This is not an effort to defend him, but it is possible that he wasn't necessarily being lazy; it could be that he just hasn't figured out yet how to change that long stride in order to play effectively on a frozen field.

Something tells me we're going to be a hard out in the playoffs. I don't feel like we CAN really peak, but if anything, I feel like we're starting to pull it together a little down the stretch and hopefully that carries into the playoffs. F THE PATS btw.

I can’t all fired up about tiebreaks let alone even concerned at this point. One team is in front of you, hopefully we win and move on. Bills can only worry about their schedule the rest is gonna fall where it belongs based on how other teams play out. We only control 1 path.

I don’t have any real complaints of who the CFP selected, except their lack of transparency regarding ND vs Bama vs Miami I personally don’t think Bama or ND or Miami earned their playoff berths, but since only two slots were open because of the 5 conference champs rule, I thought Bama, with multiple CFP final ranking top 25 wins and Miami with their Head to Head win over ND “deserved” the slot over ND. That said, the CFP ranking of ND ahead of Miami for weeks despite them both have the same record for a month was stupid. My biggest complaint was how was OSU ranked ahead of GA in the final poll? Both had the same record. GA won their championship game and had more quality wins. I’m also unsure how Oregon was ranked ahead of TexAM and Ole Miss. Oregon’s best win was over USC. The Aggies beat ND and Ole Miss Oklahoma. I’d have ranked them Ole Miss 5, Texas AM 6 and Oregon 7. I also think the CFP ranked the teams a little bit for matchups. Bama stayed 9 after getting killed by GA because the CFP wanted a Bama vs Okla rematch. Go Sooners! Overall I think the CFP rankings are pretty straight forward. If you are a Power 4 conference team and go undefeated or have only one loss, you’re in the playoffs. If you have 2 losses, you are on the bubble. It’s really that simple. At that point head to head comes in and maybe other factors such as strength of schedule. Back to ND for a second. They played two teams in the playoff and lost to them both. BYU played one playoff team all season and got killed by them twice. Vandy played two bubble teams, Bama and Texas and lost to both. Utah played one CFP team and one bubble team and lost to both. IMHO Texas is the hardest one of the bubble teams, except 3 losses should be an eliminator. They beat CFP teams Oklahoma, Texas AM and bubble team Vandy, but lost to OSU, GA and a terrible Florida team. If they had beat Florida they’d be the 8th seed. To me Bama is comparable to Texas. They beat CFP team GA, and bubble Vandy, but got killed by GA when it counted, lost to Okla and lost to terrible FSU. To me they also should have been eliminated from the playoffs, except they skate because only 2 of their losses were in the regular season and one was out of conference.

Famous Seinfeld episode - George finds success by doing the opposite of what he thinks the right decision is. McD should give it a try: 1. 13 second game - no brainer. From the decision to kick it out of the end zone to the ridiculous way he set his defense, if he just would have done the opposite of what he decided to do, we win the game. 2. Home opener last year - less than 2 minutes to go, up by three at Arizona 15 yard line, he takes the ball out of Allen’s hands, runs 3 straight times, settles for field goal, Bills up by dreaded 6. A Kyle Murray pass to our 5 yard line is defected by the finger tips of our db, game saved. Two weeks later v Houston, minute to go, Bills at our OWN 1 yard line, tie score, he now decides to throw three times. All the things that can go wrong with ure QB throwing out of the end zone, ie a holding penalty for a safety etc. His decision cost us this game. In both situations, he should have done the opposite. 3. Yesterday- for all the criticisms of his bend but don’t break scheme, the one time he really NEEDED to deploy that scheme, he mangles it. Cinci last drive - we could afford to have them score a TD, but it was absolutely necessary to keep everything in front of them, make CINCI burn clock before scoring their TD. But no, not McD. He allows a 50 second TD drive. The last TD pass to Higgins he blitzes, leaves Trey White one on one with Higgins. The EXACT OPPOSITE of the type of D scheme he should be employing in that situation. Allen then bails him out again, with his 3rd & 15 scramble to put away a game that should have been put away by then, except for another McD meltdown. Rest of the league is 6 & 42 when their D gives up more than 32 points. The Bills are 3-0. Allen constantly overcoming McD failures. It’s his defense, his scheme, multiple draft & free agent resources given to his D. And it consistently fails miserably against top competition, playoffs & top QBs. How long do you stay with this guy who is lucky enough to have the best QB in football yet undermines him at every turn i can appreciate the positives McD brings, but it’s not enough. It’s not just me, a regular fan. Andy Reid is going to the HoF someday, and it was his decision to fire McD and the McD scheme. Reid has never employed a D scheme like that since.

Our run d really impressed me yesterday. I figured we’d be so laser focused on defending the pass that our run D would sufffer, but it was excellent. Would love to see that continue. We played nickel the entire game and our run D was very good. 19 carries for 62 yards (3.2 ypc). The bengals had been running the ball effectively since their bye a month ago and really gashed the patriot run d to the tune of 5.2 ypc (and Flacco was the QB) And when he’s out there, the defense assumes he’s getting the ball and they can double team him on the most important play of the game which allowed Josh to run. The only problem with playing Kincaid so few snaps is he’ll likely be the focal point of the D when he’s out there. I would love for his snap count to be 20-30ish until the playoffs.

I don’t disagree that WR and DE are also a priority and a high one. I think that’s why Taron Johnson gets kept unless there is a player they just can’t pass up on the board in the draft or in free Agency. The bad news is we won’t have the draft pick capital of the last two years. Now certainly Beane can manipulate that with trade downs and trading away players( Keon Coleman ) etc but as it stands right now they are not in a great spot to add too many impact guys through the draft. If we cut the usual suspects for next year. Curtis Samuel, Taylor Rapp, Tyler Bass and so on and the cap increases like last year we should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 million under the cap which seems like a lot but comparably it’s not

Between Knox’s and Hawes’ performances, I have no complaints on not using Kincaid more. With soft tissue stuff, you have to be careful

Did anyone see Williams on the sideline right after the interception? He was smiling, like ear to ear, when he took his helmet off. Could have at least waited a few more seconds for the final whistle. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah both Jets games that year. Belichick figured him out pretty quick. Make him throw from the pocket. Yeah those are the REAL deflating losses. When you realize your team has a fatal flaw. The Fitz home loss to the Jets after their fast start was another one of those games. They forced Fitz out of the dink and dunk and using the middle of the field and he couldn't handle the big boy throws. That season fell apart after opponents saw that tape. And with Flutie the year after teams employed the Belichick D on him and that's why the offense struggled in 1999.

That first matchup was the game that felt like the bills were bored and thought theyd cruise past them after a 4-0 start and years of owning them. I think this time we'll see the real bills
