  1. Past hour
  2. I'm not sure how much his scheme and design work anymore since they outlawed the motion he was using. Agreed he will latch back on as an OC somewhere (probably back to SF) and have success.
  3. It's not an excuse, it's the reality of an undersized DT who has to work harder to beat bigger players. Increased exertion leads to more injuries and if the guy wants to be healthy and ready to go down the stretch and in the postseason, this is how he's going to have to approach the rest of his career.
  4. If the GM and HC never had the DL with the investment they've made there since 2017-18...then they're the problem, not the talent. They've emphasized DL almost every off-season since 2018...stands to reason they'd have figured it out by now. Few teams have alignment in HC and GM on resourcing this group. They don't get it right this season or they never will...from roster philosophy to scheme to coaching and everything before you get to who the players are.
  5. His play design is good. The scheme works for the most part. I think being an OC and being managed himself would do wonders. Basiclly, he learned 2 jobs on the job at the same time. I think he has alot potential as an OC. HC will always be a tough ask.
  6. Marv levy was a 5'9" bookworm nerd that recited too many poems with too many big words, but players would run through walls for him.
  7. When we know what is coming, we have players/talent that can make plays. The problem is when coaching and scheme are involved it becomes a total crap shoot. Too many players saying "we never saw that on tape" or "we werent ready for that" after the game.
  8. Ed Oliver is a solid DT and provides much needed pass rush ability in the interior. I don’t get the hate he receives. He is one of the main reasons this is a perennial top 10 defense. Ask Joe Burrow what it’s like to have to win shootouts every week.
  9. So does this guy and he would kill 99.9% of the people on Earth.
  10. Looks like the Jets flipped the dysfunctional booger on the Dolphins "The Sun-Sentinel reported that Miami was fed up with the veteran cornerback they traded to the Steelers last week after he became disruptive with the team and was hurting the culture the franchise was trying to build." And I'm not sure what type of "culture" they're trying to build based recent history. Is it this first one, or the latter? culture 1 of 2 noun cul·ture ˈkəl-chər b : the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization a corporate culture focused on the bottom line 3 : the act or process of cultivating living material (such as bacteria or viruses) in prepared nutrient media also : a product of such cultivation
  11. For sure. Overall, I was confident most instances where we lined up on 3rd and 4th and 1 or less. So strange
  12. My problem with Oliver is he seems to disappear if you have above average guards and centers on a team. He only seems to feast on below average to average IOL. I don't study him that close to see if it's indeed the case though.
  13. Got that list yet? Rich folks got their huge tax cut. But you didn’t get your list.
  14. Yet the defense somehow found a way to step up on 3rd and sometimes 4th and inches, on multiple occasions. Our defense was strange.
  15. No ***** Newt. Iran couldn't have cared less about a Ceasefire. Now they do. It's like somebody killed off their proxies, smashed their military and assassinated a bunch of the generals. Funny how that worked.
  16. This rings true. Nice analysis of what Oliver does and doesn't do. I'm reminded that McDermott once said pressures are more important than sacks. What you describe is a guy who gets pressures but not sacks. For better or worse, that makes him a McDermott kind of guy.
  17. He's probably getting a 2 bedroom apartment in Santa Monica. Eliminate all distractions, focus on football and his mental health because of his sadness of Hailee in the movie Sinners.
  18. Mark Pike has gone from underrated to overrated on these boards. I just view gunners, return guys, kickers, and punters as more vital to Special Teams.
  19. Good point. They are both literally and figuratively on crack.
