stop the run.
-
Eh, panic doesn't solve anything but I take issue with the notion that the Bills turn it on for the playoffs. Most of this run we've played poorly in the majority of our wins in the playoffs with a couple notable exception like the NE revenge game. Our coaching staff is always smaller than the moment and we've gotten by on lucky bounces of the ball and Allen heroics. Keep the same staff, nothing changes
-
I get this. But is the receiver room that much worse than last year when the O consistently lit it up. Remember the Lions and Rams games. What did we have last year that was so much better than this year? I really want to understand.
-
He doesn't excel at anything. I don't care about PFF grades; let me hear his name mentioned on the broadcast more than once a month.
-
Offense - needs a WR 1 and WR 2. Shakir would be a great WR 3, but he isn't a WR 1. Defense still can't stop the run. Once again, they get trampled on. Can't defend the pass either. Anyone who thinks this team is going to the Super Bowl is delusional. I know Pegula won't fire Beane and McDermott. Because of that I also know the Bills will never get to a Super Bowl with Allen either. Allen will join Marino, Rivers, Ewing as great players who never won a championship.
-
Every team to ever appear does the same things. It’s part of the show, humanizing the players who wear helmets. tre and benford getting ice cream has nothing to do with these tough losses, Dawkins hobby which he has been doing for years has nothing to do with these losses. everybody needs to get a grip today.
-
He didn't get a giant contract. Elite pass rushers get over double what he makes. He's our best-rated D-limeman almost every week because he excels at the dirty work.

Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good

DEs who can't rush the passer are borderline worthless, in my opinion. Who cares how well he sets the edge or whatever? You don't give those guys giant contracts.
-
Hard knocks just showed our team is cupcake soft and no one has any balls on their team to light this stuff up. it's so cute how we like cookies and ice cream, or go drive ricers really fast, or like horsies.

AJE was out, Bosa was playing with a club, DJ was obviously on some sort of pitch count, plus McD loves to rotate on the DL. To me this is a giant nothing burger concocted by the mass hysteria that is TBD after a Bills loss.
